The centre is well-placed to support an active and independent lifestyle, located close to numerous amenities, shopping and leisure options. Daily activities and regular trips are organised by a team of dedicated Activities Coordinators.

A wheelchair-friendly interior is enhanced by tracking hoists to assist with moving and handling, while staff have extensive training and qualifications.

I have been coming to Halcon Centre for over a year now and I really enjoy it. The staff are so caring and lovely, always making sure they meet my needs. I love enjoying meeting new people when I come to stay and also catching up with others!

I brought my young daughter over to Halcon to visit my Aunt who was there in respite. The staff were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. They went out of their way to be helpful, even getting my daughter a milkshake and us both lunch. I was astonished and extremely impressed to see the manager
of Halcon with an apron on and cooking the lunch. It is a sign of a great manager when they are willing to step in and help wherever needed.

My husband is very demanding soul, yet the staff of Halcon treat him well and look after all of his needs as soon as they can, as well as helping him with his wants too!
He takes a lot of care and patience, which he is shown. Banter is a big and important part of his stay too. He always prefers to
be at home but tells me that if "home" had to be anywhere else, it would be at Halcon. The food has made a vast improvement this year.

I think that the Manager is excellent. He is very caring and patient and has time for everybody. He builds up an excellent team of carers who are there for you when needed and nothing is too big or small for them to handle. They also give me privacy and discretion when needed. The activities coordinator
is lovely to be with and includes everyone to do things. She does one to one time which is always enjoyable.

It's a good respite home, the staff are friendly and helpful. I go out for pub lunches and I have my nails painted and I have a good laugh. I love staying here. All the staff are wonderful. The manager is nice and gets involved with everything.

It is great to come here at Halcon Centre for respite it helps me relax and I have the freedom to do what I like. Staff are always very friendly and helpful. The location is great, I can go out to the shops, bingo and the cinema. The garden is lovely at Halcon Centre and it's nice to have quiet time.
I love staying at the Halcon Centre.

Job Title: Registered Manager

I am passionate about breaking down the barriers that many young people with complex physical disabilities experience to living a fun and fulfilling life, and instead support their ability to live their lives as they choose. At the Halcon Centre, we create the right environment and provide the right specialist care to empower these young adults to take control of their own lives. We have no strict routines here – our residents can choose when to get up, when to eat and what they want to do with their day. Our role is to ensure all of their needs are met so that they can enjoy being as independent as possible.


I like to think of the Halcon Centre as an accessible hotel with 24/7 tailored care and support thrown in – our residents are our guests, and we want to make sure that their stay with us is an enjoyable and hassle-free experience.


As a small-scale respite and residential care centre, we get to know those in our care as individuals, to learn their likes and dislikes, understand their hobbies and interests and share their sense of humour. Whether long-term residents or returning respite visitors, building this rapport provides familiarity, comfort, continuity and reassurance for those we care for, helping them to truly feel at home at Halcon. Ultimately, we are here to support you to live life to the full, on your terms. So, whether you’re interested in staying with us for a respite break, or considering something more long-term, we are here to help you thrive.
