The Review Score of 9.8 (maximum of 10) for Nynehead Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Nynehead Court in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.755 for Nynehead Court is calculated as follows: ( (118 Excellents x 5) + (36 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 155 Ratings = 4.755

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Nynehead Court is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 8.8 positive Reviews (44 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 12 Reviews ÷ 8.8 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My Father, age 93, has been at Nynehead Court for nearly two years, and they have treated him with remarkable generosity, especially finding him a place to pursue his painting, which he has done professionally all his life. This has put a fresh spring in his step (literally and metaphorically). The staff are wonderful to him and are looking after him brilliantly.

My mother spent 5 very happy years living in Nynehead Mews making use of the excellent care provided by Nynehead Court when she required it. She also very much enjoyed all the entertainment and trips organised for the residents. As dementia became more of a problem for her, she moved into an apartment in Nynehead Court. This was an easy move as she was familiar with all the staff and layout of the house. She was beautifully looked after in her final few months.

Mother has found it hard to accept her loss of independence, but as she could no longer look after herself well or safely in her own home and as a sociable person, Nynehead Court has proved an excellent solution.

My mother has been extremely well-cared for at Nynehead Court since her arrival some years ago as a resident in an independent-living bungalow. She was well-supported in adjusting and enjoying her new home and received a good level of non-intrusive care which allowed her to manage well.

Following a fall, and with increasing dementia, she is now living in the Mulberry Wing receiving the full time care she requires, thanks to the excellent care and dedication of staff and management. While she was able to walk unaided from her bungalow, she enjoyed the beautiful gardens and the social life and companionship of meals and activities, such as the art class. As she is much less mobile now and lives within a room, the Nynehead garden staff have maintained a beautiful, well-kept flowerbed for her to look at in the Mulberry Wing garden and they placed a bird-feeder within view of her room for her to enjoy watching. This has made a more confined setting much more bearable for her.

My father was at Nynehead Court after over 6 months in and out of hospital. He was very well cared for and although our family knew that my father was terminally ill, we were greatly comforted to know that he was supported by the wonderful caring staff and in the beautiful surroundings at Nynehead Court.

My mother had been a resident at Nynehead Court for 3 years, where she was extremely happy and very well looked after. When she was first admitted, she moved under pressure from her children, firm in the belief that she would not like the environment. However, within two weeks she had wondered why she had not made the move earlier!

The setting and grounds are truly gracious but it is the genuine friendliness of all the staff, which sets Nynehead Court on a pedestal. Nynehead Court is not like a care home at all, it is a hub of activity and a genuine part of the local community where fetes, concerts, big breakfasts, hunt meets, art exhibitions, displays, classes, community meetings and numerous events are held to ensure that the residents are a part of the outside community. There are also daily outings to places of interest and a regular changing calendar of activities to keep residents interest in whatever they like.

Nynehead Court is special in every respect.

We first found Nynehead Court because after researching more than 20 care homes, it was the only one willing or able to offer short term respite care when we needed it for my elderly father in law. After a month's stay, we realised that Nynehead offered a much better living arrangement for him than we could provide in our own home so we moved him there permanently. This has been an excellent decision, he is cared for, his meals are prepared to his satisfaction, he has activities and entertainment and a lovely garden in which to roam. We know he is safe. The staff are friendly and responsive to our inquiries and requests and although the cost is high, the financial arrangements are fair and clearly documented.

As you enter Nynehead Court you feel like you are entering a stately home but it still has a comfortable, homely feel about it. It is situated in lovely grounds. When I visit my mother there is always a relaxed, genuine welcome from the staff. I feel quite at home sitting in her room, as it is filled with her own furniture, or accompanying her to meals in the dining room. The management and staff are friendly, relaxed and attentive and, more important than anything else, very caring.
My mother moved into Nynehead Court about two and a half years ago when she could no longer cope at home. She participates in many of the activities and outings and attends Sunday service at All Saints church which is in the grounds of Nynehead Court.
She tells me, "If you do need to live in a residential care home, this is the best one to be in."

There is a lovely atmosphere at Nynehead Court. Staff know residents names and use them all the time. They have time to have a chat with residents and exchange some gentle banter and teasing. The surroundings are more like a country house hotel than a care home. The welcoming drawing room is beautifully furnished with a roaring fire in the winter. The chairs and tables are grouped as they would be in a hotel rather than arranged around the edge of the room as in many care homes. The activities staff organise an interesting variety of activities and trips and they get to know the residents and the activities that they will enjoy. A particular advantage of Nynehead Court is the relationship with the local community. Residents are able to be involved in, and attend, a number of local events. The meals at Nynehead are very good with an interesting and varied menu. Visitors are always welcome to join residents for meals. The gardens at Nynehead Court are a wonderful asset for the residents.

As we arrived we were met by the manager and care staff who assisted in bringing things to my room and were full of smiles. The room had been set for me and dressed with a new bowl of beautiful sweetpeas. I was made very comfortable and all information about the room and facilities were explained to me. During my stay, I had my hair done and was given a bath. I met the chef who provided me with food to suit my needs. All the staff were very kind especially a gentleman who was very nice and helpful, he wheeled me around the grounds each day on the last day he took me around in the buggy. My visitors were all treated with respect and they commented on how helpful and courteous the staff are. I will go again.

My Aunt was a resident at Nynehead Court for over 3 years, both in the residential home and the dementia unit. She was extremely well cared for during her time and was only moved to another care home for family reasons. The staff are most caring and considerate of residents needs and show great respect to all their residents. The food is excellent and the rooms are always very clean. My family and I would have no hesitation in recommending Nynehead Court to anyone with an elderly relative who would certainly benefit from living in these beautiful surroundings.

Deb Sparks

Job Title: Senior Carer, Mulberry Wing

Description:

Deb manages the home’s Mulberry Wing for people living with dementia, and has achieved the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care. This is why she loves working at Nynehead Court:
"I have been working at Nynehead Court for many years. I love the work I do and enjoy being part of a friendly, supportive team, not just care staff but everybody who works at Nynehead, we work as one to ensure that our residents know that it is their home and that we are here to support them. I enjoy working in such beautiful surroundings from the cosy log fire in winter, to picking the berries on the mulberry tree in summer; it really doesn’t feel like “work”. I try to ensure that the residents in my care are able to live as full a life as possible and I enjoy sitting round the table sharing a coffee with them and chatting about everyday things, just as we would in our own homes. I want to do a job which gives me real job satisfaction and working at Nynehead Court certainly does that."
