My mum has been a resident at Nynehead Court for the past 18 months, and I cannot speak highly enough of the care she has received. Looking back, my only regret is that we didn't move her there sooner.
From the moment Mum arrived, every member of staff has treated her with genuine kindness, compassion, dignity and respect. As her dementia has gradually progressed, they have continued to care for her with endless patience, ensuring that she always feels safe, comfortable and valued. It is clear that they see each resident as an individual, and nothing ever seems to be too much trouble.
The support hasn't just been for Mum - it has been for me as well. Watching a parent decline with dementia is one of the most difficult experiences imaginable, and the staff have shown me such warmth, understanding and reassurance throughout. They have always taken the time to listen, answer my questions and offer comfort when I have needed it most.
Nynehead Court is more than just a care home; it feel
Thank you so much for your kind review and all of Nynehead staff enjoy looking after your mum, thank you for recognizing the support we give.
Such a wonderful Care Home. They cared for my Dad after he had a fall over New Year. We originally only expected him to stay for a couple of weeks but their care was so good, and the environment so nurturing, that he decided to stay 3 months. He adored the care professionals, the grounds and the beautiful house. For us, his children, Nynehead was excellent too, they answered every call promptly, had great communication, good flexibility, and displayed understanding and kindness on every front. We would not hesitate to have Dad return here if that is what he would like to do in the future. They have renewed his faith in Care Homes after less positive experiences in the past. Thank you Kim, Dawn and the rest of the lovely team at Nynehead for helping Dad, and us, at our most vulnerable.
Thank you
Kim
I spent several weeks at Nynehead Court following a fall in the garden of my home, when I broke my wrist. I received excellent care in a lovely environment. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious. I was sorry to leave!
We were sorry to see you and are so glad that you had a lovely stay.
We have found everything to be excellent at Nynehead Court, from the carers to the meals to the house and facilities, all superb. Any issues were raised at an evening meeting and were dealt with promptly. Our mum used to visit her friends here and now at 99 she is a happy resident.
It is a pleasure looking after mum, staff are very fond of her. Thank you
Once again the care was second to non, all members of staff showed nothing but devotion to duty. The atmosphere is happy and all staff are very cheerful.
Thank you very much, we enjoy when PR visits us on respite. look forward to the next stay
Nynehead Court was extremely helpful to us when we spent a 10 day respite stay following my wife's hip replacement operation in July 2025. The staff were cheerful and the accomodation and premises excellent and the beautiful parkland much enjoyed by me. We hope to come again.
It was a pleasure to welcome you and your wife on your further visit and I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. All the staff will look forward to see you both again in the near future to enjoy our facilities and give yourself a well deserved rest.
This has been a 'life-saver' holiday for me After a replacement knee (& being a widow living alone) I found the care, accommodation & general ethos of the home 'really' helpful. With no appetite when I came in & the worry of how to cope with every day needs pressing on me - the court dispelled it all. My very grateful thanks!
It was such a pleasure meeting you and having the opportunity to care for you and support you in any way the home could, please feel free to keep in touch.
My mother has Alzheimers and we were able to find a Mews Bungalow at Nynehead where she has been able to continue having independence while having all the support and benefits of living within a caring community. I can't thank the Nynehead team enough for the amazing job they are doing. They have been caring and compassionate throughout and we have felt part of family not just a resident. As my mothers' care requirements have increased we have worked very closely with the Nynehead care team and they have been fantastic and so incredibly supportive. It is such a wonderful environment and with all the activities and friendly staff I know my mother is very happy and safe at Nynehead.
Thank you for your kind words. It is truly a pleasure to care for your mum, and we cherish the moments we get to interact with her.
Very flexible and understanding of her needs - thank you
THank you for the lovely review and we will welcome your Mum back anytime she is next in the area
My mum always said that she felt content at Nynehead Court. Living there was her choice.
She especially enjoyed the musical activities that related to her preferred types of music, such as the sessions run by one of the visiting music facilitators.
In terms of standards of care, my mum received the care that was stipulated in her care plan. I was able to contribute as well, such as by giving my mum a manicure, and feeding her when she was unable to do this herself.
I was able to access her care plan and so I was up to date with any medical consultations she had. My mum never needed hospitalisation during her time at Nynehead Court, and was able to remain there until she passed away.
THank you for your lovely review and we miss your Mum at Nynehead and best wishes to you all
My mother has been a resident of Nynehead Court for over two years now. She is so content here and really does consider it to be her home rather than 'being in a home'. She has nothing but praise for the staff who are kind and respectful - because of the low turnover of staff, she has made meaningful relationships with them. The food is another area she rates highly because there is plenty of choice and the chef is responsive to her likes and dislikes. She looks forward to making her choices and to the meals arriving. It is so reassuring to us as a family that she is eating well. Mum enjoys some of the activities and appreciates the efforts made by the staff and notices the kindness shown to other residents. She is not pressured into 'joining in' when she doesn't want to. It was lovely at Christmas to join her for carols in the drawing room, which was beautifully decorated, with the Wellington Silver Band leading the singing. The gardens are an added pleasure. Thanks to all.
Thank you for your lovely review and we are so glad to have your Mum and know that she is happy living in our "home from home".
My father has been a resident at Nynehead since August 2023. He is very much part of an extended family. My father is able to take part in all the external activities and has enjoyed the Remembrance parade, ballet, carol concert, and regular days out. All the staff treat him with respect, and their fondness for him is palpable. The staff regularly contact us regarding his ongoing medical and mental needs to ensure his ongoing care is shared as appropriate. In précis, my brothers and I truly believe that Nynehead is the best home available and the best place for our father.
Thank you for your lovely review of our wonderful home and it is a pleasure to have your Dad as part of our family.
Both staff and food are first class. As was the level of care and attention to detail.
As daughter of a long standing resident I have interacted with many members of the care team. I found them to be very understanding of my father's condition and needs and helpful in suggestions of how best to address those needs. Staff are friendly, polite and engage with residents throughout the day. While he was mobile staff kept an eye on his walks around the garden, monitoring exit and return. Once he was confined to his room staff visited regularly to monitor him, but in a very subtle way - housekeeping staff come in to clean or collect or return laundry, senior carers come in with medication, regular tea/coffee delivery means another person popping in for a chat. The home itself is in good condition, with the exception of the lift which is on its last legs. The quality of the food is good. Periodic resident meetings, to which family are invited provide opportunity for feedback. The management are always willing to discuss and resolve any issues.
My ninety-two-year-old mother has been a resident of Nynehead Court for four years. She has loved her time there, not least because of skilled and compassionate care from the staff. Her relationship with Nynehead was put to the test earlier this year after she had a stroke. She spent weeks in a local hospital and then a residential rehab unit. Because of her frailty, there was a debate over whether she should be discharged back to Nynehead or to a nursing home. We wanted Mum to return to Nynehead where she could be surrounded by familiar and friendly faces. We are so grateful that Nynehead supported us and worked diligently with NHS representatives to ensure that she would receive proper and appropriate post-stroke care. Nynehead didn't need to do this, they could have allowed Mum to be sent to a nursing home. But the senior management recognized their responsibility to their resident. Now Mum is receiving wonderful and quite labor-intensive care at Nynehead Court.
A tranquil setting with magnificent grounds. My mother has been made to feel at home from the beginning of her stay and welcomed into the Nynehead family. The staff are very aware of her needs, and embrace, and encourage her interests. Her room is spotlessly clean as well as comfortably furnished. I highly recommend all that Nynehead Court offers my mum.
I have been to look around quite a few care homes recently. This is the first that has been professional but caring without being too clinical. I needed somewhere that Dad would feel like he was having a break/holiday rather than feeling he was being placed in a hospital environment. Here he has good company, stimulation and was treated with care and respect.
The staff at Nynehead Court are simply wonderful. They are lively, caring and always interested in my mother. My mother is well fed and happy and content. She is encouraged to join in many activities which she enjoys. She seems much more well since she has been at Nynehead. The staff are also very supportive to the family as it is a difficult step moving mother to a care home. Nynehead Court is an excellent choice.
Sometimes I feel the food could be better presented, and at times, the meat is too chunky and a bit off-putting. At this stage of life, meals are very important. The staff are cheerful and kind. Overall, there is a lovely atmosphere, and the activities ladies do a wonderful job, which really provides positivity for the residents.
Thank you for your feedback, we will pass your comments onto our catering team, it is always useful to understand how we can improve our service.
Mum has been at Nynehead Court for seven months and has settled in really well. All the staff are so kind, caring and understanding. Despite numerous Covid lockdowns, they always remained so cheerful and positive and continues to provide great activities. It was a difficult decision to move mum from her flat to Nynehead Court, but after seven months, as a family, we are sure we made the right decision as mum has benefited so much from the companionship of the other residents and the care of the staff.

I completed a YTS in Horticulture at Cannington College and my day release placement was at a Care Home, working with the Head Gardener on their 9 acres of formal gardens. I hold NVQ Levels 1 and 2 and a City & Guilds qualification in Amenity Horticulture. I worked at the home for 4 years before moving to Monkton Elm Garden Centre, where I worked for 3 years in Commercial Horticulture and gained valuable experience of plants and the industry.
I joined Nynehead Court in 2001 as Assistant to the Head Gardener, and during this time I gained the Advanced National Certificate in Horticulture (Level 3) and took the RHS General Exam. I became Head Gardener in 2009, and now look after the home's impressive 18 acres of historic parkland.
I have been at Nynehead Court for over 19 years and love the history of the gardens, which I share with residents and visitors. Some of the trees are over 400 years old and are a joy to be around.

I started working at Nynehead Court as a carer on day shifts in February 1991. After a few years and completing my NVQ in Health & Social Care I became a Senior Care Co-ordinator, I enjoyed coming to work and caring for our residents. In 2015, after having an operation on my knee that did not go as planned I returned to work but helping in the office. I was offered the Administrator role, and did some external bookkeeping classes to help me. I absolutely love the job I am doing now and working with a great team here at Nynehead Court.
