Overall Experience
I have a brother and sister at the home and can only say how well they are cared for. Recently my brother was taken ill but would not say - the staff noted that he was not his usual self - an ambulance was called and he was admitted to hospital with a diagnosis received which would require long term medication. This would not have been picked up if he had been alone at home.

The nursing care is well above standard and clients are treated as part of the family. The staff from reception, laundry, kitchen, cleaners, care staff and nurses are always helpful with nothing being too much trouble. As a family we are so pleased that they are being so well cared for and not have to worry 24 hours a day if they are alright.

My son has suffered from mental health issues for over 20 years. He has been hospitalized numerous times between periods of living in a flat on his own.
Now he is a full time resident at The Limes unit at Cedar Lodge in Taunton.
I have never seen him so happy . He is completely relaxed in his environment. The staff are amazing and he gets the level of support his acute mental illness requires.
I cannot speak highly enough of The Limes . It has given my son a safe place to live with full support.
My son was really struggling living on his own and now he is in full time residential care, this gives me as his mother, such relief that he is being cared for and in a safe and supported environment.

Thank you to all the staff at The Limes at Cedar Lodge.

I have not seen my Mum smile like she has done so it's moving into Cedar the Lodge. Since before she was diagnosed with dementia. And when you ask her about Cedar Lodge, she says that she loves living here and the help is amazing.

My wife's been in full time residency for about two months and, overall , I'm pleased with the care and attention that she receives at Cedar Lodge . She always seems happy when I visit. It's good to know that Cedar lodge provides and manages a personal allowance bank account for items like foot care and hair dressing although I'm disappointed there's no hair dressers appointed at the time of writing as she could do with at least a dry cut. I think a little more attention could be given to ensuring that she doesn't leave her glasses in her room but wears them every day.

Today I've had a male member of staff called Grant shouting at me and making comments some sarcastic comments and general bullying. I'd like to report this to management as I've had a bad history of men in power abusing me. This is sent from the lines unit. It's not the 1st time and until I leave which I am hell continue and it scares me very much

Staff all very nice and genuinely seem to care about the residents. Care home is a bit dated but clean and homely feel to it. Food always looks nice. I am always offered a drink when I visit. I don't think the staff are able to give my mum the care she needs but this is down to mum's mental health and lack of support from wider authorities.

The limes unit is a wonderful place to be. The staff are caring and considerate. I am lucky to be able to better my life by staying at the Limes. The staff are friendly and its a comfortable atmosphere to be in. The food is excellent and for the first time in my life I have a quality of life which I didn't have before I moved to the limes. The manager is excellent at her job and has a lot of responsibility.

I feel very fortunate that my daughter is in the Limes. The Limes staff and especially the manager have helped and supported my daughter and she is now feeling better than she has for the past 25 years! What they've managed to do is turn her life around with patience and a structured environment. The Limes is a wonderful environment, a lovely atmosphere and the staff are amazing. I truly feel so lucky as I believe the Limes have saved my daughter's life!

My uncle came to live at Cedar Lodge Care Home in the summer of 2022 as was struggling to look after himself and was very vulnerable and at risk of coming to harm living in the outside world, and naturally family would always be worrying about him. All the family are happy with the care he gets and know that he is safe. He is also the happiest we have seen him.

My experience of the home is that mum seems happy, full of smiles. She enjoyed the singing and seeing the rabbit, holding it and stroking it. It seems that activity really cheered her up. She enjoys going for outings and having a bath. Everytime her nails are painted mum shows them to me and smiles. The staff seem to pay attention and help mum when she is upset.

The care Mum receives is outstanding. She is treated as an individual not just a resident. They keep us updated at all times and consult us regarding ongoing care and any health concerns.

Their care also extends to us as a family, we know Mum is in safe hands and well cared for,

My dad has been living at Cedar Lodge for almost two years. It has been hard for him at times as he gets very anxious but the staff have always been so kind and reassuring. They have encouraged him to make decisions for himself whenever possible. I find that there is good communication from the lodge regarding my dad's needs, and if there are any changes in his care I know he is safe and content at Cedar Lodge.
