Staverton House is a specialist designed luxury care home for people with dementia and related illnesses.

Staverton House is part of Fidelia Care Ltd.

Staverton House has been built to the highest standards. Colour and visual prompts are used to enable residents to retain their independence, and regain a sense of achievement.

The home is situated between Bradford-on-Avon, Trowbridge and Melksham but with the usual village amenities close at hand.

All bedrooms are generously proportioned single rooms with en-suite shower rooms and all have TV, telephone and data points. There is a dedicated activities co-ordinator and regular outings, crafts and music. With only 20 residents, every aspect of a resident's life will be seen as a positive experience, however small the achievement. Self-esteem and independence are essential to the well being of the residents.

There is a secure garden which has been designed with many thought provoking features including a wild garden, wandering paths, fruit trees and a safe water feature.

Staff are highly experienced and motivated, with emphasis on recruitment, retention and staff development. All staff are trained to nationally recognised standards.

Visitors are welcome at any time.

Pets are welcome.

We come to the home every day. We are greeted warmly and welcomed. Anything new we need to know, we are either told straight away or I have a phone call. The carers are kind, caring and efficient, seeing to my mum's every need. They carry all our worries, as we know they all do their very best. When
Mum went into the home we had 3 basic wishes - for her to be safe, comfortable and fed. All of these things and much more are provided. We are very grateful to everyone at Staverton House.

I moved my uncle into Staverton House a month ago as he was becoming very forgetful and lived over an hour’s drive away.
He has a lovely, bright, cheerful room with his own ensuite which he loves.


The staff are caring and understanding and getting him involved in doing things as in his home he had

become a recluse. They have walked with him to the local pub and had lunch which he very much enjoyed as he used to do this when he was fit and able. He has his daily paper and appears so much more relaxed. The meals are fabulous he says and finally is putting the weight back on that he lost.


I can’t praise the home highly enough and want to say a BIG thank-you to them. They helped me when I needed help too. You are all wonderful.

As a family, we are very pleased with the care our mother receives. It is a relief to know she is in a safe environment. Staff are polite and always ready to answer any questions we may have.

This is a very well run home. The staff are caring and genuinely concerned with the wellbeing of their residents. The home is clean and well maintained and the accommodation is generous. The atmosphere is relaxed allowing the residents free reign with the minimum of interference, but not at the expense
of the supervision. The regime is very flexible allowing residents to feel comfortable in what is, after all, their home. Highly recommended.

My partner and I have been together for over forty years. The last two and a half years she has been in care I have seen her every other day, the first home, which was a really nice home, but some way from Trowbridge, so we had her transferred to this home. Med sized home, very warm and friendly home,
she settled in very quickly. Her room nice size, also a good garden. Staverton House is one of the best in Trowbridge and she is very happy there.

I could not wish for a better place for my husband, it is spotless in every way. Good food and wonderful carers that I can call day or night. They all speak so lovingly to my husband. The social entertainment to stimulate them is wonderful. Top marks for all. Well done Staverton House.

We moved my aunt into Staverton House 1 year ago. The Manager of the home welcomed us, gave us a guided tour, and made us feel very happy with the home. My aunt's dementia has improved immensely. At one time she would not leave her room at the old home. Now she interacts with others in the lounge, is
taking her medication, and her general health has improved.
The staff cannot do enough for both the residents and the relatives, who are welcome at any time of the day. They have just held a fete at the home which raised money to treat the residents. If my aunt needs anything, or there are health issues, the management team are straight on the phone. They update us regularly, and also include us in events should we wish to attend.
My aunt has a lovely room with an en-suite upstairs, and it is always kept very very clean and tidy. The staff use aprons on the residents to prevent food spill ages, and monitor their well-being constantly.

Since moving my mother into Staverton House I have been very impressed with the facilities and staff. What has impressed me most has been the time and attention the staff have given me - as in I feel they have educated me and seen to my needs and they constantly keep me up to date with my mothers status.
As I sign in they always take the time to inform me of my mums present status i.e. whether she has bathed, eaten or her present state of mind.

Claire Ross

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2018

Claire has been the Registered Manager at Staverton House since 2018. With over 20 years of experience in the care sector, she began her career as a Domiciliary Carer and, through dedication and hard work, progressed to become a Registered Manager in another care home in 2016.


Claire holds a Level 5 in Leadership and Management in Health & Social Care, equipping her with the skills and knowledge to lead our team with professionalism, compassion, and vision.


In addition to her management role, Claire is also a Mental Health First Aider at Staverton House, offering vital support and guidance to our team and residents’ families when it’s needed most.


We are proud to have Claire leading Staverton House with such dedication, empathy, and commitment to high-quality care.

Neil

Neil Harden

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2021

After serving in the Armed Forces for 26.5 years until 2017, Neil began a new career in the care sector. Starting as a Support Worker with young adults with Autism, he later moved into dementia care, progressing through the roles of Care Assistant and Senior Care Assistant.


In September 2021, Neil joined Fidelia Care as Training Manager, supporting staff development and learning across the organisation. Recognised for his dedication and leadership, he was given the opportunity to step into the role of Deputy Manager in February 2023, a position he has proudly held ever since.


Bringing valuable experience from both military service and the care sector, Neil is committed to ensuring the highest standards of care, supporting the team, and making a positive difference in the lives of residents.

Shelly

Shelly McLelland

Job Title: Ancillary Manager Joined: 2007

Shelly has been the Ancillary Manager at Staverton House since it opened in 2007. She manages the catering team and also the housekeeping and laundry team.
