Over all time Adamscourt has 29 reviews.
I get offered tea/coffee & biscuit too.
I talk to her about nature and what's going on in Southbourne and to recall as much as poss. She always says about the view from her window, watching squirrels!
We really appreciated you taking the time to send in the review.
A small intimate, and homely care home where the resident counts as part of the family. Excellent care was given to my mother in her last weeks of life, and Sue passed away with dignity, care and attention. Staff were attentive and helped my mum through a difficult time, making the transition peaceful for her and also for me. I can thoroughly recommend this care home as going the 'extra mile' with a genuine personal touch. I will forever be grateful that I chose this home for my mum - RIP.
Thank you once again.
There are several planned activities, to ensure the residents have plenty to occupy them, should they want to join in.
I have found the manager Vanessa and her assistant Rebecca very helpful with the moving in process, and any queries I may have.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful review. It means a lot to all the staff, they work very hard to care for all of our wonderful residents. We are so pleased to hear your loved one has settled well and you are reassured they are being cared for in the appropriate manner. Thank you once again.
Vanessa and all the team all do a very good job, are polite and attentive, and take care of all mum's needs. The care home has a friendly and homely atmosphere. If mum needs a hospital appointment or doctors, they organise it all, including transport. Mum has recently had her 100th and 101st birthday and they arranged a splendid party and buffet for her. They also arrange nice trips out on their wheelchair friendly minibuses. We are very grateful to all at Adamscourt. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for us, it really is appreciated. It is wonderful to hear that Mum and the extended family are happy with our care, it is a pleasure to look after Mum. We are so happy to hear our homely atmosphere comes across, this is important to us. I will pass your kind words onto staff. Thank you again.
My mother has been a resident for a year at Adamscourt and the care and support she has received has been superb. The staff are respectful and friendly in their interactions with my mother. She has had various medical issues throughout the year that they have managed and accessed outside professional support. They managed the more challenging aspects of her Alzheimer's positively, kindly and with reassurance. We as a family are notified of any issues either by phone or in person. Any emails forwarded are responded to swiftly and professionally. Staff are friendly, welcoming and approachable. They always listen to our input on issues. The care home has a high level of cleanliness and thankfully smells pleasant too. There are regular activities organised and they encourage involvement. Trips are organised on a minibus which is fabulous for my mother to get out and about safely. The food - meals and homemade cakes are superb and you regularly are offered to join in!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review, it really does mean a lot to all of us and great to hear that you feel we are looking after Mum so well! it is so lovely to hear all the positive acknowledgement as the staff work very hard to offer the care each individual deserves and the family interactions are an essential part of this. Thank you once again.
I have always found the staff to be caring and kind, they know my Mother and how to nicely interact with her. I am always welcomed to the home whenever I visit. When I ask a question about her wellbeing they are well informed and able to answer or get someone who can. The property is always clean and tidy and her room is also always clean and tidy, with the same true of her bathroom. My Mother has been at Adamscourt since January 2025 and after some settling in has adapted pretty well, on occasions when she has been unwell/upset/anxious the carers have ensured help has been sought. She enjoys her food and has been happy with the food the team serves. Overall I have been very pleased with the care at Adamscourt
Thank you so much for taking the time to write the review, it is very much appreciated. We are so happy to hear your Mother has settled well and you find the staff so caring and kind and that the home is kept well and hygiene levels are high, we do strive to ensure everyone here is happy and healthy and supported and offered a lovely environment to live in.
The care in Adams Court is excellent, and to prove this they have won a number of awards. All the staff are friendly and approachable. They keep me informed how Pat is doing. The room is kept clean and tidy. The food is excellent, I know this as I have eaten meals with Pat. There are many activities and excursions. The management are always present and approachable.
Our Dear William, it has been such a pleasure looking after Pat and getting to know you both. You have helped us promote our Hydration programme which we are very grateful for and without your help and me retelling your story then we would never have one the award. You are the shining star! thank...
All staff are very courteous and friendly, they welcomed you in and always have a smile and a chat .
Most importantly,my dad appears very settled already ,and enjoys spending time chatting to all of the staff.
Personal care is respectful and carried out with dignity .
A few " settling in " minor issues to begin ,although I expected that ,they were all resolved quickly.
My dad always has a smile on his face and likes his room, especially the fact he has a lovely view of the garden from his chair .
I always ask dad if he feels happy and feels relaxed at Adamscourt,he always replies positively, which takes away my worry and I know he is in safe hands .
Thank you so much for the positive review of our home, Adamscourt. We are so happy to hear that Dad has settled in well and he always has a smile on his face, that means the world to us. We are also so happy to hear that you are reassured, it is such a huge step to take and it is very important to...
Adamscourt welcomed my mum into their care in February 2025. All the staff are very friendly and caring, treating Mum with respect. I am kept well informed on aspects of her care and the staff give me plenty of feedback which I really appreciate. I have observed however that she is not always wearing her hearing aids when I visit which is important for communication and she has been in clothes that don't belong to her. It would be helpful if the menu board was updated daily as this is something I can encourage Mum to talk about. I am very happy with the overall care my mum is receiving.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for our home, we are so pleased that Mum has settled well and she is being treated with respect. I am also pleased to hear you feel management and staff are communicating well with you and keeping you updated. I have spoken to the management...
Nice home, nice view and nice and quiet.

Clean.
Attentive staff.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review it is very much appreciated and I will pass on your lovely comments to the staff. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us.
My Dad has been a resident for over two years and has been well looked after. The staff treat residents in a caring, professional, friendly manner, showing respect and maintaining dignity for each resident. Dad is clean, and comfortable and enjoys the home-cooked cuisine. They encourage him to be as independent as safety allows.
He is not able to participate in many activities but does enjoy music and the singers who visit the home. Recently he enjoyed a trip to a garden centre and New Forest in the minibus.
Thank you to all staff for taking such good care of my wonderful Dad.
Thank you so much for the lovely review, it is greatly appreciated and we share these with all staff. We love looking after Dad and we are so happy to hear he is so comfortable and happy at Adamscourt.
Adamscourt is a warm and welcoming home. Since my Dad has lived there he has had wonderful care and attention. The dedicated staff are very kind, caring, compassionate, friendly and helpful and my father is treated with dignity. He is always well turned out, his room is always clean and his belongings are looked after. The staff are very good at keeping us informed if they have had to seek outside medical help for my Dad at any time and keep us updated. My Dad eats very well and loves his food: they try to accommodate his likes and dislikes with choices at meal times. The home runs fun activities for those that are able to join in and they have trips out in the minibus. Thank you for taking great care of my father. I know he is safe in your hands.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete a review and for such a glowing review. It is greatly appreciated and I will ensure it is shared with all the staff. It has been a pleasure caring for Dad and the staff team works hard to make every person feel special and be able to enjoy activities they like. Thank you once again.
Adamscourt have been amazing with my dad. They really are like a family to him since moving there in February. The staff are kind and really do care about making his time each day a happy one. We are blown away with the activities they put on most days and the trips he has been on this year. With having dementia it’s so important everything they do for him. He’s happy and has made some lovely friends and the staff have become his friends too and ours. I cannot recommend Adamscourt enough. The food is exceptional and there is so much going on every day he’s always excited to tell us all about where he’s been. We always feel Dad is safe and cared for which is so important to us.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review, it means so much to us as a team and I will certainly share this with all staff. It is a pleasure to look after Dad and we are thrilled he is so settled and happy and an active, fulfilled life is so important. We will continue to do our best. Thank you once again for all the support.
The manager and her staff made this transition seamlessly due to their hard work and application of care despite having to use full PPE and follow government Covid guidelines.
My aunt has been extremely happy at Adamscourt and likes the food.
Whenever the team at Adamscourt have had to seek medical assistance, they have done this immediately and kept me informed all the way through the process.
They understand my aunt's needs due to her dementia and her mobility has been maintained at a level well in excess of what was predicted a few years ago.
My aunt loves her room overlooking the lovely garden and all her visitors are welcomed.
Adamscourt is making my aunt's final years as comfortable as possible.
We appreciate you taking the time to do this review and wish you and your family a very happy Christmas.
Kind Regards,
Vanessa and the whole team.
All the staff are brilliant completely professional, welcoming, extremely caring and happy to help at all times. The levels of communication are faultless as well, the home is always quick to let me know of any incidents that invariably happen.
My mother's room is always spotlessly clean and this is reflected throughout the home There are varied activities available on a daily basis which I know my mother enjoys at the time.
I could not recommend highly enough Adamscourt to anyone thinking about having a relative as a resident there.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review! It is a pleasure to look after Mum. We are so fortunate to have such a great staff team and we will certainly let them know of your kind comments. We work very hard to try to meet all expectations for everyone around the environment and meaningful activity. Thank you for recognising this.
I was given support and assistance from all the staff and management of Adamscourt which enabled me to eventually return home to my family. I cannot thank the staff enough for their commitment to my care.
Thank you so much for the lovely review, it has been a pleasure assisting you and we are so happy you managed to get back home, which was always your goal, you will be missed by all at Adamscourt. Please pop in and see us for coffee and cake next time you are nearby.
I chose Adamscourt as it is a small care home with only 22 residents. My mother was a resident for three years and the homely atmosphere suited her. There was a consistency of staff throughout her stay, which was reassuring for her and meant all staff knew her and how to respond to her. The staff were always cheerful and helpful and my mother was always well dressed and presented. Pre-Covid, there were regular minibus outings, which my mother enjoyed. During Covid, they protected residents well and still maintained activities for residents. I cannot fault the care home or staff.
It has been a very difficult year, having to accept Mum is no longer the person she was, unable to look after herself and remember the simplest of instructions. Thanks to the amazing team at Adamscourt Care Home, however, I can rest in the knowledge Mum is being well cared for, well fed (all food seems to be cooked on the premises) and well entertained with constant activities. Whilst Mum and I are no longer able to do the things we used to, we are able to make new memories with the help of the team. For this, I am very grateful - Mum is a very precious lady.
My father has been well cared for and seems contented. The staff are friendly and there is a family atmosphere.

Meet the Team (1)

I have worked in care since I left school, my first job was in the TB hospital in Bournemouth. This was a very challenging role, but I gained a lot of experience and it armed me with the training and resilience I needed to further my career. I then moved to Boscombe Hospital which was a different kind of care. This hospital closed and the new Bournemouth General Hospital was built I moved there for a while, and I then decided to take some time out and dedicate some time to my family. I started to miss working in care, I applied for the role of care assistant at Adamscourt and started in 2012 and gained a lot of experience and was promoted to senior, then Deputy manager and then in 2019 I was given the opportunity to become the home manager this has been an exciting and demanding challenge and I continue to learn each day. I am proud of myself for my achievements and the home has grown from strength to strength.
I have achieved my level 5 in care management and continue to attend courses which relate to care.
When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family and our dogs. I also like reading and listening to music.
