A few months ago my very independent dad suddenly lost more of his mobility. He went into Lady K initially for respite to allow me time to make suitable arrangements for him. He's a very private person who is not one for socialising and prefers to have his meals in his room. He soon became comfortable with the lovely staff that to our amazement he decided that it would be best if he could stay. We didn't think that this was possible but with the help, support and kindness of the managers and staff dad is now a permanent resident. A few months further down the line he is now occasionally taking part in a few activities and may go out on the next trip. Ideally he would like to be back in his home it's a big change in his life but he's doing really well, he's safe and looked after 24/7. I can't thank everyone at Lady K enough for everything they do

When my elderly aunt made the decision to move into a care home after the death of her husband she and I chose Lady Katherine Housing and Care as I was familiar with the home and knew if its good credentials; we were not to be disappointed. My aunt's frail physical condition but sharp mental acuity was a deciding factor in her choice of living quarters - a self contained ground floor flat with full board and care and with easy access to beautiful, tranquil grounds.

Her food was excellent; freshly prepared and nutritious. My aunt's medication was professionally administered and managed and any concerns arising were referred to both of us. The home's weekly GP visit means that any resident with non urgent issues can be checked out. More serious concerns are swiftly addressed. Staff at Lady Katherine are kind, professional and well trained in their specific roles. On my many visits to Lady Katherine I witnessed a standard of care second to none overseen by its wonderful leaders. Thanks

My mum recently spent four weeks in respite care at Lady K and had a very positive experience. The staff were kind, caring, and attentive, helping her settle in and feel comfortable throughout her stay.

Mum has mild dementia, and the team took the time to get to know her, treating her with dignity and respect. She was also suffering from leg ulcers when she arrived, and thanks to the excellent care she received, they cleared up during her stay.

Mum thoroughly enjoyed her time at Lady K and speaks very highly of the staff. We are extremely grateful for the care she received and would happily recommend the home to others.

We feel very lucky to have found Lady Katherine Housing and Care - it feels a really special place. The team of carers are kind, compassionate and caring. The management team seem very proactive and have a good awareness of the needs of Mum. The activities programme is varied and runs daily throughout the week. Mum particularly likes the links with the local community - the local school children visit weekly and there is a weekly communion service in the home.
The setting is lovely. The meals are great.

It feels a happy place.

During a very difficult time with our family we needed to find care for my mother who suffers with Alzheimers Disease as my father was very ill. Lady Katherine went to great lengths to accomodate her for respite at very short notice. Mum has been with them now since April and remains there long term. We are so grateful for the incredible support all of the carers and staff show to mum. She is very settled and there is always positive and stimulating activities for all the residents. Always welcoming when we visit and we feel great comfortable knowing that mum is very safe and well cared for in her new home.

Exception care provided for my mother from an exceptional team. There's nothing that the team wouldn't do to make my mother feels comfortable, just ask. My mother was nervous when she first went in, unable to communicate with the team due to language barrier. However, she becomes more confident each day and tries her best to communicate 5 weeks in. I can't thank Lady K enough for lessen my burden in looking after my mother. Thank you to the whole team.

Absolutely excellent care home, so welcoming and friendly, my Uncle has settled in well. We feel that as a person suffering with dementia that he still has some freedom to walk round the courtyard and also mix with non dementia people, something that wouldn't have been possible anywhere else.
He always looks clean and happy and he says he's never eaten so well in his life!
It's a great relief to see him happy, warm, safe and making friends.
Excellent service!

Kirsten.

My mum is staying at Lady Katherine Housing & Care for respite care and I couldn't be more grateful. The staff are incredibly kind, caring, patient, supportive and compassionate treating mum as well, if not better, than I could myself. Mum's health has improved greatly during her stay. Leadership team and staff are all very approachable and easy to communicate with. If there are any minor issues they are dealt with quickly - nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended.

This is the second review I have completed. The first one was critical of certain aspects of the care afforded to my wife. The recruitment of some excellent carers has made an enormous difference. I now think I understand that certain protocols and procedures need to be applied before changes/improvements can be made. If this had been made clear to me long ago I would have understood how I could help.

It was Mum's first time in respite and she was frightened and we were really worried about her but right from the get go Mum was put at ease. The lady were kind, patient and reassuring and did all they could to make Mum feel "at home" and at ease. I can't thank you enough for helping us out and particular thanks must go to Sal who looked out for Mum and even let her sit in the office when she was feeling overwhelmed. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this fantastic place to anyone in the same situation , thanks again.

The staff are not only professional and attentive, but they genuinely care about the residents. It's clear that this is more than just a job to them. The facilities are always clean, bright, and thoughtfully arranged. My mother has her own private room, which she is able to personalise with her favourite belongings, and she feels right at home. The gardens are beautifully maintained and provide a peaceful retreat where she enjoys sitting with other residents or reading a book.

A beautiful period building with many original features and a safe, secure grassed court area. The lounge is always busy and social, the food well prepared, fresh and tasty. Activities are well planned and fun. The standout however is the staff. They are all compassionate, caring, helpful and supportive. This is a residence that is a home, rather than a facility where people are segregated according to their level of dependency. Keeping all residents together and in touch with each other. This leads to a sense of community and fellowship rather than isolation and loneliness. It is a happy place.

I was granted a place for independent living at this address in November 2024. From the first communication with the Deputy Care Manager and her team, I have experienced the utmost kindness and courtesy. The accommodation is quiet, comfortable and well-heated, and the option of various services like cleaning, tasty and well-prepared hot meals, and full respite care, the facilities are wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend Lady Katherine facilities to anyone worried about their loved ones. They will be happy and well cared for by clean, well maintained and wonderful staff. I cannot praise them enough for their welcome and kind support.

We have recently moved Mom into Lady Katherine Care Home from another care home where Mom was a resident for nearly 3 years. We were very concerned for Mom's well-being at her previous home as staffing levels were unacceptable and we felt Mom was being neglected. I had heard only good reports about Lady Katherine's home so I decided to pay a visit and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I met the manager and staff I have been shown such kindness and understanding. It's not an easy process having to move a dementia patient but they have handled the process professionally and efficiently. The difference in the care my mom is now receiving is such a relief to me. Daily activities help my mom's well-being and carers are always there to help her. Nothing is too much trouble including a constant supply of tea and biscuits! The level of care is outstanding I could not be happier.

Lady Katherine's is a very special place. My lovely Mum has been a resident for 8 years and I'm so glad my Dad found and chose this home for her. The facilities are good, the rooms comfortable, the meals great and there are lots of activities and trips. But most importantly the team is amazing. It really does feel like a family. Nothing is ever too much trouble, everyone is really supportive and open and the carers and medical staff put a lot of effort into understanding my Mum and her needs and working out the best ways to manage them. My Mum has made friends with both residents and staff and I know she is not just receiving top-quality professional care, but she is also happy and content.

Lady Katherine Care Home is situated in the countryside, with historic beginnings. A warm welcome, caring staff which she observed when choosing to stay long term since 2018.
She was always treated with respect, dignity and love by all the staff, especially at difficult times.
The home, in its cleanliness, laundry and housekeeping was always excellent.
The management team's communication and face-to-face contact kept us well-informed.
The special occasions are celebrated in style.
There were daily activities to participate in, but latterly she enjoyed the singing at each opportunity.
As her days faded, the palliative care she received from the staff was exemplary. The constant care, personal attention, and every aspect throughout was given with the utmost compassion, gentleness and kindness that anyone would wish for their loved one to receive.

I and my family will be forever grateful for each and every day my mother spent with you all. Thank you.

The building has a lot of history and certain areas could do with modernising.
I appreciate that this would be difficult to do. The entrance area and downstairs toilet are small and often congested.
It is good that the residents are all together in the lounge rather than alone in their rooms. The choice is there for them, however.

The staff are always cheerful and helpful to visitors and residents. Many of the staff have worked there for a long time so management would appear to be good.
