I moved into the home when my live-in carer was no longer able to help me at home. The care that I have received has been excellent. The staff are very accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble. My health is not good and they notice any deterioration and act very quickly to make me comfortable and let the doctor know. The food is out of this world, I love it.
Mother is a naturally bubbly person and she likes to have a laugh and banter with the staff. The food is good, home-cooked and plenty of variety. There are also some good activities provided. Great adherence to Gov guidelines during this Covid crisis.
I have been living in the home now for two years. Everyone is so kind and helpful. The activities are fun, and I enjoy the new style of 'virtual' entertainment. The food is always excellent and always a good choice. I would certainly recommend the Glen Lyn to anyone thinking of a care home.
Thank you so much for your kind review. The staff team and I are delighted you consider yourself fortunate to reside here. We will do our utmost to ensure you continue to receive the quality care you deserve.
I receive nothing but kindness and respect from the people that care for me. I can choose how I wish to spend my day. There is always someone to help and something to do if I want to. I love my room, I like how the staff support my love of animals and arrange visits from pets and look after my soft toys!
I have a very high regard for Glen Lyn, almost entirely because of the quality of the staff who are, without exception, caring and thoughtful. The care home is comfortable, with good facilities, but the main thing is the quality of the staff, which is exceptional.
(I have not given an opinion in 3 of the areas below simply because I do not know. I have no reason to think that the food and drink are not very good, for example, but I don't actually know).
People are friendly. Like my room, found it comfortable. Excellent food. Get on well with staff. Like the garden. Like entertainment provided. House clean and cheerful.
Everybody is very obliging and a peaceful atmosphere.
Fantastic home. Had not been away for 12 years as I was caring for mum. Had two weeks away and my mum absolutely loved being there. Have been given further weeks respite and I am so comfortable leaving my 90-year-old mum in the hands of Glen Lyn. Not a bad thing to say. Staff are friendly, caring and efficient. Food and accommodation superb. Thank you, Glen Lyn.
The owners were really kind and considerate. The staff were very friendly and made us feel dad was safe with them. It did feel like a home and dad was happy while he was there. He really liked the food too.
Well staffed with genuinely caring people, this home is of a size whereby each resident is known personally by each member of staff and any changes in health or demeanor are quickly noticed and acted upon.
Food is prepared in house and again each resident's preferences are known and, within reason, catered for.
My mother, now 98 and still quite able, can be a little difficult (!) at times but she has settled well and we haven't had any complaints for quite a long time, she even enjoys the food, which in the past caused a few problems as she can be quite choosey.
Conveniently close to the centre of Minehead and also the sea front Glen Lyn is ideally positioned for both shops and amenities and also strolling along the promenade.
I now have a happily settled mother which makes life for all of us a lot easier than when she was trying to look after herself a few years ago.
