Brookholme Residential Home

As well as the excellent care, the communication from the home is first class, and we can rest assured he is in safe hands between our visits.

The care home and their staff are excellent. I have personally witnessed a resident who had soiled themselves. The staff were very caring and understanding. When the resident returned I noted that they were freshly clothed and the staff took time to disinfect and clean the residents chair.

Her medical and care needs are very well managed. The staff are vigilant and have on a number of occasions, arrange for a medical visit or even transfer to hospital.

This is a place that our relative can call home. The staff, residents and visitors coexist together in one happy community.

Special thanks to 7 staff members in particular who go the extra mile. The two guys also work exceptionally hard but I can't remember their names.I should also mention the cook who adapts meals and snacks for the residents without a problem - lovely girl!

If they need to contact me or update me on either a health or personal related issue concerning Mum I have absolute confidence that this will happen, and there is always someone on hand if you ever need to contact the home.

Mum was brought to Brookholme for restbite after a short stay in hospital due to her falling at home. The staff have been amazing helping mum settle in and after consultation with family decided to let mum stay here following her capacity assemant. Mum is very settled and looks well and family are very happy with the home and her care.

My mother has been in Brookholme for 2.5 years and I have found the staff and facilities very good. There are activities to do every day and the food is varied and freshly cooked on the premises. Also the medical care has been excellent.

They have daily activities and cater these to the residents abilities.

My mum is really well looked after at Brookeholme and I have no doubt whatsoever, that if Mum had to return to residential care, Brookeholme would be my first point of call and at the very top of my list. Thank you so much to an amazing team!

As a resident on respite care, before moving forward I would like to enlighten my experience here. Staff can't do enough for everyone, I have got involved with all the fun stuff that is put on for the residents as challenging as this may be. Food is good, if not appropriate it is easily altered by the staff. Always clean. All in all, it is comforting to know that decent people care for others. Would happily come back again (not too soon though as I still have a lot to achieve). Thanks.

Excellent and caring team with a great manager. Really friendly and welcoming and everyone is treated with care and respect. Time is really taken to engage with all the residents. We visited today and it was lovely to see the residents in the garden meeting Shetland ponies that had come to visit.

Mum is encouraged to join in the daily activities. The care home is very clean and Mum has a lovely bedroom. Mum has lots of friends at Brookholme, both residents and staff and I now feel they are our Brookholme family. Thank you, Brookholme, for looking after my mum.

Our mother has been at Brookholme now for several years and we have been very happy with her care. She has always enjoyed the food that is freshly prepared in the kitchen and there are always activities for her to choose to join in, or observe. We are confident that she is safe and well looked after by staff, who are friendly and approachable. There is good communication, when necessary, from the seniors, the manager and the owner. Their responsibility to protect residents and staff during the pandemic was taken very seriously. We cannot thank them enough and their efforts are greatly appreciated. I would recommend Brookholme as a very good care home.

I know that she is well looked after, kept busy and well fed and cared for. I love being able to look at Facebook and see her doing some of the amazing activities that are planned for the residents. She looks happy and well cared for.

Always a pleasure to talk to the staff for information or a review on my mum the manager is so very helpful. Always ring if there's a problem or they want to speak to me regarding my mum's care I'm so dependent on them for the care of my mum.

Above all, she is safe! Which is what matters most to me.

Mum has now been at Brookholme for almost three years. In that time, her mobility has deteriorated and she is much more confused. The care offered never wavers. Mum is treated with kindness and respect and is encouraged to join in whatever activities she can. I can always speak to the staff and know they would contact me if there were any concerns. This home was a true Godsend and we have been so pleased that Mum came to live here.

Mum moved into Brookholme Residential Home in May this year following a diagnosis of Parkinson's related dementia mum was no longer capable of independent living. Mum's symptoms worsened at great speed which was very hard to come to terms with given the strong intelligent independent woman she had always been. Once settled into her new home it was comforting for my sister and myself to see that mum seemed happy in her own world and has told us both that the carers are kind and attentive with her, that she is comfortable in her room and enjoys the activities and the food at Brookholme. The manager is very responsive if we have a request or concern and ensures we are kept informed on progress and outcome and the owner has been very understanding regarding the lasting POA process. All in all the team at Brookholme have made this very difficult transition more bearable for which we are greatly appreciative and thank them for the compassion and care mum has and continues to receive.

Sadly Mum recently passed away. Mum was poorly for a few months and the attention, care, love, respect and compassion Mum received never wavered, this was also extended to us as a family.
