My husband receives excellent care, he is always clean and tidy. The home is kept clean with no unpleasant odours and the food is fresh and cooked on site. I am delighted to have him in a care home, as near to being 'at home' as possible, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. There are regular visits by the district nurse, a doctor, hairdresser and chiropodist, as well as a local doctor on call as required. This was the best care home I visited when looking for care for my husband, and has proven to be the right choice.

My dad went to this home as we could no longer care for him at home. Straight away we knew we had chosen the ideal place.
The carers are amazing, they treat residents as individuals and consider every aspect of their care to ensure their happiness and security. Events are organised on a regular basis. eg, connection with a local children's nursery, music, flower arranging and visits from animals including llamas and donkeys.

Relatives can visit at any time and are given a warm welcome. The home is always clean and the rooms are very comfortable with views over the garden.

The very best thing about St Joseph's is the staff. All staff, whether carers, management or cleaners are excellent. They all treat the residents with great kindness and nothing is too much trouble. I cannot praise them highly enough. Sometimes they seem a bit stretched but this does not alter the fantastic care they give. I only wish for their sake there were more staff. The place is comfortable and clean and cosy. Sometimes Mom does not like the food, especially the puddings and milkshakes. On the whole, my mother seems content and happy which is a great relief to me.

My mother has been a resident of St Joseph's Care Home for about three years. She suffers from dementia but on the whole is a happy soul singing and chatting with other residents and staff when she is not resting. I have noted excellent in all the categories of this survey because I always come away from the home thinking how lucky she has been to get a place here.

I recently went for respite care to St Joseph's and had a very good, pleasant stay with good food, excellent attention by all staff. Nothing was too much for them to attend to and talk to as well. Would have no hesitation in going there any time.

All the staff respect patients dignity. Since my father has been a resident they have treated him as a member of the family, enjoying days out and doing exciting and interesting things. Thanks for making a difficult decision easier.

Thanks once again.

Choosing a care home for a much-loved mum is an enormous task. Nowhere will be perfect but St Joseph’s was the best for mum. The comfortable, homely environment was very suitable.
The friendly, caring staff took time to get to know mum and family members. They built up lovely relationships with mum, always treating her with dignity and respect and she came to recognise them as part of her community.
Whenever there were family concerns, the unit manager was always approachable and very good at listening. Equally, the family were informed if staff were concerned. A good partnership was established for mum’s care.
Spiritual needs were recognised and a huge bonus for mum was the opportunity to go to daily Mass in the little chapel.
Writing a review is from a personal perspective but it was evident St Joseph’s team of managers, care assistants, cleaners and chefs all contribute to the personalised care of all the residents.
A very grateful daughter.

This home is very much worth consideration.

We are very pleased with our choice of home for our beloved sister. She is loved and cared for by caring nurses who spend time in talking to her. The place is clean, homely and well maintained.
There are no urinary smells. Her bedroom is clean and so is the ensuite. She is well dressed and always clean and fresh. The head nurse phones us if our sister is poorly and they call us frequently to give us a report.

They also tell us if garments needs replacing she is peaceful and settled and spiritual needs are given importance.

I am extremely pleased with the care my mother receives from this care home. The staff are excellent, every time we visit they are engaged with the residents and are always willing to discuss the care and needs of my mother. The room she is in is excellent. She is always treated with dignity and respect. The activities they provide are many and varied.

I have two parents at St Joseph's Residential Care Home. No matter what time of day I visit, I find them to be looking good and having so much dignity than they did in the last few months of independent living. The atmosphere is always jolly and appropriate. The staff are exceptional at their jobs, I don't think they realise how good they are. The managers are always available and approachable. I would have no hesitation in recommending St Joseph's Residential Care Home.

Our precious parents both were in St Josephs for more than 12 months. During that time it was a pleasure for us, as a family, to visit them and see that they were well nourished, clean, happy and felt to be part of a family.

We visited so many care homes and at times were so upset at the level of care. St Josephs was the perfect home from home. I honestly, and my siblings agree, that my parents thrived under the constant care of the great team at St Joseph's.

I cannot thank the staff at St Joseph's Residential Care Home enough for their kindness and warmth they have shown to my aunt and all family members throughout her transition from hospital to her new care setting her beautiful new home. The time and care the staff have taken from my first enquiry at the office, the hospital assessment visit and during the transition has been quite remarkable. Thank you all. I shall look forward to visiting my aunt here!

We find our friend to be well cared for in an atmosphere of love and compassion. The staff on Jade Unit are always tolerant and patient. Our friend is always well dressed, clean, hair tidy and even nails are manicured and polished! She told us recently that she is happy there. This shows that she is comfortable and at ease. We notice that she is treated with respect and dignity. Her spiritual needs are recognised and because there is a chapel in the area she is able to attend the daily service if she wishes. There is overall a happy Christian atmosphere.
