The Knoll Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My lovely mum-in-law reached the point where she needed 24-hour care, which isn't an easy thing for any family. However, my wife had been given a good report about The Knoll and luckily, there was a room available, so Mum moved there in September and settled in pretty quickly. We have been impressed
with the level of care provided and the kindness and patience of the staff and management, always ensuring that any health issues that arise are dealt with promptly. Mum has been much better in herself since moving to The Knoll - she is eating better and is happier having more company than she did living on her own. She was offered the opportunity to move into a bigger room recently, which has a wonderful view over the lovely gardens at the rear, where mum loves to watch the wildlife, including deer, hares and rabbits. I am so pleased that, due to the confidence my wife has in the staff at The Knoll, the stress she was under is no longer an issue, thanks to Reece and his brilliant staff.
Reply from Reece Welsted, Home Manager at The Knoll Care HomeThank you very much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're delighted to hear that your mum-in-law has settled in so well and is happier, eating better, and enjoying the company and surroundings at The Knoll.
Your appreciation of our staff and management means a great deal to us, and we're especially pleased to know that your wife now feels reassured and supported. Thank you for trusting us with your mum-in-law's care.

My husband was admitted to Brookdale at the beginning of December after spending 3 months in hospital where they didn't bother to get him out of bed, consequently he can no longer stand. What a difference. It's like the difference between black & white. The staff are all lovely and get him up using
a hoist, he joins in some of the daily activities which are on offer and I can't thank the staff too much for their care and patience with him. They make us both feel so welcome.

Earlier this year we got to the stage where mom couldn't manage at home any more with her dementia. High Lodge have been fantastic in helping mom settle in taking a huge weight of our shoulders. The food is tasty and home cooked and mom has even put some weight back on. We are always made very welcome
when we visit and always feel we can approach the staff about any concerns we may have. Having a parent with dementia is a very hard situation but we believe she is in totally the right place at High Lodge.

I'm delighted with the staff , services and all my dealings with High Lodge Care Home. Mom has dementia and suddenly, just under a year ago, could no longer cope with care at home. As we live such a distance from her , I had to choose a home quickly, based on reviews, phone calls and facilities available.
This was quite daunting, but I've been absolutely delighted with the way Mom was welcomed into the High Lodge family and treated with love and dignity. The team are so caring and all medical needs are promptly addressed. I can contact them at any time and ask any questions, or speak to Mom. The quality of her life has been greatly improved by the company, activities and interactions she receives on a daily basis. The food is home cooked and delicious and residents have beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, and are I no longer have to fret about trying to meet Mom's many needs, knowing she is safe and well cared for. Thank you so much High Lodge.
Reply from Patricia Stevenson, Home Manager at High Lodge Care HomeWhat a wonderful and heartfelt review. - What can I say.
I know It is hard when making that decision to place your loved one in 24Hr care, It is something you have to feel you made the Right Choice with, and that the family also feel confident with that choice they made - You obviously do.
I would like to say a massive Thank you from myself and the team here at High Lodge.

Myself Anita Penny and Noel would like to say a huge thank you for all the care my dad Robert received during his years at Brookdale
The last week of end of life was exceptional both towards Dad and ourselves. The staff could not have done anymore for us and the care and emotional support was very
professional and warming
A special thank you to Ray who greeted dad on his first admission and took great care of his shaving and personal care - especially with the shaving off that moustache, and the cook, Julie's sister, cheffy as we called her for the delicious goodies she gave us especially as being sooo busy preparing for all the residents.
Once again a huge thank you to all
Best wishes Anita, Penny and Noel

My mom came to Myford after a stay in hospital , on the 8 th August. From the moment she arrived they were so kind to her , even when she was distressed. And being a bit difficult, they never stopped trying to enter. The compassion and understanding they have shown my mom has been above and beyond.
Also the care they have shown all my family while visiting. Sadly my mom passed on 18 September and again I can not express our gratitude as a family to the care to my mom and our family that they all showed as such a sad time . In the past 18 months that my mom has been ill the staff at Myford have been the absolute best we have dealt with. Thank you so much for making a very difficult time bearable .
