My mother became a resident at the start of lockdown after the death of my father. She is unable to have family visits and therefore I have to rely 100 per cent on the staff for her care and well-being during what must be an extremely difficult time for her and them. I have been overwhelmed by the kindness, patience and professionalism of all the staff and feel very happy that my mother is being very well cared for.

Mum became a resident of Alder Grange in February 2020 after a short stay in hospital.
We were fortunate that Alder Grange had a room available because we had heard nothing but praise for this care home from other people.
We have not been disappointed.
The care staff are excellent, they are attentive, patient and so caring.
Mum has settled in well during this Covid19 lockdown period and although I cannot go inside Alder Grange to see mum, I know that she is being totally looked after.
This gives me great peace of mind - what a lovely care home.

Thank you to all of the staff.

My Nan has been living at Alder Grange for over a year now, she originally moved in whilst my Mom was undergoing cancer treatment and could no longer care for her. Alder Grange and the staff are brilliant, I live down in Cornwall but could not be happier that she is safe, cared for and well looked after. The staff, especially the owner who I have spoken to most, are caring, friendly and always happy to help. The weekly email update is really helpful along with a photo to see how Nan is getting on. After sending the pictures around to my Nan's friends, they all comment on how well she looks. I know my Mom fought to get my Nan into this care home and I can now see why. My Mom has since passed away and I have power of attorney for Nan, the team at Alder Grange always check in if Nan needs anything and have gone above and beyond in providing for her comfort and happiness. The home has events and spends a lot of time outside which I think is really beneficial.

Thank you to everyone at AG.

My mum has been at the home now for two and a half years and the whole experience for our family has been very positive. The whole team work extremely hard but always on hand during a visit if we need them. Mum has Alzheimer's and is in another world but the staff are so experienced and Mum is always happy and clean. Even during lockdown, the contact from them is very much appreciated by the whole family. I feel so relaxed about Mum being so well looked after and I ring on a regular basis to speak to Mum and the staff always stay nearby to help Mum with the phone. All the meals are cooked fresh and on-site which I feel is wonderful. I would recommend this care home because the level of care by all staff is outstanding.

Mum has lived at Alder Grange for over four years. Her care has always been of the highest standard and there is always a warm and friendly welcome. The home have dealt with the current coronavirus epidemic in an amazing way. Despite not being able to visit they have devised ways of keeping in touch regularly and have made great use of modern technology to help with contact. The team do an excellent job always putting residents at the centre of what they do. Such a passionate and caring attitude at all times.

Mum has only been a resident for six months, but my sister and I are totally happy with our choice of Alder Grange as her care home. The staff are great, so friendly and cannot do enough for her. While the coronavirus situation has prevented visits to care homes, the manager and her staff have kept us up to date with the precautions being taken in Alder Grange and send regular photos of Mum. We could not be more pleased and would definitely recommend Alder Grange as a professionally run and caring environment for those in need of care.

My mum has been a resident at Alder Grange for nearly 5-years now. What strikes me most of all, is the dedication of the staff and how they work so well together as a team. Nothing is too much trouble. Most staff have been there for a long time, and they are like one big happy family. My mum's needs have changed over the years, but whatever is required for mum, the staff handle it well, and I feel that Mum is treated well as an individual. Alder Grange gives a lot of thought to what is required by and for each individual resident. (I live out of the area and had never heard of Alder Grange the day Mum went to live there, but I would definitely highly recommend it).

My dear Uncle has resided at Alder Grange for a number of years now. The care and support he has received have been outstanding. Alder Grange feels like a family. My Uncle was a resident in a home close by, but we were very unhappy with the quality of care provided. I recall knocking on the door of Alder Grange, unannounced, on a dark cold wet winter's late afternoon, and being invited in by a lady who, despite it being teatime was happy to show me around. I knew immediately that this was home for my Uncle. Myself, brother and mother are very grateful for their ongoing care and dedication, particularly through the Covid-19 crisis. I would highly recommend this home.

I was extremely fortunate to place my friend into this home immediately upon his discharge from hospital for a short stay. I really did not know what to expect as my friend had not previously been into a home. However, upon arrival, he was greeted by the staff and immediately made to feel at home. Throughout the period of time at the home, all the staff were extremely pleasant and kind and ensured my friend was comfortable in all respects. Upon departure to return to his own home he thanked the staff for looking after him and expressed an interest in returning. Thank you to you all those at Alder Grange who was so considerate and caring.

My mum has received excellent care from the friendly and relaxed staff at Alder Grange. This attitude has helped enormously with her recovery from an extended stay in hospital. All her needs have been met with nothing being too much trouble. Staff are very approachable whilst remaining professional.

Alder Grange is a friendly, warm and caring home.

It is always being updated and is very comfortable and clean. The food is home cooked and really suitable for the elderly residents. The care staff are always friendly and approachable and I feel assured my relative is well cared for. Always a warm welcome and a drink offered and a chat from management and all staff and volunteers.

Moved Grandad from another home, Alder Grange is much better. There is attention to detail, you get feedback on how a relative has been. Staff go above and beyond to offer a drink to all residents throughout the day. Staff have even taken photographs of Grandad on their phones to show us what he has been up to. It's a very calm environment, very glad that we moved Grandad here. I feel that he is safe here.

The staff are attentive and very caring to the individual needs of residents. The home is well staffed ensuring residents are supervised and all of their needs met. Fluids are readily available and encouraged in order to avoid water infections. This home has regular activities which the residents participate with.

Residents' opinions and feedback are valued at Alder Grange. Suggestions for outings, activities, menu ideas are all taken aboard. The staff strive to fulfil individual requests to help residents feel at home and valued. Resident's dignity is considered at all times.

The home is well managed and whilst there is a sense of order and routine there is also a light-hearted atmosphere which appeals to residents and visitors. This mix encourages residents to feel and safe and settled in their day to day lives.

Just one suggestion...It would be great if the lovely garden area could be made more easily accessible to residents.

I would not hesitate to recommend this care home.

My mum hasn't been a resident very long in Alder Grange but despite crying buckets and feeling very unsure that a care home was the place mum needed to be, I now know that between myself, my hubby and my lovely mum, we made the right decision. The team of carers are very professional but at the same time very compassionate and the one thing that shines through is that nothing is ever too much trouble both for the residents and the residents' family.

We are made to feel welcome the minute we arrive to visit Mum. Alder Grange has a lovely, homely and warm feeling about it and if you did not know it was a care home you would get the impression that when you visited, you were at a big family get together. I'm sure that others go through the same feelings of guilt, doubts and anxieties that we have been through, but the staff at Alder Grange have gone out of their way to help both my mum and ourselves get through this huge period of change smoothly. I would recommend the home without any hesitation.

Mum has been a resident at Alder Grange for nine years and has dementia and mobility problems. We have found the care Mum receives to be excellent. The staff genuinely care on a personal level. They are very mindful of individual needs and treat Mum with respect and affection. Mum is very happy and relaxed in the home which given her conditions is very important to us. The staff respond very well to changes in care, eg. dietary requirements and medication and we are very happy that Mum is receiving relevant care. The staff are very in tune with their residents and pick up on any signs of illness very quickly and respond accordingly. The home itself has a comfortable feel, like your own home, and is not at all clinical. Food standards are very high. Activities in the home provide fun for Mum and the home make a real effort to celebrate current affairs, like the jubilee, with a lovely party feel. Days out are also enjoyed. Mum would not be there if it wasn't excellent.
