During the pandemic, the staff at Brookholme have been first class as ever, and have worked wonders keeping the home virus free. The situation has been made more difficult by guidelines requiring residents to remain in their own rooms, which must be stressful. Nonetheless, spirits have been kept up by innovations such as the use of a Facebook portal to keep in touch with families (I’ve particularly welcomed this to keep in touch with mum) and continuing the excellent activities as best possible. Thank You to everyone, your efforts are really appreciated!

My mother, aged 99 has been at Brookholme for many years and I cannot fault the care and treatment she has received. My cousin, aged 92 is also in the home and has received every care despite being a more 'difficult' resident than my mother. Despite all the problems of the last few months, I have been impressed by the care and hard work of the staff and of their kindness to relatives who have not been able to see family for so long.

My relative has only been in this care home so I cannot compare with any other. The care home is clean and comfortable and the staff looks after the needs of a diverse group of people with care and compassion. There are daily activities which the residents are encouraged to take part in and notable dates/occasions are celebrated. Visitors are welcomed and encouraged.

It is very homelike - not institutional. The carers have a genuine affection for the residents and see them as individuals. There are lots of activities available, and the staff are always looking for ways to improve the residents experiences. There is a family atmosphere.

The staff always have time to answer questions and to get to know the residents family, involve them if they wish to be active in the care home and their family members care.

I have been most impressed by the friendliness of all of the staff and in particular the way in which they relate to the people in their care. They treat them with respect, with friendship, and with a sensitivity to their individual needs and behaviours.

The team at Brookholme have looked after my Mum for over 4 years...up to and including her passing earlier this month. They have been absolutely fantastic! Their care, compassion, patience and sheer dedication ensured my Mum spent the last (confused) years of her life in a safe, caring environment with people who treated her with dignity and respect. What more could anyone wish for?

I am so grateful to every single member of staff who supported my Mum...and me and my family... during the last weeks of her life. Truly exceptional and personal care - thank you!

I find the staff very friendly, whenever I visit mum. Mum is happy and content at the home and enjoys the food. The staff work hard and overall I have no complaints. If I do raise a concern it is usually dealt with or acknowledged.

The only area I would like to improve is encouraging mum to participate more in activities or 1-1 time, particularly as I can't visit as often as I used to. The management are very good and are always willing to discuss any issued/updates OK.

Mum is being well cared for at Brookholme Residential Home. She has mobility difficulties but is encouraged and supported to walk, giving her essential exercise. When medical problems have occurred prompt arrangements for care from the local GP surgery have been made.
The staff are friendly and approachable and there is a relaxed atmosphere in the home.

Mum's room is light and airy and the lounge areas are pleasant. She enjoys the food on offer, which is plentiful, and there is sufficient choice to overcome any dislikes.
