Review of A S Care from I D (Sister of Resident) published on 30 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
We chose the AS Residential Care Home for my brother based on the building, the facilities, the large garden and well appointed rooms. It was more appealing than all the other homes that we visited and for this we have not been disappointed.
However, the main reason for my 5 star rating is for the continuous quality care that the staff provide. Each member is attentive and kind and look after my brother as if he were family.

Thank you sincerely.

I couldn't be happier with the care my grandma receives here. The staff are genuinely attentive and it shows in the small things - she's always up and in the living room never just left in bed, she's, engaged and well dressed. It's clear the team really cares, not just professionally but personally. Knowing she's safe and well looked after means I can finally sleep at night. Thank you to the whole team for the wonderful care you give her!!

My relative seems settled and happy. He doesn't get angry as much as in previous homes. He enjoys going out for walks. I think the home is a happy home, relaxed and comfortable for clients with different needs. Just one thing - I travel quite far to see my relative - an offer of a cup of tea would be nice.

My brother who has dementia is a full time resident there. The staff look after him very well and have no complaints at the level of care he receives. The staff call me if there is anything they need to inform about. The home is clean and all the staff are very lovely. Would recommend this care home to anyone. I don't live local so its reassuring for me to know my brother is cared for and well looked after at all times.

My mum has been in Ashford House residential home for 6 months. Since we first visited, we have been met with complete professionalism alongside genuine compassion. and understanding. They have treated my mum with complete respect, taking the time to fully understand her needs. Although she is bedbound, they take the time to arrange having a chat in her room, even extending activities like having the walls painted in her room, ensuring she is not left out. As a family, we are completely satisfied that she is safe and in a very secure and respectful environment. Thank you.

Review of Old Vicarage Care Home from Emma S (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mum has mixed dementia and has been at the Old Vicarage for 18 months. She had always been treated with care and respect. The carers have made her feel safe and cared for.
The whole team look for ways to support the residents. I love how they treat them how they would like their own parents to be treated. For my mum that means that she gets a hug when she is unsettled, and the chance to sing and dance (which makes her feel good).
Fiona is always coming up with new activities that keep all the residents mentally and physically active whilst having fun.
I visit regularly and the team at the Old Vicarage are always there with a smile and happy to answer any questions I may have.

Making the decision for mum to go into a care home was the hardest decision I have had to make but it has transformed her life for the better. There is no way I, and my family, could have given her the support and care she receives now.

As a family, we are always made to feel very welcome by staff who are very friendly. Mum is treated with respect and is well looked after. Her room is cleaned daily and well maintained. All the communal areas are kept very clean and are very homely and comfortable. Communication regarding Mum's care is forthcoming, and we are kept up to date regularly. We are very satisfied and feel very reassured about Mum's care.

My father has lived here for 3 1/2 years, and I have always been very happy with the care he has received in this time. All the staff have always been very caring and helpful. Even now that he required palliative care, he has been able to stay here and be cared for rather than having to be moved to a nursing home. All of which I am very grateful for.

All caregivers are happy, polite and friendly. All caregivers treat mum with great respect and spend quality time with her, talking to her and keeping her clean & comfortable. Her room is always clean & tidy. The boss is lovely and goes above & beyond when mum is unwell & keeps our family informed when they have to involve doctors/any hospital stays. Mum receives regular position changes and regular pad changes. Her bedding is always clean & her room is always at the right temperature. The radio or TV is always left on for mum. We cannot fault the excellent care that mum receives.

The care and support shown to my mother-in-law was everything we could have expected. She was treated with dignity and care all the time she was at the home, up until the day she passed away. The carers treated all our family with respect on visiting, ensuring we were all ok. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you so much.

Mum has been a resident for four and a half years. We have never had a concern for her care. The home is always clean and tidy. The staff are extremely warm and friendly and it almost feels like mum is being cared for by an extended family. We are always kept informed and if mum is unwell she is seen by the doctor swiftly. The physio linked to the home is fabulous. As a family we would have no problem recommending London Road as a wonderful nursing home.

Mum is cared for very well at Ashview House. All of the staff are pleasant and always have time to answer any questions we may have. The home is small so has a homely feel to it. Mum is well fed and enjoys the meals. As we leave on a Sunday, the lunch always smells amazing.

I found the service user content and well. She has gained weight and says she loves being there. She has no close relatives but enjoys her friends' visits. She is fond of Gemma, Ashad, Zahida and the cook. Though she relates well to all carers. The home is basic but spotless with a caring atmosphere.
