My husband has been at Staverton just over three years after I transferred him after 3 months in a most unsuitable care home. The management and all staff across all levels are the best. Never had agency staff in 3 years. Husbands needs are increasing steadily requiring more nursing care as time goes on. I visit him every day and have no concerns at all.

I'm so happy my dad is at Staverton House. I am aware of how good it is because he was at another home before Staverton, so I have something to compare to. The best thing is the staff, they are all so genuinely nice, friendly and caring. Always the same staff, no agency workers, ever. They have outside entertainers that visit, these are always good. The place is constantly being cleaned and is spotless. I have absolute peace of mind that my dad is being well cared for.

We had been looking after my mother at home for the last couple of years, but realised we were no longer able to keep her safe so very reluctantly agreed a care home was the only option. The moment Mum entered Staverton House she was enveloped by the caring homely atmosphere and she relaxed and settled after a coup[e of days. The kindness and excellent care provided by the staff to my mother and our family was exceptional and I do not believe she could have been cared for better anywhere else. Every member of staff really cares about the residents, and have chosen to work with people with Dementia, which really shines through.

When Mum suddenly became unwell the staff were by her side, holding her hand and reassuring her right to the end - she could not have been in better hands. Care manager, Claire, and her team are amazing and made all the difference Mum and us all. Thank you.

My Mother has been at Staverton House for about 18 months now. She tried so hard to remain independent & at home but the progression of her illness & onset of dementia meant she needed full time care. It's was a very difficult decision for all involved but the love and care from the team at Staverton House made it all bearable & we were all soon smiling again. The care Mum receives is second to none as all of the staff are such lovely people that have become firm friends with her & all of us.
I've visited various care homes in the area all with slightly different ways of doing things, but I'm happy with the real family close knit atmosphere at Staverton House. Most importantly Mum's feels safe, loved & included.

Thank you all at Staverton House!

My mother-in-law has been at Staverton House for eighteen months. The building is homely rather than palatial which was a cause for comment by some. We quickly came to understand that this was focusing on the wrong thing as it is the care that counts. The staff, residents and relatives are a tight nit family doing the utmost for the residents to keep them, clean, safe and happy. We trust Staverton House with my mother-in-law and they never let us down.

Upon moving into Staverton House, my Aunt was made thoroughly welcome by the wonderful, caring and friendly staff. They have gone out of their way to make her feel at home and settled. Activities have been tailored to accommodate her needs and to make her feel useful and part of the family. We cannot thank everyone involved enough for taking such good care of her and for keeping us informed throughout. Although Staverton came highly recommended, it was reassuring to see what we'd heard, put into action.

The Staveton House care experience has always been a positive one. The staff are friendly and caring, both for the wellbeing of our mother and for us when we visit! They are empathetic, sympathetic and genuinely driven by a wish for the well being of the resident and their family.
Mum is always happy and (this is extremely important) feels safe. What more could you wish for?
Lets not forget this is a difficult and challenging environment the team have chosen to work in; they always conduct themselves with complete professionalism and discretion. Somehow they seem to be able to maintain a sense of humour!

In a word, Staverton House is exceptional

Since moving our mother to Staverton house we have been very pleased with the high level of care. The staff are very kind, the rooms very comfortable and quiet, and the food is excellent. Most importantly we are kept updated on any changes in mum's health, the doctor visits the home regularly and mum's needs are always attended to promptly.

When asked my opinion of Staverton House my answer is always the same - this is not a fancy most beautifully furnished care home, but it is the kindest most pleasant place anyone could possibly live. My husband of 62 years who has Parkinsons disease and Parkinsons dementia has been living at SH for over two years and I cannot recall having to complain about his treatment or care at any time, and there is no doubt in my mind that this is due to the training given by the Manager and her assistant and the careful selection of the staff she chooses to employ. Any request is dealt with promptly and the Managers are always available should I have any request. Nothing is too much trouble. Without exception the kindness and care given by the carers, and and the ancilliary workers at SH is exemplary and I strongly recommend it to anyone who has reason to have their relative in care.

This care home is a true gem. Foremost the staff are absolutely wonderful. Extremely kind with often complex dementia patients. All are treated with respect and humour. The atmosphere is warm and cheerful. It is a small facility so the staff know the patients really well. The team is very cohesive with superb managers who have been at Staverton House for years. Often there is a buzz in the house with so many cheerful staff around, meals and activities happening eg farm animals in a pen in the sitting room- lambs on residents' laps ! ball games, music and many arts and crafts sessions. The staff decorate the shared spaces with seasonal decorations so that the residents are aware of the time of year and also festive decorations for Christmas and Easter for example. The food is really good. The residents have freshly made baked goods at tea time too! Some of my father's family live abroad and biweekly at 9.30 am the staff connect us with him on Zoom which is fantastic for us and him.

The hardest decision anyone can make is to put a loved one into residential care. To know that they are well cared for and all their needs are being met is paramount.
Staverton House provides all of these things and so much more. The staff are literally amazing. The way they talk to my mum and all the other residents is nothing but admirable. Her care is exemplary; she is always clean and well-dressed and never just sat in her room alone. Time is taken every meal time to feed her without making her feel like she’s a child. Her dignity is of utmost concern to the staff, and they do this with such love and care.
Her mind is kept active with all the activities that are organised; she can sing, clap and laugh along with the staff and other residents.

The management is of the highest standard, and the staff are just wonderful. I am in awe of what these girls and guys do on a daily basis. The decision that my dad and I made to put Mum into Staverton House was the best decision we have ever made.

I cannot praise Staverton House enough. The atmosphere is so lovely! Management has created a wonderful place where relatives with dementia are not just treated with respect, but are allowed to be themselves and are not forced into any strict regime. Residents find that fun and enjoyment is always close at hand. The staff are just brilliant and you couldn’t ask for a better place!

My dear dad has been a resident of Staverton House/the Old Vicarage for 5 years.
The love and care given to my dad by all of the staff has been exemplary, so much thought is given to each resident's care allowing them the opportunity to flourish and enjoy their lives despite their various medical issues.

The many activities from pancake making, Christmas parties, gardening, visiting animals etc are fully enjoyed by all, with families included at events throughout the year. We could not be happier with Dad's care, a proper home from home.

My husband had stage fice kidney disease, insulin dependence, diabetes and Alzheimer's. He had become unmanageable at home and had been in respite elsewhere, who were threatening to evict him. I visited Staverton House with a friend and immediately felt cared for. The manager offered him a place, even though she knew about the problems elsewhere. He was welcomed into the family, and his challenging behaviour was managed with sensitivity, humour and patience, and I was reassured it was nothing that had not been seen before. I cannot thank all the staff enough for their care of my husband and myself.

Initial visit, we received a friendly welcome. The managers gave my friend plenty of opportunities to discuss her relative needs. The manager showed empathy and a professional approach. The staff we met seemed friendly and enthusiastic about their role. There were activities, including massage, nails being varnished and the activity coordinator spending one-on-one time with a resident.
