When my husband was admitted for full-time care it was one of the worst events in my life but the carers at Homestead not only looked after him with empathy and kindness, but they also looked after me. He is treated with kindness and dignity, in a safe and relaxed environment. There are activities more
or less every day, which keep the residents engaged and happy.
I feel very lucky that he is so well cared for.

I visited my Auntie for the first time today and was very impressed with the lovely and relaxed atmosphere at The Homestead Care Home. All the staff I met seemed lovely and treated all residents with respect and genuine interest.
Nothing appeared to be too much trouble and the manager was involving
all residents in the lounge I was in, in a game, which I thought was a wonderful idea. I applaud you all, not an easy job at all. Well done, I feel much happier knowing Auntie is in your care. Thank you all.

The care that my mom receives at Homestead Care Home is second to none. She has had periods where her health has deteriorated and the staff made sure that medical attention was sought immediately. My mom has vascular dementia which at times can make her upset and difficult to look after but the staff
do their best to make her feel safe, settled and happy. Whenever I visit she is always clean, well dressed and has always had a delicious home made meal. The staff communicate any important information to us about our mom and we have always had a good relationship with the carers and management. They really are a great team and provide a really personal level of care. There is always a friendly face when you visit. I would have no hesitation in recommending Homestead to anyone that is looking for somewhere safe, comfortable, welcoming and happy for a member of their family.

I work at the sister home of Homestead Care Home and had the pleasure of working within Homestead throughout the first few weeks of December. The care, environment and staff are outstanding and was blown away by the love and compassion shown within the home. Every day the home has amazing activities
and entertainment, and it is so lovely to see how happy and content the residents are and the beautiful bonds that they have with the staff. I would highly recommend Homestead.

My dad has been here just over twelve months. He settled well right from the start. The staff are all very friendly and caring. The manager has always been very kind and helpful. The staff always make us feel comfortable when we visit and seem to engage well with all the residents. We are always kept
informed of any changes with Dad's health or care.

The service provided and care shown by the entire team at Homestead has always been first class. It is obvious from my wife's reactions to input from all members of the Care Team that she feels comfortable and settled at Homestead. This, in turn, gives me peace of mind knowing that she is being well
looked after. The team members are always able to answer any queries that I might have without having to check with others, showing dedication and total involvement. There has always been total compliance with Covid regulations as applicable.

My wife has now been a resident for four months. Apart from short 'respite' occupancies, this is her first permanent residence in a care home. She seems to be settled and content with the home and care staff. She changed to an en-suite room recently and I hope she will settle in. I find her answers
to my questions, sometimes produce unreliable answers. She still 'picks' her arms; this has been an ongoing problem, yet to be resolved. Because of her ongoing skin problems, we the family would prefer she has a daily shower, if at all possible.

My uncle has been a resident for 4 years. He has advanced Alzheimer’s, on moving to The Homestead he has been very content and settled.
The management and staff are great and have done a fantastic job during the very difficult Covid period. I have been able to visit in a way that was safe for all
concerned and for that I am very grateful.
I recently had the chance to share a day out with my uncle and other residents, it made a lovely change for us both.
Thank you to the manager and everyone at Homestead.

The staff at the Homestead Care Home have always been professional, understanding and above all else, extremely caring. They treat the residents at the home with both care and dignity and will go out of their way to be friendly to all of the residents. The home is clean and well maintained and there
has been considerable maintenance work going on recently to improve the standards still further.
Whenever we visit the home the staff are always welcoming and friendly and always seem to know where each of the residents is at any one time.
My mother took a while to settle in but that is down to the individual and not the home/staff, but now she seems to be in a better place mentally than when she first entered the home. We can't speak highly enough of the staff and would thank them for all they have done and continue to do.

My dad has been a resident at Homestead Care Home for 15 years. It is his home and the carers are like family to him and him to them. He is happy and well looked after. The home itself is a bright and pleasant space and the staff are professional and friendly.
I live in Spain and the team always keeps
me updated and are happy to take my calls and visits if I've just finished work or turn up straight from the airport! I know that Dad is in safe hands and that staff genuinely have his best interests at heart.
Throughout the pandemic, like many residents, Dad was high risk and needed to be shielded. The manager and her team at Homestead were quick to act and stopped visitors, even family when required, in order to protect those in their care.
I would recommend Homestead to anyone looking for a new home for their loved one.

Yes, the building is bright, inviting and comfortable, but it truly is people that make it a home, with a truly remarkable team providing an exemplary service but above all, love and care for all their residents. On a personal note, I can not praise or thank the team enough for getting my 89-year-old
auntie, whom tested positive with COVID and who has a variety of ailments/health conditions, through such a terrible time, in which she has now come out the other end and is now happy and glowing again.
Thank yous so much from all of us.

I have peace of mind knowing that my mother is looked after so well, she is happy and content there and she feels safe. I am really pleased that we chose this home

This really does feel like home. The staff are always caring and helpful and it is very well maintained and the decoration is very well done. They provide lots of entertainment and different activities on a daily basis.
The food is very good quality and they provide a varied diet.

My dad has been at Homestead now for around two years. Dementia is a cruel disease and changes your loved one so much. Unfortunately, dementia made my dad quite difficult to handle however in all his time here I can honestly say he has been treated with respect, consideration and care. Many members
of the care team have been here a while and work so hard and whenever I have been there, they have always had a smile, sometimes under even quite trying circumstances. We looked at several homes and I am so glad we decided on Homestead. Thank you to the team.

Homestead Care Home provides excellent care for my aunt who has vascular dementia. They treat their residents as if they were one of their own family. They are very patient, helping the residents to do everything for themselves if they are able to and keeping them stimulated with a variety of regular
activities including day trips. As a family member, nothing is too much trouble when you visit the home or phone/email with enquiries. During COVID-19 and isolation, they have been innovative by providing video calling for their residents to keep in touch with their families whilst at the same time keeping their staff and residents safe. The home itself is very clean and the furniture is both practical and comfortable. I would have no problem recommending anyone to Homestead Care Home for themselves or their relatives.

My husband, diagnosed with mixed dementia 5 years earlier, moved to Homestead Care Home straight from hospital. He was welcomed into his light and airy room, well furnished and with en-suite facilities, by patient caring staff, all of whom had an easy cheerful approach to their work. My husband settled
quickly into a routine enjoying the food cooked for him and joining the often stimulating and entertaining activities provided for the residents. Management I found extremely cooperative and friendly, willing to explain and reassure any worries I may have had. I really can't speak too highly of this care home and its management and staff.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.545)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.545) out of 10 for Homestead Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.670 for Homestead Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (127 Excellents x 5) + (45 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 179 Ratings = 4.67
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Homestead Care Home is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
