My mum has been in The Towans for around 4 years now and is extremely happy there and far more outgoing and social than she has been for years. This is due to the amazing staff who are always friendly and helpful. There are loads of different and imaginative activities that she enjoys taking part in. The building and grounds are beautiful, and Mum has a lovely light room. It is good to know that she is safe, happy and well looked after.
We are so pleased that your Mum continues to enjoy her time with us and that she has seen some significant benefits to being within a home setting. It also means so much to our whole team to know that you are reassured knowing she is safe and well with ourselves.
Everything about my mother's stay in the Towans has been superb. She was very anxious when she arrived but the commitment of the staff quickly eased her initial fears. Throughout her stay she has been well looked after and staff go out of their way to ensure her needs are met. I would have no hesitation recommending The Towans.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our home. We love nothing more than hearing how happy families and our residents are with the care received. It is a huge change for everyone concerned when loved ones move into a care home and we are here to help make the transition as easy for everyone as possible. We will be sure to pass your lovely comments on to our staffing team.
The Towans itself is a lovely, mature building with a warm homely traditional vibe. This together with an amazing body of staff makes it a perfect place for my mum who has been a resident for almost two years. Over this time Mum has had two stays in hospital. The staff worked hard on both occasions to get her back to The Towans as soon as possible so that they could ensure her recovery. On every visit or on any time I collect Mum and return her, she is welcomed back with a lovely greeting and she always smiles and seems to be relieved to be back. There is always something going on and the constantly updated social media page backs this up! Lovely photos of all the activities from music and exercise to live singers and dancing. The activities organiser does a fantastic job. I have a lot of contact with one particular member of staff who has been an amazing support to Mum and myself throughout the change from Mum living with us to now living at the Towans. I highly recommend the Towans.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful review, we can't tell you how much these mean to our staff. We really do have such an amazing team who go above and beyond what is expected of them and they are mainly responsible for the extended family atmosphere that is so often commented on at The Towans....
So pleased with the way everyone at The Towans has taken care of my aunt since she moved in 3 months ago. There's been a lot of changes in her life - from living independently, and driving just months ago, to now surrendering her full-time care to these people, and I can honestly say the team have worked hard to help her adjust, fit in and feel part of their family. One staff member in particular and her team have gone above and beyond what we could have expected any care home to do and have done it all with a smile and exceptionally good grace. We cannot fault them, and the care given has been perfectly tailored to providing my aunt with everything to adjust to this new phase of her life. I completely recommend The Towans, and the staff member mentioned previously is the glue that keeps everything running smoothly. she is a pure gem and cares deeply for each resident - which is so reassuring. Thank you for all you've done, it's lifted a weight off our minds to know how well she is taken care of - I'd give you 6 stars if I could!

My mum has been a resident at The Towans for 16 months now. She enjoys living there, has a lovely sea view room and the company of other residents when she wants that. Mum was unable to continue living alone in her supported bungalow and The Towans was the obvious place for both her and us, living close by. The staff are amazingly friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. If a problem arises, they are quick to deal with it, keeping me informed at all times which has been my request. The afternoon activities are interesting and varied. I've been to several of them and thoroughly enjoyed seeing residents getting involved, being encouraged to be active and engage according to their ability. The activities coordinator comes up with such a varied programme, always interesting and unusual! I enjoy visiting Mum, who is now 97. Certainly, she's flourished since being at The Towans. Food is plentiful and of a high standard. I highly recommend it!
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our home. We love nothing more than hearing how happy families and our residents are with the care received. It is wonderful to see and hear how well the change has suited our residents and we love it when families are local and can get involved in Towans life as well. We will be sure to pass your lovely comments on to our staffing team.
I really cannot rate the Towans highly enough. 5* doesn't do it justice. My Mum was a resident of The Towans for 3 years before passing away today. Whilst Mum was in hospital they pushed out all the stops to help get her back Home to the Towans for end-of-life care. Oxygen was ordered, the room rearranged, the bed sorted etc. When Mum passed away she was treated with the utmost respect and dignity. They have been kindness itself to me and our family. Really nothing is too much trouble. Finding Mum a place at The Towans is one of thd best decisions I made. A full and varied menu and activities everyday arranged. The whole team are fantastic. Thank you isn't enough.
It was a real honour to look after your Mum, thank you for trusting us with her life and her care. She was a real character and everyone still misses her. We were also pleased that she could end her days in the place she knew and surrounded by the people she knew so well and I am glad it helped you...
My mother enjoys her days at The Towans for respite care. All the staff are welcoming and always smiling. There is a wide range of daily activities, such as musical bingo, gentle exercises and visits from external entertainers. Special events such as Burns Night are also celebrated throughout the year. Residents seem happy and enjoy each other's company.
Thank you for such a glowing review, the social aspect of care homes is something many of our residents really enjoy. We do love hearing the home full of giggles and music on a regular basis! We will be sure to share your wonderful comments with our staff.
My mother has been living at The Towans for about two and a half years now. Over that time her health has declined and her needs have increased. However, the amazing staff always treat her with kindness, respect and humour. They know her well and are able to get the best out of her every day. Mum always looks clean and well groomed, she knows that the staff really care about her.
This is so great to hear. Thank you for your kind words and support - the fantastic staff team will be really pleased to know that the extra mile they go for all our Clients is so worthwhile and appreciated.
We visited The Towans Residential Home, Berrow Road, Burnham on Sea with a view to finding a good residential home for my stepfather moving there. We found the manager and staff extremely friendly and accommodating. The home is set in beautiful surroundings and the home has a homely, cosy feel. We would definitely recommend it.
Thank you so much for this review, we are a small independent home and do pride ourselves on having great staff who are very committed to keeping The Towans a lovely, comfortable home and the residents happy.
We would not hesitate to recommend The Towans Nursing home. They take exceptional care of my father-in-law. Staff always greet with a happy smile and have no hesitation in answering any questions we may have. Father-in-law says the food is excellent - it certainly looks good! The housekeeping within the home - cleanliness etc is very good. The staff all go the extra mile to make sure that our loved one is safe and happy. They have managed and continue to manage the Covid pandemic extremely well.
We are very glad that the family are so pleased with the care and consideration shown to their loved one, even through these trying times. The staff have gone the extra mile to keep people safe and happy. With the excellent relationships the home has with the supportive health teams coming into The...
Whilst Mum didn't want to go into a home, she now regards it as a godsend. All of the staff cannot do enough for her and her family are so pleased with the care and attention she receives. We cannot fault the treatment she receives so would recommend this home, without a doubt.
Thank you so much for the review and we are pleased that Mum has settled in so well, feels safe and finds the staff so supportive. We understand it is a big step to come into a home, especially in these strange times and that your family and your mother feel it was the best choice for everyone.
This is an excellent care home. It does what it says on the tin - it cares - in every aspect. The staff are very friendly and easily approached. The home itself is up to date and well cared for. My mum is happy to be there, and that makes the family happy. There is always someone around for a chat and a coffee.
Thank you so much for reviewing us with the great comments, and we are so pleased that Mum is happy and you and your family can relax and enjoy time together without worry. We are delighted that you find us achieving what we aim to achieve - happy and safe residents looked after by the brilliant, caring care team in a lovely setting.
This is a very well run home, clean and homely. Staff are always very friendly and offer a cup of tea and a biscuit. My brother is being well looked after, he is spotlessly clean and all his needs are being met. There is regular entertainment to keep residents occupied and plenty of areas within the home for residents to enjoy including the conservatory and outdoor space. I really can't fault the place.
Thank you for such a wonderful review. It really makes us proud of our Team when we get reviews like yours, we will be sure to pass on your kind words.
The home is brilliant at contact with relatives and nothing is too much trouble. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
We are thrilled your Aunt has settled in so well as a permeant resident and is enjoying all that life in The Towans has to offer, including her balcony with the sea view.
Knowing that she is safe there and being cared for in such a cheery way makes me feel very happy that she is with the Towans.
Thank you for the wonderful review. We love hearing how happy our residents families are with the love and care our residents receive. We like to think of us all as one big extended family.
Within 5 minutes of walking into The Towans for the first time, I knew this was the right place for my Dad. That was 6 years ago. I can sleep easy knowing Dad is receiving the best care from wonderful staff in a warm and homely environment. The social side is also exceptional.
Thank you for the lovely review. We are very happy that you are reassured by us caring for your Dad.
My father came to Towans after a spell in hospital after a fall at home. The staff have made him feel very welcome and he was soon back to his old self. His room has a sea view and he loves to watch the people on the beach. Dad likes to stay in his room and the staff look in on him regularly and stay for a chat. The food is excellent with a choice of freshly cooked meals and a plentiful supply of tea and coffee. I am very pleased he is in Towans during this COVID-19 epidemic as they look after their residents so well, keeping them safe. I would recommend this care home to anyone.
Thank you for such a lovely review, Sandra. We will be sure to pass your kind words onto the staff.
I am so pleased my friend is residing in The Towans, especially during this pandemic. If she was at home it would be very lonely for her, she is so pleased to have the company of the staff and residents. It is nice to see that entertainment is still provided. I cannot speak more highly of all the staff who are always so jolly and friendly. I am told the food is lovely and I can confirm that from buffets I have experienced before covid. The staff can not do enough for the residents and visitors. It is lovely that they have erected an outside visitor building so visits can be held safely throughout the winter.
Thank you for the lovely review. We will be sure to pass on the kind words to our staff who have worked so hard to meet everyone's needs and more during this pandemic.
Mum has been at The Towans since January. We are really pleased with every aspect of her care. She has a lovely airy room with her own shower, which she really likes. The staff worked really hard to help her settle in and are always on hand, treating her with respect, patience and kindness. The food is great and caters for the residents' personal preferences, Mum enjoys the coffee and cake! We have always been made welcome when visiting. There are a variety of activities which the residents are encouraged to join in with. It is really lovely to see the regular updates on the Facebook page.
Thank you so much for the lovely review. We will be sure to pass on the kind words to our team; they'll love to hear what you have had to say.
This is an extremely special place and with hindsight we feel very lucky to have got mum in here.
As soon as you walk in you are made to feel so welcome, it is obvious that all the staff very much enjoy their jobs and care very much for the residents wellbeing.
The thought and effort they put in to keeping the residents entertained is fantastic. Especially during the very stressful current situation.
The food is lovely, having been sampled at the many social events we have attended!
They are a very special group of people and my sister and I are very grateful for the peace of mind they have given us during this very difficult time.
Just to know mum is being so well cared for in a safe and wonderful environment is priceless and to know she is so happy at what can be a very difficult time.
Thank you so much Towans!
Thank you for the lovely review, we are touched by your words.

Meet the Team (2)

I have worked in the care industry for over 28 years in Residential, domiciliary, and extra care settings. I joined the Towans as manager at the end of the summer in 2023, and am delighted to be working in such a wonderful home with a dedicated team of care professionals who are well respected by health professionals for providing outstanding care and support to our residents.

I have been at Towans for 10 years where I started as an apprentice and worked up into Management after gaining my Level 5. The best part is being able to care for so many individuals and give back to them as they have all their lives. I enjoy working with all team members and feel like I have grown up in Towans. Towans staff, residents and families become part of the Towans Team being included in the daily running of the Towans.
I try to be a problem solver and feel part of my new role recently is supporting the Families and residents alike but always being at hand for staff and any situations that arise to deal with appropriately and swiftly.
