Shire House

My mother (the resident) chose this care home in 2012. It was the only care home that did not smell of urine. I was most impressed by the real care and respect given to residents by the care staff. The home was always clean and the food always fresh. I was often pleased to be invited for dinner when visiting.

The staff were always welcoming and friendly. Mother's care was professional, friendly and caring.

My mother stayed at Shire House for a period of six weeks due to a broken leg. All the staff were very caring and attentive. The home was very clean and the food excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and I would not hesitate in using the home in the future.

This is a perfect place to have found for my mother. It was not how I imagined a care home to be it is just like home from home. She had a very comfortable and well furnished clean room. As for the care I couldn't have wished for better. The staff were caring and attentive and I know she was being cared for by people who were conscientious and experienced. I would recommend this care home to anyone considering this kind of accommodation.

They always try their best to accommodate Mum's needs and are flexible when I or my brother/family etc. visit.

My husband was admitted here for respite and we were so impressed with the care and the staff, we decided this was the place for him to stay. The kindness shown to us and the care, nothing too much trouble. We are always made welcome.

Food is excellent. Mum is always clean and well presented and happy as far as her dementia will allow.

Shire House is a caring committed home which has gone out of its way to make my mother happy and comfortable.

All the members of staff have been patient and gone out of their way to make sure he had the correct teams and Drs involved. My father has now settled more but they are still being attentive.

They treated mum with kindness and dignity and took away lots of stress and worry the family were going through. I was able to breathe a huge sigh of relief knowing that mum was safe and being cared for in a "home from home" and local to her own home which allowed dad to visit her every day. Thank you.

My wife and I were extremely satisfied with the care that my mother received. She was treated with respect and dignity. Her end of life care was exceptional. All her needs were catered for in a very professional but also loving and caring environment. She was always clean and tidy, her hair brushed, clothes and bedding fresh each day. We were kept informed of any changes in her health and found staff helpful and sympathetic. We were very grateful for all they did for my mother.

A beautiful home in lovely grounds. Very good staff, nothing too much trouble. Very caring, helpful and lots of activities throughout the week.

Shire House is an excellent home (with the emphasis on 'home'). Residents are all treated individually with the utmost care and respect. Shire House is homely and feels like a family home. The staff are all fabulous, kind and caring. I'd have no hesitation in recommending Shire House it's a special place.
