My aunt has been a resident in the above for over 2 years, which is unbelievable. She is now 95 and it is due to the care and attention of this home as she was very fragile when she went in. The home is so well organised; lots of activities and encouragement to join in. Lots of the residents do feel like it is being in a hotel and I as a visitor agree. Even the outside grounds are really well cared for and make the colourful area a delight to look at. I am so pleased as it was not easy to put my aunt in a home, but she is very happy and fits in so well, I can only speak as I find.
I have some experience of other care homes and 'Swan Hill House' has been the best that anyone could ask for. My mother has been a resident here for 5 years and we have had no complaints during this time. The owner and staff are so friendly, approachable and professional. Also, they are 'ALL' aware of my mum's needs. We can go anytime and can see my mum is being cared for by dedicated, caring people.
The home and all the staff are very welcoming at all times providing and extremely homely atmosphere. There was just one instance when a carer spoke to my mother, who is currently waiting to have her ears syringed by the local surgery, mum said pardon, the carer then spoke to my mother as if she was a little girl, very condescendingly I thought as I was present. I did say "please don't speak to my mother like that as she was unable to hear you and is not simple". My mother has a very strong and wilful mind still. But on the whole, the home and staff cannot do enough to assist their residents with every need the might have.
This is a very lovely home, the residents are well cared for by the very kind and helpful staff.
