Overall Experience
My mum was resident in Overseal Residential Care Home from April 2021 until her death in hospital at Christmas 2021.
Firstly, as mum became unwell staff acted in a professional and timely manner to access the care and support that she needed. Communication with myself was second to none.

I’m comforted knowing that my mum died having felt loved and cared for by the staff at Overseal. They were always amazing to me too. I couldn’t fault this home and would highly recommend.

My mother was a resident at Overseal Residential Care Home for the last 18 months of her life, sadly passing away this week.

She was quite happy to move into the home and easily took to the staff and facilities. Also, importantly, I and my family were happy too.

The staff at the Home have always been very efficient in their care duties and willing to go the extra mile to make residents happy and contented. There are regular events and parties for birthdays and anniversaries, and to celebrate such things as VE day which many of the residents would have been involved with the day of the event.

Since early July, mum's health has deteriorated slowly and we were advised by the manager to visit as frequently as we could. We were always allowed to visit following a lateral flow test and wearing PPE. We were also in touch by telephone with regular updates as to mum's condition.

Finally, Mum passed away in her sleep on 22nd and was afforded every dignity at the time.

I thank you all.

My father had been a resident since December 2020 until he sadly passed away in June 2021.
As a family, we cannot fault the level of professional care and support given by all the staff. All requirements for his comfort, well-being and medical needs were constantly monitored and adjusted to ensure a high level of care. Dad enjoyed the company of the happy staff and we thank them for treating him with continued respect and dignity as he neared the end of life.

The family will always remain extremely grateful to all the wonderful staff at Overseal Residental Home.

The manager and her team have looked after my father since December 2020. I can't fault their care, friendship, support and commitment to making my father's time there as enjoyable and comfortable as can be. I had visited a number of times post lockdown and was always met with a professional and competent team.

My Mum is being cared for at Overseal Care Home. She has dementia. I am so grateful to them for the care they give my mum. The staff are friendly and supportive and are always available to chat to. I live in London so my mum is far away from me but I feel like she is being cared for by lovely caring people and she is so happy there. She is definitely at home at Overseal and is comfortable surrounded by professional carers who treat her like she is their own family. I would specifically like to thank her carers who have an amazing bond with mum. Thank you so much Overseal for making my mum's final years happy ones.

My mum is a resident at Overseal Care Home. I live in South Africa so it's important to me and my sister that mum is in a place she is happy. The home, the staff, the carers are the most amazing people. I never have to worry about being so far away that mum is ok. Mum is so happy since she has been there. The staff treat her like she is their own mother. Thank you everyone at Overseal for the care and love you show Mum. Truly an amazing care home.

My Dad was resident for nine months until he sadly passed away in January 2020.

I cannot fault the care and support he was given by all members of the team from day one. His needs were closely monitored and all requirements for his health and wellbeing acted upon as necessary. There is a lovely feeling and atmosphere about the home which is noticeable as soon as you become a visitor and part of the wider Overseal family. Any questions or concerns are immediately addressed. The staff always make time to be available for you and nothing is too much trouble. The care, respect and dignity Dad was given as he neared the end of life was second to none as was the comfort and support given to us at a very difficult time. As a family, we will always have the utmost gratitude for everything that was done for Dad during his time there and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending this home to others.

I would like to give thanks and praise to all the staff at Overseal Care Home for doing an exceptional job of caring for our beloved Mum, Nana and Gran Gran. They treated us all with the upmost respect from day one and could not have done any more than they did for her or us.

I would definitely recommend Overseal Care Home to other family and friends as I feel we are blessed to live in a community that has these amazing people looking after them. I wish you all well for the future.

Woodville Residential Care Home is clean, smells nice, homely, has nice food, drinks are provided regularly through the day, as well as snacks. The carers all seem friendly and always willing to help. My mum has been there a year now, and after a few teething problems is now settled nicely. The manager is always there to help if I have any problems or questions.

I cannot commend the team enough for the love and care they given to my dear Mother. She had three weeks with the team before I lost her. The team under the wonderful care home manager gave mum and the family the love and support during her short time there. I will always be grateful and won't lose touch with you all. Much love.

Reply from Kerry Eyley, Manager at Overseal Residential Home

Thank you so much, Jenny, for your commendable comments. We aim to treat every Mum as our Mum and every Dad as our Dad. That is what makes it like a real family. A true Home Away From Home. However, suffice to say it is the residents, the families and the staff that make it all happen. So, as a manager, I am truly obliged to you all. Please keep in touch and do drop in for a cup of tea!

Please commend all staff for the care given to my sister during her short time [3 weeks] before her end of life. The compassion and professional attitude is to be applauded during this difficult family time. Friendships were forged, not only with staff but also with residents who will not be forgotten.

Reply from Kerry Eyley, Manager at Overseal Residential Home

Thank you so much for such commendable words of the Overseal. We miss your sister as every resident to us is like a family of our own. The Home's asset as you say is the hard working staff and management who treat all residents as family - a Home away from Home. Many thanks.

Overseal Residential is a brilliant home with a dedicated manager and wonderful caring staff. My Mum has been here for a few years now and is very well looked after, all her needs are met and she is treated with dignity and respect. The care staff are very attentive and they are always looking out for the residents, most of the time with big smiles on their faces which in turn makes the residents more relaxed and happy. The new manager can not do enough for you, she is very welcoming and easy to talk to. Nothing is too much trouble and she puts you at ease straight away, which is what you need when you are leaving your loved one in the care of someone else.

Some areas of decor are a little tired but the new owners are on top of this.

More importantly the care the residents receive is excellent. The staff manage to get the right balance between professional and caring.

My uncle went in for a temporary stay and wanted to stay long term. I think that says everything you need to know.

Overall, the care home carries out its role very well. It is not pretentious. Staff work well with our relative. She is well cared for across all the important areas - personal care, medication, comfort, professional inputs ie nurses when dressings required. Communication with relative and family is excellent.
