Immaculaty clean and delightful. I LOVE ALL MY VISITS. So calm and wonderful for everyone who has the pleasure of coming or staying. Since dad moved care homes he has become significantly happier and calm.
It is so lovely to read how happy you are with High Lodge. Your father is a pleasure to take care of. He is always happy and content. I will share you comments with the Team. Once again Thank you form all at High Lodge.
My mom spent the last 7 months of her life here living with dementia, and she was always happy, content, and treated with kindness by the care staff. As a family, we were so grateful for their open-door visiting policy and the neutral, supportive way management handled our family arrangement. They always put my mom's well-being first. When my mom moved to end-of-life care, the support went above and beyond. The manager even called me while I was on holiday to ensure I was kept fully updated on her condition, a level of personal care and dedication I will never forget. The entire team from the manager and secretary to the duty staff, treated a genuinely warm, family-environment. I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for compassionate care for a loved one.
Thank you very much for your lovely comments, it was a pleasure to look after your mother. We take great pride in all care, love and support given to all who live here at High Lodge. We are all part of one big family and I'm glad you felt that. Once again, thank you from all the team here at High Lodge.
Dad had been at High Lodge for almost three years, the staff we attentive to his particular needs with his Dementia/Alzheimers, they helped Dad and made my wife and I so welcome every-time we visited, we felt like part of a large family. Every member of the team from the nursing, carers, ancillary staff looking after the facilities, cooking, laundry were also so pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. The support to our family has been immeasurable and knowing Dad was safe, secure and being looked after took a massive amount of pressure of the rest of the family. We feel lucky to have had Dad stay there and have the support, love and care that all off the staff provided.
Always here for you. Once again Thank you for taking the time to leave such a beautiful review.
Earlier this year we got to the stage where mom couldn't manage at home any more with her dementia. High Lodge have been fantastic in helping mom settle in taking a huge weight of our shoulders. The food is tasty and home cooked and mom has even put some weight back on. We are always made very welcome when we visit and always feel we can approach the staff about any concerns we may have. Having a parent with dementia is a very hard situation but we believe she is in totally the right place at High Lodge.
Many Thanks for taking the time to give High Lodge such a lovely review. It means so much to the team to know that you and your mom are happy with the service we provide. Once again, Thank you from the whole team.
We moved my husband, into high Lodge about 1 month ago. He was previously somewhere else. Me & my family are so pleased we moved him from his previous place. It is 100% better care, the residents look happy clean and cared for. My hubby has settled in well. So far we notice the welcome when we visit him, staff are all lovely. Please keep up the brilliant standard of care. Thank you all
Thank you for your kind words and feedback. We strive to provided our residents with the best care at High Lodge.
My mother is extremely happy here. The staff are wonderful, and it is lovely to know she is safe & happy. The meals are excellent, and there is always something happening to keep residents active & entertained. If they are able.
Thankyou for your comments and taking the time to complete a review, they are always greatly received by the whole team here at High Lodge.
Mom was admitted for respite care due to her dementia. The home is absolutely lovely. The staff are so kind & caring and deal with some very difficult situations really well. The home is also very comfy and homely, making my mom and the other residents feel really comfortable and safe. Mom loves it here, and we are hoping to get her in on a permanent basis.
Thank you for your very positive review. I am so glad you are pleased with all the care and support provided her at High Lodge. It means so much to all the staff. Office Door is always open if you need us.
I'm delighted with the staff , services and all my dealings with High Lodge Care Home. Mom has dementia and suddenly, just under a year ago, could no longer cope with care at home. As we live such a distance from her , I had to choose a home quickly, based on reviews, phone calls and facilities available. This was quite daunting, but I've been absolutely delighted with the way Mom was welcomed into the High Lodge family and treated with love and dignity. The team are so caring and all medical needs are promptly addressed. I can contact them at any time and ask any questions, or speak to Mom. The quality of her life has been greatly improved by the company, activities and interactions she receives on a daily basis. The food is home cooked and delicious and residents have beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, and are I no longer have to fret about trying to meet Mom's many needs, knowing she is safe and well cared for. Thank you so much High Lodge.
I know It is hard when making that decision to place your loved one in 24Hr care, It is something you have to feel you made the Right Choice with, and that the family also feel confident with that choice they made - You obviously do.
I...
The staff are all kind. The home is very clean and there is a nice homely feeling. My mum is well cared for and there's lots of activities going on.

My gran moved in to high lodge care home in August 2024 she is very well looked and staff are attentive to all her needs I couldn't of asked for a better home she enjoys all the activities that take place. Staff make me feel very welcome at every visit always greetings me with a tea or coffee so I can enjoy my visit with gran. Thanks to the team for everything you do.
It's great to receive such nice comments, thank you for taking the time to let us know how you feel. In regards to the cuppa you are more than welcome. See you soon, from myself and the team.
My Grandma has been a resident at High Lodge since July 2024. Prior to that she was being cared for by my mom and that was becoming increasingly difficult. With her Alzheimers progressing she needed a safe environment where her needs would be met. The care she receives is exceptional and she is settled and happy. The staff are fantastic with her and welcoming to family members. She enjoys the food, activities and has a lovely room. It is reassuring for us all knowing that she is in safe hands.
Thank you for your kind words, It is nice to see that you appreciate what we strive to do at High Lodge Care Home. We always want our residents to feel at home when in our care. Nan has settled in lovely and made lots of friends and that is what it is all about. Thank you, once again from myself and the team.
They are always open and ready to share with us as a family how Mom has been. They have been very responsive, and liaise well with healthcare providers when there are health issues. Mom has settled well and enjoys that this is a smaller home environment, so often quieter. All the residents seem happy and content here, which is lovely to see. Thank you!
Thank you for your lovely comments. We strive to provide a friendly, caring home where all our residents feel safe and comfortable. A Home from Home.
Friendly care home. The staff genuinely care about the residents. My mom's room is lovely and she has fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Mom has thrived there and is now very mobile and happy. Mom enjoys the activities and has made many friends.
Thank you for your lovely comments. We strive to provide a friendly, caring home where all our residents feel safe and comfortable. A Home from Home.
My mother took on residence at High Lodge in February 2024 after a fall at home and spells in hospital and another care residence. Her health and mobility have improved enormously at High Lodge, as has her mental health. This has been due to the care and support she has received which has been excellent. She is well looked after and treated with care, respect and dignity.
Thank you for your kind words; we are so pleased you are happy with the care received at High Lodge. That you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Many Thanks
They treat all residents as individuals and are aware of their likes, dislikes and something of their history.
Happy with Mom's care but if there was an issue I would not hesitate to raise it with the staff or management.
Thank you so much for your compliments received; we pride ourselves in getting to know all of our residents individually and understanding what can be sometimes complex needs. We aim to approach all care support in a person-centered way, so that the individual is comfortable, and feeling a part of the High Lodge Family. Where they are free to express their needs and wishes without concern
The care received in High Lodge is very good. Health issues that arose due to her medical condition have all been dealt with very efficiently. My mom has settled in and enjoys the rural location with county views from her room. There is also a quiet lounge. Love the attention to detail in decoration of rooms. Have no regrets moving Mom and am very happy with the care provided.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. Myself and the team are very pleased you and your mom are happy with the service we provide. It is always a hard, difficult decision to make when choosing a New care home where you feel your mother will settle, be taken care of and fingers...
The staff/carers are wonderful, friendly, easy to approach and to talk to, they're happy to accommodate and help.
I feel at ease knowing that he's being looked after.
The setting is lovely, looking out onto fields, which makes it calming.
Thank you Louise for your kind words. It means so much to the team here at High Lodge Care Home that you feel this way. I know this was a very hard decision for you to make for your husband. The fact you took the time to leave this comment says it all. Rest assured we will continue to provide all the support he needs. It is our pleasure. Thanks again from all the team.
After visiting we feel we can walk away feeling totally reassured that my father-in-law is receiving the best care possible and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend High Lodge.
Thank you for this really heartfelt review from myself and the team. It is not an easy decision to make in the beginning as this is not what anyone wants. We all want to grow old in the safety of our own homes with family around us so when that decision is made you have to feel that you have sought...
Mom was a typical 93 year old, stubborn, set in her ways and sometimes quite grumpy, but we visited every day and she always told us the food was nice, her room was always spotlessly clean and the staff were all friendly. Unlike other care homes, the staff always made an effort to get residents out of bed and interacting with one another and there is a 'quiet room' for those wanting peace or for visitors to use.
Thank you High Lodge.
This was reinforced to us last month when he tested positive for covid that necessitated a stay in hospital. On admittance he had a skin test to check for any sores, bruises etc. The nursing staff commented on how well looked after he was as there were no marks to concern them. They also told us how unusual this was for residents in care.
We already knew how much affection and respect the care staff show to Dad but this was music to our ears.
And when he was discharged from the hospital, the icing on the cake was him declaring it's good to be home with my own bed. He's obviously happy in his environment.
Massive thanks to the manager and all of our extended family at High Lodge.
