Campania ARBD Care Home in Weston-Super-Mare gives specialist support for people living with mental health conditions such as Korsakoff’s syndrome and the effects of Alcohol-Related Brain Damage (ARBD).

Housed in a large Victorian building just a short walk from Weston-Super-Mare’s seafront, Campania offers a welcoming and supportive environment where residents can work towards greater independence.

Residents take part in a wide range of activities, from art classes and baking to cooking nutritious meals — a key step towards developing independent living skills. The activities coordinator also organises weekly outings, including swimming, bowling, cinema trips, country walks, and visits to local sites of historical interest.

Independence is encouraged through involvement in everyday tasks such as laundry, housekeeping, and gardening, all carried out with the guidance and support of staff.

The home features a large lounge stocked with books, newspapers, and magazines, as well as a spacious conservatory and a courtyard garden — lovingly maintained by residents.

My sister is a resident at the home.
The staff are always attentive and supportive to her wellbeing. If I call and enquire about my sister I receive a prompt and professional response that always satisfactorily addresses the matter in hand.
My sister is cared for at all times and has a good balance
of social, care and support that gives me confidence that her needs are being satisfied.

I've been staying here for a few months for alcohol related brain problems, and I have the pleasure to say that all the care here, from waking to bed time is especially good, no not good it is fantastically great. My brother is a permanent resident at Campania. At all times, he is treated with respect, compassion, care and friendliness. Although he doesn't always remember the names of the carers, he knows he likes them. He appreciates everything they do for him, as do I! I know he is safe, and well looked after,
and when I visit, I am always greeted with a smile and a friendly word by carers.

My brother has been in this Campania home for over 18 months. He is settled there and enjoys the environment, the excursions and outings. He is happy.
The manager is a shining ray of light and has been absolutely brilliant, caring and proactive with his complex care needs.
The staff are all lovely
welcoming and cheerful. They have all been very supportive to me, as we do not live nearby but any updates in either direction are always dealt with perfectly.
He is definitely in the right place for him whilst they work with doctors and support team etc to help find an all-round routine that supports his needs. It's not been easy as he has complex issues.
The upgrades and ongoing changes to the home have given it a bright, welcoming cosy atmosphere and the other residents seem really content too.
I can only give them the biggest thank you.

Campania is set up specifically to cater for the needs of a wide variety of people of all ages who suffer from Korsakoff syndrome/dementia. This means that residents of many different ages and from different backgrounds need to feel comfortable in their surroundings. Campania does an excellent job of
meeting their needs. The staff are wonderful: intelligent, friendly with a big dose of common sense.
My friend has been in their care for over five years, and she has been kept safe and secure in a manner that has not impinge on her individuality.
