The staff are all very friendly, caring and compassionate. The facilities are very homely, warm and spotlessly clean. My father has been a resident here for a few years now. He has severe dementia, is catheterized and he has recently become bedbound. His personal care has always been excellent. He always
looks clean and is treated with dignity. He enjoys the food. We have no complaints and would not hesitate to recommend this care home.

Due to my mum having a fall the care and suooport provided by this care home was excellent. From being at my mum's side all the time, while awaiting for the ambulance. The standard of care is excellent, with staff always taking the time to understand individual needs, regardless of their position. The
facilities are clean, comfortable and home made food.
We feel very fortunate to have found such a supportive and professional care home and we would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

Our good friend of many years has been at Ashview now for over a year. He doesn't have any family to support him, but we, his friends like to visit when we can. We have visited him in the evenings and in the mornings , and we always come away happy that he is being so well cared for. The standard of
his personal care is really high, he looks so clean and well with extra attention to details such as his glasses and hair. He is warm and always comments on how good the food is. He wears nice clothes that have been bought on his behalf by the team. His over all health is the best it can be thanks to the care he is receiving.
At first we were concerned because the facilities appear quite basic, but look beyond that and you notice how clean everywhere is, with no corners cut. We think the staff are doing a very good job, we hope our friend has many more years there. It is so nice not having to worry about him living alone and struggling, especially at Christmas. Thank you.

Before my mother moved into Ashview House I was invited to see her bedroom and shown around the home by a friendly knowledgeable member of staff which was reassuring and allayed my concerns regarding my mother moving into the home. The manager has been very supportive to both my mother and me, very
professional, caring and kind which also applies to all the staff.

I visit my aunt every week, she is bed-bound and has been on end-of-life for three years. I don't go same day and time but when I get there, she is always very clean and comfortable. The staff are always polite and welcoming and turn my aunt every two hours. Would highly recommend Ashview House Care
Home to other people. I know if I have any queries, the staff and management are always there to help.

Since my mother has been a resident she has no complaints about her surroundings or staff. I myself find all staff to be friendly and very helpful. The food menu has a varied choice, however my mother cannot chew a lot of things. So the staff blend her food or make her something. She can chew usually
cheesy mash with spaghetti (which she loves)!

My 101-year-old mum has been a resident here for 20 months. Despite increasing age-related frailty and needs, the staff are so kind and lovely with her, treating her with respect and dignity. They are her family at times when we can't be there. Her eyes light up when they are with her.

My mother has only been at Ashview House for two weeks, but in her words, she is 'being treated like a queen'. She loves the staff, they are all very pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. There is a choice of lovely meals. Mum has settled in really well with their help. Because it is only small,
the staff to resident ratio is really good. I would recommend.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.434)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.434) out of 10 for Ashview House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.634 for Ashview House is calculated as follows: ( (94 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 134 Ratings = 4.634
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashview House is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 22 registered maximum number of service users is 4.4, which has been reached with 12 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
