My mother spent just under a year at Limewood and the care she received was outstanding. The small clusters worked wonderfully for her dementia and meant the staff truly knew her, spent time with her and always respected her dignity.

When end of care was decided they went above and beyond. They quickly

coordinated with the district nurses, doctors and other services to make sure she was completely comfortable and that everything was managed smoothly. They took the practical pressures away so I could simply focus on being with her.

In her final week she was cared for with such kindness and the staff supported me too. Some even came in on their own time to pay their respects and share lovely stories about her which meant so much.

I did not realise how amazing they were until I saw firsthand the compassion they show every day. Thank you for understanding her dementia and frailty and for treating her as a person. I will always be grateful.

Reply from Claire Wilson, Manager at LimewoodThank you so much for your lovely review of Limewood. It was a pleasure to care for your mum. The staff really are compassionate and end of life care is very important to them.
I am so proud to be part of the team at Limewood and it is lovely that you have recognised such wonderful qualities within the team.

Dad moved into Limewood at the end of July this year, from a nursing home that had not been meeting his needs well at all. I can't stress enough the difference in the quality of care and the environment between the two places. I actually had a little happy cry at how lovely Dad's bedroom is at Limewood.
It actually feels like a home, rather than a clinical space. The carers and nurses are kind and knowledgeable and I feel very confident leaving Dad in their care. He is eating better than he has done in years - enjoying his food and eating at a table with others, rather than on a tray over his lap. I went on holiday with no worries at all about the care that Dad was receiving, for the first time in over a year. Thank you so much to the lovely, kind and friendly staff for giving me the peace of mind I desperately needed.

Manor House is a calm, caring, immaculately clean and well-led home. The staff are kind and very good at communicating with residents and their families. The staff are always smart and friendly, and they always seem joyful in their manner and several speak of their own experiences inspiring them to
do this job. Families are always encouraged to contribute thoughts when care plans are drawn up. Dad's dementia is the aggressive, pacing type. He is only ever met with kindness. He is never left alone. If he wonders, the staff go too. Accompanied on hospital visits. Comforted when upset. We can only speak of Manor House in the highest terms.
Reply from Simon Dixey, Home Manager at Manor House Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind words. We are delighted to hear that you feel supported and reassured by the care your dad receives at Manor House. I will pass on your review to the team. My grandad has been on dunston for over two years now and I can't express was a lovely care home this is. They truly care about their residents the carers themselves are a blessing and the continuity the residents receives ensure that they've built relationship and trust. Myself and my family have no
complaints the residents get fair share of activities everyday and the best care. This is my grandads fourth care home and despite his dementia they've managed his behaviour so well that he's the best behaved he's been in the last four years he's put weight on and his memory hasn't declined if anything slightly improved. Any medical issues the nursing staff report and over winter he's had one chest infection in the last two years which compared to previously he'd have one in every month in winter. Thankyou to all the staff and your advocation for my grandad it's truly seen and appreciated by our family.
Reply from Simon Dixey, Home Manager at Manor House Nursing HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such kind words about your grandad's care on Dunston. When my uncle arrived at Needwood House at the beginning of the year, he was a shell of himself. Months later, it's truly remarkable to see the transformation he has undergone. Working closely with the dedicated team at Needwood, we have watched him grow from strength to strength-something we once feared
might never be possible.
Due to the significant neglect he experienced in the past at the hands of other services, rebuilding trust was a challenge for all of us. However, the manager, his colleagues, and the wider staff at Needwood House approached this with unwavering transparency, integrity, respect, and honesty. Their consistent and compassionate care has not only brought peace and stability to his life, but has also made a world of difference to our family as a whole.
We are incredibly grateful for everything the team has done-and continues to do-to ensure he is safe, respected, and thriving.

My husband has been a resident at this wonderful care home for 15 months. After a terrible previous experience with a care home we were very dubious but we couldn't highly recommend Needwood care home more. The care they give my husband is beyond amazing. Every visit he is always in clean clothes, hair
cut, nails trimmed, the list is endless on how well he is looked after. All the staff are fantastic and go above and beyond even on his bad days! They have thrown him a 90th birthday party for family and we have celebrated our 70th wedding anniversary too, nothing is ever too much trouble.Thank you for all you do for myself, my husband and the family.

My father in law was admitted into Needwood last year. He went into restpite and it came apparent, they could not cope with his challenging behavious. He was moved to Needwood, where straight away we could see a difference. His behaviours stayed challenging but they got to know him and us as a family.
We visit regularly and speak regularly with the home. They keep us upto date with everything that is going on. We also recently had to go through a challengin process to secure my father in laws funding and they were very supportive and helpful. They explained processes to us etc which was helpful as it was a very stressful process. My father in law is very settled here and as a family we would not wnat him anywhere else. The support and 121 care he gets is excellent and lovely to see how friendly the team are with him and he smiles with them and seems happy. this gives us some peace of mind. We are extremely grateful to the team.

My Dad was admitted to Needwood House when it became clear that his previous home could not manage his challenging behaviour. Right from the start we as a family felt reassured that he was cared for as an individual and that he was safe. He's been completely reassessed and is much more engaged and involved
in day to day life. The carers are fantastic and we feel that they're genuinely interested in Dad's life and really want to know how to make him happy. His care is tailored to him, he just looks more like my Dad than he has done for ages, I can't thank everyone enough for what they're doing. It means so much, particularly when I live so far away. I feel that this is the high level of care and kindness that everyone deserves. This is not an easy job for anyone to do, and I'm very grateful that you all turn up with humour, kindness and respect. Thank you also for the lovely photos of Dad's trips to the park and activities, it's wonderful to know that he's enjoying these
