This residential home is a home you are treated with a great deal of respect for the residents. It’s a small home so you get the one to one care and nothing is too much trouble. The staff and management are very caring and treat the residents with care. The food is very nutritional with so much variety the activities they provide are varied. As a family we feel very relaxed with our family member being looked after at The Old Vicarage, we know they are in a safe environment and are looked after with dignity.

My mother-in-law died recently after spending almost three years in The Old Vicarage. She had dementia and her moods could swing from kind and interested to very unpleasant and selfish. At all times, the staff treated her with patience, understanding and kindness. She was comfortable, well feed and always clean. Whilst the building is, I think, Victorian, it is always clean and smells fresh. The staff are welcoming and helpful.

My mother has been a resident since early 2014 and we have seen a few changes over the years. Her dementia was mild at the start but she has become more vague in the last 18 months and needs more reassurance, which she gets from the staff. I am pleased that The Old Vicarage has started to make significant improvements to a tired building and things are moving apace, with new windows and re-decoration to many areas. The staff are caring and kind and because this is a small home, it is very friendly and intimate with staff and family knowing each other. I have no hesitation in discussing any minor issues with the owners and senior staff and actions are promptly taken. Adaptations are made to suit my mother's visual needs and assistance is given at mealtimes to ensure that she eats sufficiently. She regularly has her hair done, but have suggested that her finger and toenails are regularly cut and cleaned.

There are many positive aspects of the home, the staff and management.

The best way to describe The Old Vicarage is 'home from home'.
Dad as been resident for over 2 and a half years and has been looked after extremely well. The staff and management are professional, friendly and very caring. They always have time for a chat or to discuss any issues with family members. We are very well informed of any changes or events, regular meetings are held and emails sent out.

I feel very much at ease knowing dad is so well looked after and that all his needs are catered for. I would highly recommend The Old Vicarage.

My mother was placed in here for respite care to start with but because of the quality of care by the staff and owners, it was decided that we would place her there permanently. The home puts the needs of the residents first, the quality of care is exceptional, every need of the residents is catered for and when you visit you are made to feel welcome. Family are included and informed of all aspects of care and are involved in regular meetings with the owners and manager. There are regular activities, recently there was a family BBQ, you can arrange to have Sunday lunch with your loved one, and a Christmas party is also arranged. As a family, we feel that The Old Vicarage provides a very positive environment for a dementia sufferer and gives us as a family, a feeling of well being and peace of mind knowing that our loved one is being looked after so well.

My family is very pleased with how my mum is treated at the Old Vicarage. The owners and staff all go the extra mile to make my mum comfortable. If my mum gets anxious they always manage to turn her mood around so that she is in a better place (with her mind).
There has been a garden party where all staff, families and residents had fun in the sun with music, food and activities.

The fabric of the building has altered tremendously with new white goods and has been redecorated throughout. The new double glazing is so nice and a new security system has also been installed. They have given Mum a nice home where she feels really safe and valued.

My mum is a resident of the Old Vicarage care home and is very well looked after. The staff are very patient and caring and we are always met with a smile when visiting. The home is very clean and well maintained and has a home from home atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice friendly place for their relatives.

We currently have a lovely en?suite room available on the first floor. It offers garden views and provides a calm, comfortable space for a new resident. The room is easily accessible via both the lift and stairs, with a chair lift also in place to support safe movement around the home.
