Alderbrook Care Home is newly opened and my sister came to the home in it's early stages, albeit it's adjoined care home was fully functioning.
Initially, there were several areas of concern as new management, nurses and carers were employed.
April 2026. The new staff are wonderful, caring and listening
to residents and family.
The home is excellently decorated, comfortable and clean.
Nursing and caring is excellent and residents treated with dignity.
Food very good and catering staff try to meet individual needs of residents. 10 out of 10 from us.

Please see the review I made in February
They have listened and taken on everything me and my mum suggested they do to improve and have done it! Now all residents have more fruit and less cake! As mum suggested. Also with a help from me and a generous friend of mine they now have a piano! We are planning
a little concert for the residents! Mum is very happy. She does worry about the costs and what will happen when she has run out of funds....
Reply from Simon Dixey, Home Manager at Manor House Nursing HomeThank you so much for your lovely feedback and continued support. Your suggestions have made a positive difference for residents, especially your mum. The piano has already brought so much joy and we are all really looking forward to the concert. We are so pleased your mum is happy at Manor House. We also completely understand the worries families can have around future funding and will always do our best to offer support and guidance where we can. Thank you again for your kindness and generosity.

Alderbrook has given our family real peace of mind, knowing our loved one is so well cared for. She has Down syndrome had a stroke and has dementia and spent 5 months in hospital. Prior to moving to Alderbrook, her weight loss had been a significant concern for us. Since moving there, the change has
been remarkable. She has gained weight and most importantly, she is happy, smiling, laughing and enjoying life
I visit most days and see the high standard of care. The environment is clean, welcoming and well maintained and her clothes are always fresh and promptly changed. The food is clearly prepared with care and very fresh, nutritious and varied, What truly stands out is the staff, from managers to nurses, carers and housekeeping, everyone shows genuine compassion, kindness, and dedication. The managers are approachable and hands on and nothing ever feels like too much trouble, which means so much to families like ours. There is a real sense of family and community at Alderbrook
Reply from Michelle Dexter, Interim Manager at Alderbrook Care HomeWe would Like to thank you for taking the time to provide such a thorough review of your Sister and her care within the home, with such heartfelt words. It is always lovely to hear such positive feedback about your Sister being happy, smiling, and enjoying an improved health, since joining the service. I will make sure to share your lovely comments with the whole team-they will be so encouraged to know that their dedication, kindness and compassion, has been recognised and appreciated by you and your family.

We were worried mum would not like going into a care home once her dementia was such that we could not keep her at home. However, right from the start we found the staff so warm and welcoming. Mum enjoyed all the different activities that were put on. She hardly spent any time on her room. The care
given was really good, and the nurses were on the ball, spotting problems early and arranging for the doctor to see her when needed.
Mum was always smiling and that's how we remember her at Manor House.
Reply from Simon Dixey, Home Manager at Manor House Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind words. We understand how difficult the transition into a care home can be, and it means a great deal to know your mum felt happy, engaged and well cared for. My sister has recently been moved from one cluster to a new one. She doesn't like changes as a rule and I was concerned at the thought of the trauma she may well encounter. It was the complete opposite. The staff gradually managed the transition over a short period and kept me updated with the progress.
To their credit the move was a complete seamless positive one and my Sister has settled like the proverbial duck to water. I can't thank the staff enough for their caring efforts. In no particular order, the Reception Staff, the Nursing team, Caring Team, Cleaning Staff and of course the Unit Manager and her team all give Limewood the excellent results that makes it, to quote a famous singer ' Simply The Best'. Thank you and keep up the good work.

Care team is amazing however I'm not so happy with the company that runs the admin side of things. They raised mum's care fees by 10% last year and then wrote to me for this year's review and left fees the same as last year - fair enough as 10% was well above the rate of inflation.
I received a bill
for April showing yet another 10% increase and when I questioned why I was told it was a 'blip' in the system and that fees had increased yet again.
We are contesting this as mum has limited funds and we can't sell her property as the bottom has fallen out of the market. Still ongoing as no one responds and I'm fed up to the back teeth with them. Care home is excellent, business management is very poor.

I live in Germany and was over to See mum for a week in March. I generally come twice a year to see mum and the Staff are always very welcoming. They do their very best to care for mum and try to keep her occupied which is very important as she was a mental health nurse for many years and is used to
always having plenty to do. Any Problems that worry me they do their utmost to solve. A lot of them are more like Friends which means a lot to me being so gar away. Limewood I would recommend to anyone looking for a clean, safe and caring Home for a loved one.

Mum has been resident at Limewood for two years. We are very happy with the care she receives and how settled she is. As mum's dementia has progressed she is non verbal and so it is really important to us that we feel confident in the care as she cannot speak for herself. I visit at different times
and days and mum is always neatly dressed in coordinating clothes. Her hair is usually washed, always brushed. She is always happy to see the different carers and smiles at them. Most importantly she seems peaceful and relaxed. She is eating well. Any issues are communicated to me quickly. The carers themselves are lovely and they always offer a drink when I'm there, and let me know what kind of day mum is having. We often talk about what mum was like when she was younger. Mums room is neat and clean, and the other residents on her cluster are all ladies who usually get on well together. There are regular activities both on the cluster and downstairs.

Cherrybrook Care Home

Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5
Cherrybrook is a lovely building, inside and out. The girls who give care were also lovely, as was reception, chef, cleaners and the laundry lady. Management however, left a lot to be desired. I found them poor and amateur. I had meetings with various managers, who seemed like they were listening, but
in reality, they weren't. They don't employ enough care staff in order to keep costs down and Cherrybrook must generate around £1.7million per year. On one particular visit, there were just 2 care staff for 19 residents! The manager reluctantly had to bring in a couple of agency staff. My brother passed away in Cherrybrook and not one of the managers offered condolences. To add insult to injury, 8 days after his passing, whoever it was from the office, sent an invoice for £463 for unpaid care!! So no, I would not recommend Cherrybrook Care Home.
Reply from Ruth Hardy, Customer Relationship Manager at Cherrybrook Care HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We would also like to extend our sincere condolences to you and your family at what we understand is a very difficult time.
We are sorry to hear that aspects of your experience did not meet the standards we aim to provide. Delivering respectful, compassionate, and person-centred care-particularly at such sensitive times-is central to our approach, and we take any concerns raised very seriously.
Please be assured that we have carefully considered the feedback provided and have taken steps to address this, ensuring our approach continues to reflect the high standards we expect across the service. We are committed to maintaining a stable, supportive environment for both residents and their families.
We value feedback as an important part of how we continue to improve and enhance the experience for those we support and their loved ones. If you would be open to it, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you further.

My Mum has been living at Stuart House for approx 18 months and I cannot fault the care and concern she is shown. At times she shows resistance in taking her meds and having her insulin administered . Stuart House have put plans , including changes in times in place to try and make this an easier intervention
for her . They have liaised with the nurses who come to the home daily to perform this to ensure it works for everyone .
Mum is taken regularly to a local church coffee morning which is so important to her and we are grateful for that .

Very good, I couldn't be happier with the way my husband has settled in and is being looked after. All aspects are A1 food, entertainment, staff, nurses, etc. Cleaning staff, laundry staff, etc.

Mum has been at Aspen Court for nearly 4 months and has settled very well. All staff, from management down, are approachable, kind and really care for the residents. She's put on weight and always looks smart and very well cared for. They strive to accommodate individual needs, and the activities/entertainment
are really fantastic. Mum sees a minister once a month and people from the volunteer library service, who provide her with books and chat to her. I feel totally at ease with mum being at Aspen Court and know she is safe and in capable caring hands.

Maplebrook Care Home

I am extremely happy with my Dads care at Maplebrook . He has dementia and challenging behaviours and have found Maplebrook the best carehome he has been in and this is his 4th carehome now . I find the staff very informative, caring , friendly and I honestly feel my Dad is a lot more relaxed here .
We have had some horrendous experiences in past homes and I am so glad we are out of that now. My Dad is not the easiest of residents due to his illness and I feel that they care and understand it's not him, it's his dementia that makes him act this way. In past homes I feel he has been hated and punished for his behaviours . I hope he never has to leave . My Dad seems the happiest he's ever been there and it's lovely to see . Thank you to you all for your hard work , it takes a special person to do that job daily and you all deserve recognition .
Reply from Amanda Rowley, Home Manager at Maplebrook Care HomeThank you so much for your very kind words, I'm so pleased that you feel that your dad is being cared for as he should, and this will continue whilst he is here with us, we want the best quality of care for all of our residents, which is what they all deserve, thank you again, this means a great deal to all of the staff.

We are really happy with the level of care my father is receiving at Limewood. The staff are excellent; friendly, caring and always happy to discuss with family, any issues with the health or care of my father. They keep us up to date with any changes to his medication or care. The Admin Staff and
Management team are also always friendly, approachable and happy to help with any queries we have had. Limewood has made 'dealing with dementia' so much easier for us as a family to deal with. After experiences of other care homes, we feel very fortunate that our father is cared for at Limewood.
