My mother has been a resident of Avalon for eighteen months having been diagnosed with dementia. Initially, we were concerned about the level of care she would receive but we could not have imagined the exceptional kindness and professionalism all the staff have shown her. The home organises activities and events for the residents to help them keep interested and entertained. The food is excellent and is all prepared freshly in Avalon's kitchens. My mother is relaxed and well cared for and we cannot speak too highly of Avalon.
They most definitely have your loved one's happiness and well-being at the heart of this home. Avalon are always looking for new ways to engage with the residents, whether it's arranging an afternoon of musical entertainment for a good old sing-song, or even an afternoon of arts and crafts, or just a lovely garden tea party (when the weather is good). These are the things, that I, as a loved one are pleased that take place for my Grandmother to enjoy.
Avalon, bring to the home those home comforts for their residents.
When I go to visit my Grandmother, I am always greeted with a warm welcome.
It is clear to see the commitment from the staff and the dignity they treat the residents with is second to none.
I am very pleased Grandma is a resident of Avalon.
The kindness and dedication of the staff has really shown through during the COVID-19 crisis. Regular emails keep relatives up to date. The staff have worked very hard to keep the residents happy and healthy. My family and I are extremely grateful for their ongoing support through this and for the support they continue to show to my family through a difficult personal year.
The manager and the staff are wonderful people and take great care of the residents at Avalon. There is always someone at the end of the phone to talk too. We as a family are more than happy with the care given to our mother. Thank you to you all for going above and beyond to keep mum happy and safe.
It is clear from the weekly covid-19 updates that the staff continue to take great care of all the residents. Their dedication and warm approach is to be commended and especially through these challenging times. It is obvious that there is clear leadership from the manager who instils compassion and this shines throughout the culture of the care home. The residents have always been looked after so well and you get a great sense of this when you visit. The staff have a good rapport with the residents and they make sure the residents days are filled with fun. The cleanliness of the accommodation is very well maintained and the rooms kept lovely for the residents. I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend the Avalon to anyone, where you can be assured that your relatives will be really looked after, cared for and supported.
My mum always seems happy and content. We feel she is in safe hands with great carers who obviously enjoy what they do. They do lots of activities which is nice. Lovely food and always clean. We feel they have done an amazing job staying covid-free and keeping mum and the other residents safe. I would highly recommend this home.
I feel very happy with mums care at the Avalon care home. She has been living there from September and is very settled and happy. The care she gets is very good. The manager and all the staff are very good and attentive and caring. The home is always clean and tidy and very homely. I always feel welcome to visit anytime.
I don't live round Gloucester so cannot recommend to anyone but would if I could. Have found the Manager and staff very helpful. Highly recommend them.
An excellent home where residents are treated very well. I am so glad my mother is in Avalon as I know she's safe and she is extremely happy.
My mother was a resident at this care home for a short while after hospital treatment. The care she received was excellent. The staff were all professional and extremely kind; nothing was too much trouble. I certainly hope that should she need this service again, there will be a room available for her.
My mum is so happy and that makes me happy.
The care home has a friendly environment and comfortable surroundings. The staff are kind and caring and approachable. Any needs of residents are taken care of in timely fashion.
My Mother has been at Avalon for several years now. She is taken care of very well. I live in the USA now, but whenever I visit, the management and staff make me very welcome and are willing to discuss any questions I have. Since the manager has been there, it has become even better. I am now informed by email of anything that I should be made aware of. The Manager went out of his way to make it possible for me to do a video chat with my Mum on Christmas Day. They do a fine job, and sometimes very difficult unrewarding job. Thank you for everything Avalon.
A lovely clean home with caring and attentive staff. I have called the district nurse out twice to deal with my dad's dressings. No problems at all.
There is always a warm welcome for visitors at Avalon and the staff make great efforts to personalise the care given to residents. My relative's health and mental condition has changed over recent months and the staff have taken on board these changes and made sure she has received the correct medication and noted the change in her mental state. I continue to believe that my trust in the manager and staff of Avalon is fully justified. I could not ask for a safer or more friendly and homely environment for my relative.
My mother has been at Avalon for 18 months now and is extremely happy and she settled in instantly. The owners and staff just cannot do enough for their residents. Mum has made many friends and they all look forward to the games and quizzes. The meal choices are excellent. Her room en-suite room is lovely. I cannot thank Avalon enough for the care and attention that they have showed to Mum at all times.
