My father spent 2 weeks here on respite care. There were plenty of staff around to see to his needs and activities available for him to take part in. Everyone was friendly and he was made to feel welcome. He probably hasn't eaten so well for a long time !
Although he was keen to return to the familiar
surroundings of his own home this in no way detracts from the standard of care he received here.

My mother came to Ashfield House in October 2024, having fallen and broken her femur and displaying early signs of dementia.
She has settled into Ashfield well and while she is sometimes emotionally stressed, this is now her permanent home, so it's very important to the family that she is as happy
as possible and looked after by caring helpers. That is certainly the care at Ashfield. The staff are amazingly good, the room and facilities are excellent and there is so much organised for the residents. We were so very fortunate to have settled on Ashfield, it is really an outstanding care home. Thanks and congratulations to all staff.

From the moment we walked through the door here when we were looking for somewhere for my aunt thesis was a warm and friendly environment.
Everyone said hello to us.
Since moving in my aunt has joined in with the activities and made friends.
Everyone continues to be friendly whenever we
visit. I am so glad we moved her here

Staff were all extremely kind and friendly. Mum was looked after really well. Mum was treated with dignity and respect by all staff. As a family, we were also treated with dignity and respect. Communication was very good.
Staff made an effort to find out about Mum and us as a family. It was mum and
Dad's 65th wedding anniversary while mum was there and the management team arranged an afternoon tea for us where we could sit in a private room as a family and celebrate. This meant the world to us. I would recommend Ashfield House to anyone.

My mother passed away on the 2nd of January 2025. I was overwhelmed with the genuine compassion and empathy shown by all of the staff that were present at the time. This was a true reflection of the love and affection towards my mum during the whole of her stay, the key being in the name. Ashfield House,
staffed by people who really care, making it a place my mum could call home.

This care home exceeded my expectations. All of the staff really care. It surprised me how much attention they gave my nan and you could tell that they genuinely cared about her. She started to need more and more assistance, but they still found the time to spend 20 minutes helping her eat her lunch.
This care home I would say is more for people who are less physically able, but they do have a nice garden area for some fresh air. Also, the care home is in a really nice and quiet location.
It's not like living in a 5-star hotel, but with the resources they seem to have available, I think they do a very decent job. The different levels of staff and management are also very approachable, allowing you to discuss any requests or issues. They also don't hold you to specific visiting hours making it feel more like you can pop in and out at your convenience and makes it feel more like it's their home.

My wife has been in the home for nearly two years with dementia. This has been a relief for me and my family. The main reason is the staff, not only do they care for me and my family, they show a very caring attitude to my wife who is now in a helpless state and I am very happy with the way they cope
with a very difficult situation.

All the staff have been excellent. I was worried when Mum moved in but every effort was made to help her settle. She now seems happy and relaxed. If she is well then it takes a lot of pressure off me and my sister knowing she is safe and well looked after.

After my mother resided in 2 other care homes before arriving at Ashfield it has made me aware of how lucky we all are that she is here now. All the staff I have met are brilliant and very caring, food looks and smells good enough to eat.

Mum entered Ashfield House in August 2024. During the last 6 months, I have been very pleased with the care she has received. Mum has a good routine. She has a choice of meals every day. Drinks and snacks are offered between meals. There are a number of different activities available for her most mornings,
which she can take part in if she wishes. There are visits from children of various ages which I know mum enjoys. Pets are allowed to visit. Mum can choose to have lunch with other residents or in her room.
When arriving at Ashfield, we are always greeted by friendly faces and often offered a drink. I've always witnessed the care staff treating all residents in a friendly, caring and dignified manner. The rooms are not very big but they are adequate, with an ensuite toilet. Cleanliness could be improved a little, but on the whole is ok. A doctor visits regularly.
I am so pleased that we chose Ashfield House as it is a 'home from home' and Mum is happy there!

Staff are always friendly.
So pleasant to enter the building with smiley faces.
Atmosphere lovely.
Rooms could be cleaned a bit better/more skirting boards and around ceiling.
So pleased getting Mum back in the lounge - it does her so good seeing others and listening to the music and doing activities
(when in a good mood). We appreciate it's not always that easy.

I would like to pass on my thanks to all the staff at Ashfield House who are looking after my dad.
Recently it was his birthday and unfortunately I live in Yorkshire and my sister is in USA, and we were unable to visit him.
I called the home and the events coordinator went to his room and arranged
a video call for me. She had so much time and patience with him, to enable me to wish him Happy Birthday.
The staff had a card signed from all residents and staff which in his words was “awesome” and he had never had a card with so many wishes before.
Once one of the staff used her own phone for us to communicate when the company’s device wasn’t working. They always go the extra mile to help us when they can.
All the staff are so helpful when we call, giving us information as to what he needs, and how he is. When we are able to visit they always pop in say hello and have a chat to him.
It is very reassuring he is so well cared for.

I don't have any complaints. When I asked questions, they answered positively. All the staff have been polite and helpful. I have asked Mom about here and she responds positively. She likes the food and enjoys getting around in her chair. She likes the company but doesn't mind being on her own. I think
she looks much healthier now than when she first came in. So all's well.

My mother moved into Ashfield House in January 2023, this was a very hard decision for the family. I can honestly say I have never been happier with the care my mum receives, she is always clean and tidy. Her clothes are clean and she is always smiling, there is a variety of activities within the home.
The food is always fresh and the staff are polite friendly and willing t help.

Following a fall our mother was transferred to Ashfield House for respite care. The carers and staff in the home are lovely, they took good care of our mother and attended to her daily needs. We felt at ease that our mother was being looked after and cared for during her time there. Our mother too seemed
comfortable there and had a good relationship with the carers. The home has good facilities, a nice open lounge, a dining area and garden for residents to sit in and is in a great location, easy to get to and visit. Thank you Ashfield House for taking care of our mother during her stay, would definitely recommend this care home.

Walking into Ashfield House it feels like a ray of sunshine has hit you. Greeted with a smile from management staff. I would like to see more done for the people that can't walk, daily exercise in a group making sure everyone joins in.
