Every so often, I pop in to see my ex-neighbour. She seems very bright when I visit. I always ask if she's comfortable and happy with things and she always answers positively. I get offered tea/coffee & biscuit too.
I talk to her about nature and what's going on in Southbourne and to recall as much as poss. She always says about the view from her window, watching squirrels!

Overall Experience
The staff are lovely and seem to genuinely care about every resident they look after. They listen to queries and concerns and try to help as best they can. Mum has settled in very well and joins in with activities and likes to chat with the carers and they make time to listen even when they are busy. Her room is always clean and tidy and every care is taken to ensure safety. Our overall experience so far has been very good.

Overall Experience
A small intimate, and homely care home where the resident counts as part of the family. Excellent care was given to my mother in her last weeks of life, and Sue passed away with dignity, care and attention. Staff were attentive and helped my mum through a difficult time, making the transition peaceful for her and also for me. I can thoroughly recommend this care home as going the 'extra mile' with a genuine personal touch. I will forever be grateful that I chose this home for my mum - RIP.

Overall Experience
My parent moved into Adamscourt following a stay in hospital where he had stopped eating and drinking due to poor health and was quite ill when he moved in. The dedicated staff did their utmost to encourage my parent to eat and drink, with tempting food and even mocktails to encourage fluid intake. Without fail the staff are always cheerful and friendly to my parent and to family members when we visit. Since being in the home, my parent has made a marvellous recovery, and is enjoying having people to talk to and takes an interest in what is going on around him. There are several planned activities, to ensure the residents have plenty to occupy them, should they want to join in.
I have found the manager Vanessa and her assistant Rebecca very helpful with the moving in process, and any queries I may have.

I have been visiting Osborne Lodge Rest Home for about 8 years. Firstly with my motehr in law living there and because she was so well looked after, when the time came for my own mother, there wa sonly one place she would end up going to. She's been in Osborne Lodge since June 2020. She does have dementia and is bedbound, but is very well cared for. My mother in law died there 2022, she was 100 and 52 days old. My mother will be 100 in September this year.

My mum has been a resident at Osborne Lodge Rest Home for almost three years now. The service and level of care since the initial enquiry up until now has been excellent. Every one from the manager, the carers, chef and cleaners always make you feel welcome and have time for you as a visitor, whilst delivering first class care to the residents. The home operate an open door policy, they have nothing to die, you are always made welcome. It is down to that level of care that Mum is happy and still with us, thank you Osborne Lodge and all the staff.

Vanessa and all the team all do a very good job, are polite and attentive, and take care of all mum's needs. The care home has a friendly and homely atmosphere. If mum needs a hospital appointment or doctors, they organise it all, including transport. Mum has recently had her 100th and 101st birthday and they arranged a splendid party and buffet for her. They also arrange nice trips out on their wheelchair friendly minibuses. We are very grateful to all at Adamscourt. Thank you.

My mum has been a resident of Osborne Lodge since April 2025 and is so happy there. The staff go above and beyond to care for her. Everyone of the staff are very friendly and helpful and are always available to chat if we have any concerns with mums health. The care home have a yearly summer party and Christmas party for residents and everyone is welcome to attend. It is amazing! So much fun.The staff make sure everyone is having a good time and want for nothing.Food is fantastic and they always have a singer which everyone enjoys.Mum absolutely loves living at Osborne Lodge, she was always very independent and had her doubts about going into a care home after visiting residents in the past so this was a big step giving up her home. From day one we were made to feel so welcome. The staff made sure mums room was perfect even down to her favourite chair from home.We cannot thankyou enough for all the love and care you provide

I must commend ALL the staff at Osborne Lodge for their kindness, empathy and constant care and attention towards my mother-in-law (mum). Everybody has made her feel welcome and part of the family...a true home from home. The relief and confidence we have is all down to those wonderful care practitioners and support staff who have mum's well being and care at the centre of all they do. They also look after us, her family!! Organising events like Christmas Carols, Summer Events, WW2 Remembrance...in fact any excuse to put on a spread and entertainment for mum and her extended family and friends. We have asked them to put on a New Years Eve party :)
Words cannot express our thanks and appreciation for all those who care and support mum at this wonderful place!

My mother has been cared for by the staff at Osbourne Lodge for a year now. They look after her so well. She was resistant to move to a care home but had to due to her not being able to be looked after at home. She loves it and is so much healthier. She participates in the group activities and the home throws great summer and Christmas parties for residents and families. The staff are lovely and caring. The place has a very homely feel.

Overall Experience
My mother has been a resident for a year at Adamscourt and the care and support she has received has been superb. The staff are respectful and friendly in their interactions with my mother. She has had various medical issues throughout the year that they have managed and accessed outside professional support. They managed the more challenging aspects of her Alzheimer's positively, kindly and with reassurance. We as a family are notified of any issues either by phone or in person. Any emails forwarded are responded to swiftly and professionally. Staff are friendly, welcoming and approachable. They always listen to our input on issues. The care home has a high level of cleanliness and thankfully smells pleasant too. There are regular activities organised and they encourage involvement. Trips are organised on a minibus which is fabulous for my mother to get out and about safely. The food - meals and homemade cakes are superb and you regularly are offered to join in!

I have always found the staff to be caring and kind, they know my Mother and how to nicely interact with her. I am always welcomed to the home whenever I visit. When I ask a question about her wellbeing they are well informed and able to answer or get someone who can. The property is always clean and tidy and her room is also always clean and tidy, with the same true of her bathroom. My Mother has been at Adamscourt since January 2025 and after some settling in has adapted pretty well, on occasions when she has been unwell/upset/anxious the carers have ensured help has been sought. She enjoys her food and has been happy with the food the team serves. Overall I have been very pleased with the care at Adamscourt

My concern is after the residents have had lunch, as staff need their break, it leaves only one member of staff is on duty downstairs and one upstairs. I feel should a serious incident happen at this time there is not enough staff to help. Also my friend is close to being blind, and leaving her dinner on her table which she cannot see, it is left to get cold. I have made to see that this is to be rectified.

My father has recently moved in to Adamscourt, he been living there since February 2025. All staff are very courteous and friendly, they welcomed you in and always have a smile and a chat . Most importantly,my dad appears very settled already ,and enjoys spending time chatting to all of the staff. Personal care is respectful and carried out with dignity . A few " settling in " minor issues to begin ,although I expected that ,they were all resolved quickly. My dad always has a smile on his face and likes his room, especially the fact he has a lovely view of the garden from his chair .
I always ask dad if he feels happy and feels relaxed at Adamscourt,he always replies positively, which takes away my worry and I know he is in safe hands .

Adamscourt welcomed my mum into their care in February 2025. All the staff are very friendly and caring, treating Mum with respect. I am kept well informed on aspects of her care and the staff give me plenty of feedback which I really appreciate. I have observed however that she is not always wearing her hearing aids when I visit which is important for communication and she has been in clothes that don't belong to her. It would be helpful if the menu board was updated daily as this is something I can encourage Mum to talk about. I am very happy with the overall care my mum is receiving.
