Overall Experience
We chose the AS Residential Care Home for my brother based on the building, the facilities, the large garden and well appointed rooms. It was more appealing than all the other homes that we visited and for this we have not been disappointed.
However, the main reason for my 5 star rating is for the continuous quality care that the staff provide. Each member is attentive and kind and look after my brother as if he were family.

Thank you sincerely.

We always find my step-aunt in the same chair in the conservatory, a light-filled place she enjoys. I was impressed as ever by the signs of activity always lively displaces of craft work undertaken. The home is impeccably clean and the residents cared for with considerate dignity and compassion. We enjoyed our visit with a visiting relative, and they too were impressed and grateful for the hard work and dedication of the staff.

Overall, I am very pleased with the way my friend is looked after. Staff treat her sympathetically and make time to talk to her. The meals I have seen are excellent with a good choice. My friend's room is spacious and comfortable, and everywhere is clean and hygienic. I am greeted and treated will by staff and management are always helpful and willing to listen.

My mum suffers from dementia and struggled at first to settle in the care home. She has now settled, and her eating has got better. The staff seem to be very caring and hard-working. The manager is always on hand to answer any queries. It was a hard decision for the family to let mum go into a care home. It has turned out to be the best thing for her, and I thank the staff for their care and support.

My dad has been living at A S Care for just over a year. He has always been treated with dignity and respect, even though he has advanced dementia. He seems happy and settled there. As a family, we feel he is very well cared for, and the staff are always helpful, informative and very welcoming. The home has a real family feel with both residents and staff, and events are organised for families to meet at summer fetes or Christmas events and encouraged to share experiences. I would fully recommend A S Care to others who need care provided for their loved ones.

My mother in law when into A S Care temporarily in June 2025 and went permanent in December 2026. My mother is safe and happy and 100% cared for. The staff go above and beyond for all residents.
Nothing is any trouble for any staff member.

They make a cracking cup of tea.

The staff at AS Care are exemplary. My mum suffers from Alzheimer's Dementia and also a tricky recurring medical problem. It's tricky because when it flares up it needs to be attended to promptly but the symptoms aren't particularly unusual for an Alzheimer's sufferer. The AS Care staff have become experts at knowing when my mum needs to go to hospital to have the problem resolved. I'm always kept up to date with what's happening with my mum and on medical advice given. My input is also always asked for on decisions concerning my mum. The close eye everyone at AS Care keeps on my mum and the genuine care they give her makes living in a different city much easier to manage both physically and emotionally.

My mother has been a resident at the home for two years and I have always found the whole team at the home caring, knowledgable and supportive. Whenever I check in with them to ask for updates they can immediately give me information on how mum has been since I last checked, which is very reassuring. They are also very willing to discuss how we can adjust things to support her.

The home is in an older building but it has always had a warm and friendly feel and the decor has been refreshed and enhanced over the last year. A recent friends and relatives meeting also highlighted other improvement plans and asked for our suggestions.

My sister has been living in A S Care for nearly 13 years she has always been happy. She has had quite a lot of illness over the years plus being an amputee and the staff have been really caring and helpful. She has seen a lot of staff come and go over the years. My sister passed away recently but I know she was loved and looked after. Thank you.

Bit reluctant to give my view on my husband's holiday at A S Care as we may not be able to get him in as they will be full!

We grew up in old buildings so feel more at ease in a place that doesn't look like a magazine photo. My husband asked the activities coordinator for a newspaper. Something he doesn't do at home! She found him one.

For the last nine years A S care has looked after Mum.
We as a family chose this home for its commitment to its residents. It was obvious from the beginning how much staff had respect for residents' wellbeing, dignity and care. It helped that the manager is a long-term member of staff.

Towards the end of Mum's life, she received care above and beyond what she would have received in a hospital setting and the family were kept informed at all times and not restricted to timed visits. Mum was always clean, tidy and happy and her room was tailored with her belongings - a home from home. Well done A S Care.

The staff were always very welcoming, and friendly and made you feel at home. My father’s stay and his care was always 100%, and the staff always went above and beyond, which made me feel happy that he was in good hands, all he ever said when I visited was that he was more than happy with everything other than not having his freedom.

My mum has spent 11 weeks in the care home. She has been looked after. The staff are always polite and friendly and will always go above and beyond to help. There are limited activities, and the able-bodied residents could be taken out, which would be better to help. Keep them in touch with reality and the world. They are inside a lot;l however, there is a beautiful garden. The care coordination is amazing for activities.
