Woodlands Quaker Home is a non-profit home for older people owned and managed by The Society of Friends (Quakers).

The Main house with 35 residents, has served as a residential home since 1945 and is a Victorian listed building of charm and character. The Spinney located in the old stable block, is a 9-bedroomed self-contained unit for residents who have a severe dementia. Elsewhere in the same grounds is The Paddock,which comprises of 25 warden assisted flats.

Woodlands has a welcoming and homely atmosphere with an emphasis on quality care, comfort and security in a residential setting which is very much involved with the local community.

My mother spent 10 years of her life happily living in the Woodlands, in what was a caring environment. My mother made many friends from both the residents and staff. She took part enthusiastically in many of the activities, musical events, scrabble, whist drive, keep fit and knitting. She also enjoyed
the food which was a good standard. When she was more mobile she enjoyed the garden party and outdoor events. I can only thank the staff for the wonderful care that was given especially in her last few months in the home.

We are delighted with the care and support my father is receiving in the Woodlands. The atmosphere is most friendly and welcoming. The caring staff exude a calm competence which gives both residents and their family a sense of ease and confidence. Staff members are respectful and considerate and are
aware of residents needs and wishes as individuals. On our visit to the Woodlands before my father became a resident we were assured: "This will be your home and we want you to live here as you have always lived in your own home". This assurance has been born out in the flexibility and willingness demonstrated in accommodating individual desires and requirements.

This is the lighthouse in the care home. It is exceptionally clean, tidy and non-smelling and homely. My experience is that every aspect that could be received by a resident is there, and if it isn't there, it is obtained. The staff are wonderful, caring and very quick to notice a residents needs. An
exceptional home for all elderly people.

This home has looked after my wife within an EMI unit. They have treated my wife extremely well. The staff have been kind and very caring. The facilities in the EMI unit are excellent and whenever my wife has been distressed the staff have always helped to comfort her. Medication is controlled and
supervised and the food is always of an acceptable standard. Hygiene has been very good. Her room is excellent and kept clean. The carers have been quick to answer any of my questions and there are always sufficient (more than) carers within the unit. My wife has always been treated with dignity and respect.

My Mother was in Woodlands Care Home in the EMI Unit for nearly 2 years. We had to move her from the home to a nursing home as her mobility became very bad and it was felt she needed nursing care as well as care! We as a family we found the staff always efficient and always treated my Mother with the
utmost dignity.


The food was always very satisfactory as was the care! At times the carers were very stretched! The management team were very helpful and did their best to make sure my Mother's transition from care home to nursing home as smooth as possible.

My mother has been a resident at the Woodlands Quaker Home, Wolverhampton. My mother passed away in hospital at the age of 94 after suffering a fall. She was a resident for over 5 years and she received wonderful care, and as a family, we received great support. The staff are dedicated, professional
and empathic towards my mother and my family. I have always felt part of the 'Woodlands family' and feel heartbroken that this has come to an end. Management team very supportive. I would give the Woodlands 10/10 for everything.

My mother has been at the Woodlands for a year and during this time she has experienced a wonderful caring home. My mother is blind (no vision at all) and also a Coeliac. The Woodland management were clear, from the start that she would be made to feel at home, that they had other residents with either
vision problems and/or severe dietary restrictions. The staff have performed better than I could ever have expected and my mother in enjoying every minute at her new home. There are activities for the residents everyday, all the food is cooked on site. The staff are able to manage my mothers challenges with ease.

When my uncle needed full care, we were delighted to find Woodlands both welcoming and caring. Staff are universally friendly. There is openness in discussing my uncle's needs. As my uncle became less mobile, discrete assistance increased to meet his needs. The Woodlands is always clean and does not
feel like an institutional facility. When my uncle died, he was supported, as were we, by people he knew and liked.

I was looking for respite for my mom, on visiting the home everyone was very welcoming and it was like a homely reception. The manager is responsive to all individual needs and it is very well led by her. All the staff are aware of moms complete history and paperwork is kept up to date. Mom is very
settled with all the care and support she needs. I am very happy with my moms care at The Woodlands Quaker Home and Spinney. Mom is now a permanent resident there. I have told family and friends what a lovely place it is to care for loved ones.

The Woodlands is simply outstanding. I visit my friend all hours of the day and am always greeted with a welcome. The care and attention is second to none. The variety of activities on offer are wonderful and varied. The dignity of residents is utmost with all the staff who have worked there for a long
time.
I have witnessed genuine affection shown by staff to all the residents. Attention to detail is always evident and every member of the community is made to feel special. Specialist support is provided where needed and there is excellent communication between the home and myself. I cannot recommend the Woodlands enough!

Living close to the Woodlands, I was able to visit anytime. the staff were always helpful, nothing too much trouble in any respect. I always felt it was a peaceful, quiet place to visit. The residents always treated with dignity. For just over a year of my mum's stay, her final year, she was transferred
to the Dementia Unit, where the level of care was so good. When visiting, it was like being part of a big family. Four weeks before she died she went into hospital for two weeks, thinking, but hoping and praying this wouldn't be where she would spend her final days. The management were so helpful in getting her back to the Woodlands where they tried so hard to get her well again. I am very thankful to them and still visit. God took my Mum, she was a Christian, on Mother's Day 2015.

My 93 year old nana settled in straight away which we were very pleased with. The staff are all without fail so friendly and caring. They are so dedicated to their work and seem to enjoy working with the old people too. My nan has made lots of friends loves the food and enjoys walking around the beautiful
grounds several times a day. She likes chatting to the staff too. I'm so pleased we found this place- it is fantastic!

Woodlands Quaker Home has an excellent reputation in Wolverhampton and deservedly so. We feel very fortunate that my mother is cared for there. She has lived at Woodlands Quaker Home for a month and so far there has been a coffee morning, Halloween party, choirs, yoga and keep fit, something every day
in fact (she has a far better social life them we do!) We have been impressed with every single member of staff that we have met- they all go that extra mile. It's a home from home - only better!

Extremely welcoming and informative first visit, thanks to manager, mother's first full assessment by the deputy manager was very thorough, every detail recorded mother's requirements. The home has a lovely "homely" feel and provides extremely clean, comfortable accommodation in this beautiful old house
surrounded by a well tended grounds. The carers are very attentive and helpful - they deserve a medal for the sterling work they do in meeting the diverse needs of residents. The meals are excellent and the dining tables are nicely set out. The administrative staff and laundry and ancillary staff provide excellent service and the social co-ordinator provides a variety of activities. There is good co-operation between the local medical centre, the district nurses, optician and chiropodist. There is also a hairdresser. My family and I are extremely grateful for the dedicated service the home provides, which operates within the parameters of the Quaker ethos.

My mother has been at Woodlands for nearly two years now. During that time her health has unfortunately diminished. However the care of the team had been very good. The ability to have discussions with the manager on my mums daily care plan are always productive and even when times are tough and I feel
how she always finds the time to sit and chat which had been most appreciated and very welcome. Staff always listen to my concerns about mum and I know the team will do their utmost to care for my mum 24/7 which in itself is a great asset. So thank you everyone! I would thoroughly recommend anyone to come to Woodlands if they need a care home. Keep up the good work.
