Visiting

  • The team value the importance of visitors in the lives of residents and fully support their right to maintain contact with family, friends, and loved ones. The visitors policy ensures that visits are welcomed, safe, and respectful of each resident’s personal wishes. Key points of the policy: Open Visiting: Visitors are welcome at any time, unless a resident personally requests limited visits or there is an outbreak of infection, in which case the home will follow health and safety guidance. Resident Choice: Each resident can decide who they want to see, and this choice will be recorded in their care plan. If a resident lacks the capacity to make this decision, the Mental Capacity Act will guide the process to ensure visits still support their best interests. Visitor Registration: All visitors must sign in and out at reception and follow any health and safety procedures in place. Privacy and Respect: Residents have the right to refuse visitors, and this will always be respected. Visitors will not be allowed into other residents’ rooms without express permission. Food and Personal Items: Any food or personal items brought in for a resident must be declared to staff to ensure safety and dietary needs are considered. Infection Control: Visitors who feel unwell, especially with symptoms of transmissible infections (such as flu, COVID-19, or norovirus), are asked to postpone their visit until they are well. Conflict and Safeguarding: If a visitor’s behaviour poses a risk to residents, staff, or the home environment, management will intervene. In serious cases, visits may be restricted or conditions imposed, with advice from the Safeguarding Team if necessary. Outbreak Management: In the event of a public health incident, the home will follow local and national guidance, offering alternatives like video calls or window visits if needed. Feedback and Complaints: Visitors are encouraged to provide feedback and raise any concerns, which will be handled through the Complaints, Suggestions and Compliments Policy. Our goal is to make every visit a positive, safe, and supportive experience for all.

Lanrick House staff did a wonderful job in caring for my dear husband who had dementia. Their understanding of his condition and the care he received were absolutely first class! My family and I will forever grateful for their support and kindness in making the last few months of his life so happy.

I would like to thank the manager and all staff involved with my dad moving into the residential home.
The manager is exceptional, very caring and knowledgeable.
We as a family have been involved with the home before my mum and I can't recommend them higher.

Dad is settling in well and they have been attentive to all of his needs. It is a lovely environment with special care given to individual needs and preferences.

The team at Lanrick House have been welcoming, supportive and reassuring from our first visit to when my dad and stepmum moved in, and since. They have a double room with a sitting area, and we have been encouraged to decorate the room and furnish it with their own items if we wish. That makes it feel more personal and like home, which is different to our experience with a previous care home. It's a great relief to know that they are together without having to be responsible for each other's care, and I feel confident that they are happy, safe and well cared for.

My mother-in-law recently moved to this care home after her previous home was no longer able to cater for her advanced dementia, and the level of care she has received here so far has exceeded our expectations. From the management team to the carers, everyone has been incredibly kind, supportive, and understanding throughout her transition.
The staff have shown exceptional skill in dementia care - treating her with patience, dignity, and genuine compassion. They are they are taking the time to learn her needs and preferences, which is helping her settle in much more quickly than we anticipated. Their calm, reassuring approach has made a noticeable difference to her comfort and well-being, even in just the first couple of days.

The home itself is warm, clean, and thoughtfully designed for residents Communication with the family has been excellent, giving us confidence and peace of mind as she adjusts to her new environment.

Mum had been in Lanrick House for some 16 months before she recently passed away. The end of life care she received from the staff could not have been better. The family have been more than happy with the care provided and we are so pleased we were able to move her to Lanrick House last year from Dorset. The staff not only engage with the residents but families too and there is always some activity going on. Mum always complimented the food and she looked forward to mealtimes. Lanrick House was the safe environment we wanted for her and made the best choice for her needs. Thank you to everyone.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. Can I start by saying that it was an honor to care and support your mum throughout her time with us at Lanrick and to be able to give her the best quality of life we could. We felt privileged to be able to provide the person centered care that she deserved at the end of her life and we all miss her very much.

The manager of Lanrick House is amazing. When I was in a state of shock and disbelieve at the situation I found myself in she understood listened and then welcomes my mom into the home.

My mom was discharged from hospital with a fractured pelvis and all the staff have cared for this 92 year old woman with care and dignity and encouraging her to regain mobility. The staff are all wonderful, especially the events organiser.

We needed to move my mum very quickly out of a long term hospital stay and the manager of Lanrick House was fundamental in arranging this for us. She is extremely professional and highly knowledgeable in all aspects of care. My mum stayed at Lanrick House for 3 weeks and we found the home to be clean, welcoming and the staff to be very caring and kind. The food is excellent.

I cannot speak highly enough for the care and respect that the staff give to our Dad.
Lanrick House is a very professionally run home that has a well-run regime and a safe, enriching environment. There is excellent access to management and regular opportunities for families to have an input into how the home is being run.
But the most important thing is how the staff interact with my Dad in a personal and caring way. I can always be confident that our Dad is safe and getting the best care.

Thank you to all the staff for the work you do.

The staff at Lanrick House Care Home are very welcoming to all visitors and know the residents very well.
They offer daily stimulation to those in the home that are able to take part such as bingo, card making, local musical entertainers visiting, celebrating all key events and many other activities to keep residents engaged as much as possible.
My mother has been a resident over 2 years now and is settled in her surroundings. She has a dedicated carer so family can communicate with them, which works in the main, but there is always someone to talk to should I have any questions. All of the staff know my mom and she seems to like all of them, which is important when I live over 50 miles away.

I would recommend anyone to stay, short or long, at this care home. The team work hard to ensure everyone is well looked after and happy.

My mother has been in Lanrick House for three years, she is there for care for the elderly as she couldn't live at home any more, due to mobility issues and the personal care required. From the moment she moved in she says she feels happy, safe and well cared for. She no longer has to worry about not being able to get around very easily. She has an en-suite room, with TV, some of her own furniture, her pictures/photos, and great-grandchildren's drawings/paintings everywhere. She's always clean, warm and well-fed. She calls the carers her friends, and goes to the events that home put on regularly. Her friends visit, some with their little dogs, which she loves. I spent weeks researching local care homes. My brother and I chose Lanrick House after talking to our mother and visiting. We have never regretted it. She is in the best place she could possibly be. Her well-being, health, and happiness have all rocketed immensely. She is respected as a person and not just a resident. What more could you want?

A great clean home with loving carers who keep you informed and up to date on any issues. Mum has settled in really quickly and appears to be very happy which was our biggest concern having lived in her family home for over fifty years. Location is good for all the family who live in a 15-mile radius.
