I cannot praise Brookdale nursing home enough. The staff have gone above and beyond to make mum as a new resident welcome after she had spent 13 long weeks in hospital. Nothing is ever too much trouble and attention to detail has been amazing. The staff are all so friendly. I would recommend Brookdale
nursing home to anyone and can't thank them enough!

My husband is now into his 5th week of permanent care, after having 2 periods of respite care.
We have tried other care homes which are purpose built and have all the mod cons but the care was appalling. (Or lack of!!)
The carers are absolutely brilliant with him and I cannot fault the care. He himself
is very happy there and has not had a bad word to say about any of them, quite the contrary.
The kindness and patience of the carers is outstanding.
He isn't left lying or sitting around in his room and participates in most activities. Someone needs to take him there so he is always looked after in that respect.
I have had occasion to speak to management a couple of times and they always make the time and reassure me if there have been any problems, not with the care, but my own anxieties about my husband.
The earlier review that was not complimentary about Brookdale, makes me wonder if they were talking about another nursing home.

I would like to say how very happy we are with the care our Mum is receiving at Brookdale .
She has Dementia and her needs have become intensive but the help and care we have received has been , without exaggeration, a real life saver .
The staff and management are all very welcoming, they always
have time for you and the care , and we do know the difference, is absolutely first class .
The communication is excellent and they are always easily contactable. We get regular updates, she gets constant stimulation ie:- exercise classes, activities, music etc and she is more relaxed and free of anxiety in this lovely place .
Thanks to everyone who works so hard to make a difficult situation feel a lot easier to deal with.

It was a very difficult family decision for my Dad to enter a nursing home, however when we looked around Brookdale we were taken in by the warmth of the staff and you could feel the passion and understanding from the manager.
Initially whilst in for respite, he was treated with exemplary care, ensuring
constant changes were made and care provided to better my Dad's comfort, quality of life and safety.
After a brief spell back home, this was to be a permanent arrangement shortly after, which was made so much easier by it already feeling so homely. He's provided with lovely food, has some of the very best care and nothing is ever overlooked in terms of constantly making further improvements tailored to each individuals needs.
The lovely atmosphere is really instilled from the manager down to her team and all combined means it would be the only option we would consider for our loved one.

Previously my husbands time was respite at Brookdale Nursing Home, he is now a permanent resident due to a significant down turn in his condition.
It was a bank holiday weekend, when I realised I could no longer care properly for him on my own, I didn't know which way to turn so I phoned Brookdale.
Their response was above and beyond, they flew into action and he was admitted as soon as I could get him there. I even had a call from the manager who was off duty offering help to get him there.
The standard of care my husband has received since has been faultless. He is settled now (which is no mean feat) due to the care of every member of staff. There are no visiting times, I can visit day or night unannounced, which for me, speaks volumes.
It's a difficult and sad time, when the day comes that your loved one needs full time nursing care, but I am so happy he is where he is and is so well cared for.

Where do I start! I could start by telling u that my family member was injured by a member of staff with a drinks trolley that shattered her hip. I could start by saying the residents spend 90% of the time in their rooms or beds unless there's entertainment on. I could start by saying that clients with
severe dementia are left wondering the corridors on their own, smashing up other peoples belongings & attacking visitors! I could mention the vile language that comes from the mouths of the staff. Or I could mention that certain staff feel its appropriate to offer relates their phone number for inappropriate reasons (I will let u join the dots) & when told I was married Said "your husband doesn't have to know!" Even Staff have advised us to remove our loved ones from here! This home is smoke and mirrors! Avoid at all costs! Social services are aware and investigations are being made! Our loved one is now safe with us at home!

Brookdale is a lovely care home. All the staff are very caring, polite and professional at all times. My mom has been here nearly 3 years and has been made very welcome from the start. A very homely place. One staff member in particular has gone over and above to ensure all residents are kept busy with

Trying to find the right home for your loved ones is a daunting task, so many care homes around but so many horror stories out there. We did a lot of research and viewed a lot of homes, Brookdale stood out from others due to its friendly down to earth staff and the home from home feel. Over 12 mths
on we still know we made the right call. staff are friendly and always happy to help/ listen or deal with any issues.
There are activities to meet everyone's needs from gentle fitness classes / singers / animal man and lots of crafty things .
Food is lovely,and freshly cooked everyday and residents are always given a choice so no one ever goes hungry.
A lot of improvement have been done in the home in the last 12 mths and they are freshly decorating rooms .
They welcome communication and your voice is heard. Holding regular family meetings.
The manager has been amazing, always making sure we know what's going on and easy to contact if any issues arise.

My dear stepdad has been a resident since July 2024, initially for respite but ultimately as a permanent resident. From the very beginning he was made welcome, his needs were met and he soon settled in to his new environment. They have continued to monitor is ongoing care needs and adjust this accordingly.
The nurses and carers are amazing, very friendly, and have built a strong rapport, both with my stepdad and us as a family. The home is currently undergoing refurbishment and my stepdad has had his room completely redecorated and a new laminate floor. His room is homely and comfortable with a lovely view of the garden. There are various activities and entertainment arranged for most days which my stepdad is encouraged to join in with, as well as days out to local venues. The food is home cooked and there is a good variety. Alternative meal options are offered when necessary. We are very happy with the standard of care and would recommend Brookdale Nursing Home without hesitation.

First visit to my friend, the staff were very friendly. The building certainly needs improvement as regards decorating, both regards rooms and outside. Was surprised to see the use of frozen vegetables and tinned cocktail fruit. my friend's room was clean and tidy and she seems very happy. The staff
checked on my friend while I was there and offered me a drink and were very responsive to my questions. Didn't see a manager but seems like a well-run home.

Staff are always so welcoming and seem to have a good relationship with my stepfather.
Any questions are answered by the manager who is always available.
Food seems to be well varied and enjoyed by the residents and can be flexible which is great.
I am very pleased with the care my stepfather receives
and the cleanliness of the home, it really does feel homely and warm. I would definitely recommend.

The staff are wonderful and caring. The building and some rooms are in need of decoration and are not luxurious at all, but for 'end of life' care the most important part is the staff and they rate very highly. I would use this nursing home if a similar situation arose. I was pleased with our choice,
due to the good care they took looking after our relative.

If you’re looking for a placement for a loved one this is a very good option. The staff certainly seem very committed and show care, warmth and humour appropriately. They took my brother and his wife in an emergency situation. We feel fortunate that they are somewhere being so well cared for.

From the moment I entered Brookdale Nursing Home I felt such warmth from the staff. My aunt was only there a short time and passed away in the home. The nursing staff were wonderful, very caring with such empathy and respect as my aunt came to end of life. Thank you so much.

My experience with Brookdale has been extremely positive. When my mother arrived after a stay in hospital, she had declined a lot and it didn't look like she would be with us for long. However, after the professional care of 100% from the staff, she has improved, virtually to the condition she was in
before she became ill (at another care home). The staff are all extremely friendly and there is a great atmosphere in the home. I feel that this greatly affects the well-being of the residents. When my mum has become ill, it has been spotted and rectified immediately. I have a feeling this was not done in the previous care home and why she ended up in hospital.

My father went to Brookdale in November 2022. We are so glad we chose for him to be there. The staff are caring, supportive and helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble. Not only looking after him but also making sure myself and our family were always made comfortable and looked after and made welcome.
We couldn't have asked for more. My father passed away and once again, the end-of-life nurse was there with comfort and support until the end, as were other members of staff. Thank you to all.
