My mother has been living at The Steppes for six years. She's now ninety and has had dementia for about ten years. She's very well looked after by the staff, she's safe and her physical needs are all met.
Unexpectedly, her state of mind has improved while she's been living there. She enjoys the company of other residents and takes part in the various outings and activities.

With her dementia, she's not always aware of her situation but she's commented to me on the kindness of the staff. I've seen this myself on my regular visits. I'm very happy we found The Steppes for her.

My mum has been a resident of The Steppes Care Home for a number of years. When her previous sheltered accommodation closed she chose The Steppes after visiting and being impressed with the welcome and atmosphere in the home. We have never regretted her choice. She is happy, comfortable and feels safe there. The staff are always friendly, welcoming and helpful with personal attention for all of the residents. Mum enjoys life in The Steppes and it really is a home in the best of senses. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a warm and friendly environment with a true family feeling and individual attention.

This home is a warm, welcoming and caring place.
The staff are exceptionally kind, patient, friendly and cheerful.

The manager is to be congratulated on the lovely atmosphere here and a lot of the carers have been in post for a considerable time which speaks volumes, they are happy in their work.

The Steppes is a lovely care home with good staff.
On the few occasions, we have been unhappy about something it has been quickly rectified.

I would happily recommend it.

My aunt was very unsure of going into a home, but I have found the staff have gone out of their way to welcome her and make sure she is safe and well cared for and happy.

Mum was made very welcome from the moment she arrived. She is very happy, well cared for and pleased to be in a home with such caring, friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble and the optional, regularly organised trips, quizzes and singalongs all help to keep mum mentally stimulated and giving her an opportunity to interact with other residents.

The food is always good and varied, with alternative options always available. As a family we are always made welcome, often with a cup of tea and can drop in at any time.

A rare combination of quality care and personalisation. Well kept, non-institutional setting with great attention to detail. Impressive activities program with designated coordinators.

The Steppes has a friendly, homely feel to it. The staff are lovely and caring and approachable. My father has been well cared for over the 3 years he has been there. I feel part of a partnership with the staff who are happy to include me in the various social events organised during the year.

A big asset is the easy flat access to the town centre - only a minute or two's walk away.
