I can say hand on heart the team at Nynehead Court are remarkable. My mother hates having to be in a residential home, yet the care and attention she gets makes her life bearable - even joyful at times. Even through lockdown, the care has been unfaltering. I have only experienced the highest standard of care for my mother.
My now 98-year-old aunt moved into Nynehead Court in November 2019 and settled in well before the pandemic. Nynehead Court has been exceptional in their care during the last incredibly difficult two years, They have communicated well with relatives, been efficient and good-humoured throughout. I highly recommend them.
Mum moved to Nynehead Court four weeks ago. She has settled there really well, and we are very impressed by the quality of the care in all respects and by the management of the home.
My mother's been at Nynehead for several months, and we've been very pleased with the care and professionalism of the staff. The facilities and garden are excellent, and the activities organised have been appreciated by her.
My mother and father and now an auntie have been residents in this home on and off since 2008. Mother having a four years stay and passing away peacefully at this home. The staff are so caring, polite and welcoming; many having been there for many years, a true sign of a contented family environment. There is nothing more pleasant when visiting to be welcome by name. Rooms are airy, cleaned regularly, and residents looked in upon many times during the day. Feels like a little community.
My mother has been a resident for 2 years now and is feeling happy and safe there. The staff couldn't be more helpful, charming and friendly. In these current turbulent times the attention to detail has been exemplary.
Thank you for your response, the home continues to ensure that our residents feel safe and secure in this current climate.
My mother lived at Nynehead Court for over eight years. At first, she lived a (supported) independent life in her bungalow in the Court grounds, but as her dementia became worse and after a fall, she moved into a single room in the Mulberry Wing. Both in her own home and in the dementia wing, she received excellent care which respected her independent spirit and gave her a good quality of life, as well as providing increasing support for her deteriorating mental health and physical frailty. During the last, difficult weeks of her life, I always knew I could trust the Nynehead staff to care for Mum with their customary professionalism, sensitivity and kindness which maintained her comfort and dignity to the very end. The Nynehead staff have also been exceptionally caring and supportive to us as a family, both throughout Mum's years at the Court and particularly during her final illness, despite the extra difficulties and restrictions of lock-down.
Nynehead locked down very early and have handled the COVID-19 epidemic very well. The staff have been caring, attentive and cheerful despite these difficult circumstances and especially the requirement to wear PPE. I particularly appreciated their help in arranging regular FaceTime and Skype calls for me as this enabled me to give regular updates on my mother's wellbeing to the rest of our large family.
The admin side is efficient and responsive and I am kept well informed about my mother's wellbeing.
Nynehead Court stands out because of its caring staff and excellent premises.
My wife and I were very impressed by the flexibility regarding meals and accommodation for guests on a casual basis.
Uncle is very clean, tidy and looked after very well. I moved him from another care home, and I'm very pleased with the decision.
Assistance from staff on the first day, I was introduced to other residents upon my arrival. I had a choice of being served with meals in the bedroom but as I was put on the top floor, I had to wait. Was unable to shower or use bath, was awkward.
Yours sincerely, Manager
I have been very satisfied with my stay here. They have maintained a high standard of cleanliness and I have found the staff to be nothing but kind, helpful and cheery. I would have no hesitation in recommending these facilities to others.
This is a comfortable, large country house, with excellent facilities, set in a large garden and park, giving easy access for walking exercise. The bedrooms are large and comfortable. The food is adequate and regular and of reasonable variety. The caring is EXCELLENT - very friendly and efficient.
Played a lot of croquet on a really good PROPER croquet lawn. There are plenty of paths in the park for walking. The house has it's own minibus so there are various outings to the coast or various country houses.
Nynehead was really good at taking my mother in from the hospital, have looked after her in her convalescence with great care and now as a resident. Have helped her move rooms and instal Sky without any fuss. We are really pleased with the care and attention she is getting.
Enjoyed the time spent at Nynehead, was very comfortable and well looked after.
A friend has recently moved into Nynehead Court and we have visited her on a number of occasions. It is a handsome building with many rooms and in a gorgeous setting. We were struck by the easy friendliness of ALL THE STAFF led by the very hands-on manager, whose calming persona spreads throughout all operations. A visit here is like entering a well-run hotel where residents become friends of the staff and involve themselves in various activities which happen in and around Nynehead Court.
We enjoyed a walk through the magnificent gardens, listed by English Heritage, and visited the village church just a short distance from the front doorway.
My wife and I are well impressed with this care home. It is a smooth operation, with staff calmly handling guests using dignity and individuality. Our friend was enticed with the food offerings, properly created on the premises. Proof indeed that it is possible to grow old in fine style. This place is on our list, when the time comes.
The management and staff make every effort to ensure the home's residents are part of the village community by taking them to events in the Memorial Hall and by inviting residents to events they put on for residents.
Staff always knock on residents' doors before entry and are always polite to visitors.
Activities are varied and cater to residents' tastes.
The grounds are beautiful and there is a buggy to ensure the less able can get out.
A 'friends' group support individual activities and help with activities.
She is particularly pleased to continue her bridge playing and to be able to enjoy the gardens.
Nynehead court have looked after my father exemplary. He was with them for approximately 17 months before he passed away. dad loved our walks around the beautiful grounds and the Mulberry unit looked after his extra needs with great care and attention. He wasn't always the easiest to care for. Thank you, Nynehead Court for all you did for my father

I completed a YTS in Horticulture at Cannington College and my day release placement was at a Care Home, working with the Head Gardener on their 9 acres of formal gardens. I hold NVQ Levels 1 and 2 and a City & Guilds qualification in Amenity Horticulture. I worked at the home for 4 years before moving to Monkton Elm Garden Centre, where I worked for 3 years in Commercial Horticulture and gained valuable experience of plants and the industry.
I joined Nynehead Court in 2001 as Assistant to the Head Gardener, and during this time I gained the Advanced National Certificate in Horticulture (Level 3) and took the RHS General Exam. I became Head Gardener in 2009, and now look after the home's impressive 18 acres of historic parkland.
I have been at Nynehead Court for over 19 years and love the history of the gardens, which I share with residents and visitors. Some of the trees are over 400 years old and are a joy to be around.

I started working at Nynehead Court as a carer on day shifts in February 1991. After a few years and completing my NVQ in Health & Social Care I became a Senior Care Co-ordinator, I enjoyed coming to work and caring for our residents. In 2015, after having an operation on my knee that did not go as planned I returned to work but helping in the office. I was offered the Administrator role, and did some external bookkeeping classes to help me. I absolutely love the job I am doing now and working with a great team here at Nynehead Court.
