My mother is a resident of Regency Care Home. My mother was very malnourished when at home weighing around 6 1/2 stone, hair falling out, since being in Regency formally Fayal Bank - my mother is a healthy weight hair has grown back. Now taking her prescribed medication that she wasn't before going into the home. The management have been excellent with all my queries and worried, getting mums hospital appointments GP visits, I am so pleased mum is taken care of. My mum loves the food, her room is spacious. The care staff are excellent with mum and she tells me they are lovely to her.

I have been very satisfied with the care being given for my mother, The care staff have allways been very helpful with all of mums care needs, The management staff have put my mind at rest when I need reassuring about mum. Mum is very happy with her en-suite room. Also mum has made friends with other residents and loves the activities especially when the singers come in.

Mother has a spacious room, with ensuite facilities. The room is newly decorated with a new carpet and furnishings in good condition. The staff are patient and take time to care for the residents. A large lounge area is provided and the dining room is separate. The meals are varied, with choices, and well presented. Drinks and snacks are always available. Entertainment and activities are provided regularly. Security is excellent.

When I visit the staff on duty always know who I am and will find time to discuss any concerns they or I may have. Mother is safe and happy at Regence, which is very reassuring to me. Thank you.

Just thought I would put another review as my mother has been in residential care for 7 months now. I would like to start by praising all the staff for their continuing care for my mother. I can't praise them enough for their professionalism towards myself and my mum. She has settled in so well and thinks she is at home. She has her hair and nails done regularly. Mum loves the food . The standard of the residential home is clean, tidy and warm full of laughter and entertainment. Management and staff are all approachable . They listen to you if a problem arises. If anyone is thinking of putting their love ones in a residential home . I would definitely recommend the Regency.

My partner came to the Regency 28th Jan and has been shown nothing but love and care. The facilities and staff are amazing nothing too much trouble. The staff are very encouraging and get Donna to participate in all activities. The care, the food games and singalongs are a joy to watch seeing how settled she is. It has made me feel so reassured that she is getting the best care. Regency care home + staff your amazing. Thank you.

My friend moved into this home 2 months ago and has been very happy since being there. The staff treat her with respect and are attentive. She says she likes all of the carers. Whenever I attend the home to visit or collect my friend the home is clean, warm and welcoming and all the staff are approachable and helpful. I often see activities such as art and entertainment taking place and residents are encouraged to be involved if they wish.

A wonderful home for my mum. Excellent facilities. Staff are excellent. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff are very professional and kind. Food is excellent. A member of staff stopped my mum from choking. Another member of staff called the doctor to mum- mum ended up in hospital but was released the next day. She had a water infection and I believe the member of staff got mum looked at, at the right time/exact time- hence she came home next day.

Having moved mum from a small homely, comfortable, friendly care home to a large open space, winged care home where the conditions are impressive, as a family, we have found its lost personal contact and interaction. The carrots are kind and conscientious, which makes a valuable contribution, seeing the same staff and residents. Helped my mum settle well, although she has the stimulation and community feel. We believe some entertainment in a central hub would help enormously. Recently, Mum's toilet failed to flush. As there is no communal toilet in the wing, Mum had to have a commode which the deputy manager dealt with efficiently. This was due to blocked drains. I can't thank the management and staff enough for such a smooth, organised move.

The staff moving residents and themselves from another care home seemed to go very smoothly. I am pleased with the room my mum has, her being bedbound, it's good that she has a view of the garden and the trees.

We have moved from another care home to the Regency Care Home, the rooms and overall cleanliness of the Regency is far superior. The good part is that the staff have moved over too which is great since the care staff are really good with our mother and she seems really happy with the move.

Overall Experience

Mum's care was outstanding and caring - which was all I wanted, the food and cleanliness was excellent - it's not a 5-star hotel which some places make out to be - however, it was more than adequate. A few months into Mum's care- an entertainment person started and this in my opinion made an enormous contribution to the residents well being and mood, this made trips available and also one-to-one trips if appropriate for the resident, as well as singers on site and games etc. I hope this still happens. Mum had dementia, all the staff stood in line for Mum's funeral car and four members attended the funeral itself.

I took Mum out to see a friend today for a cuppa. Whilst out, she suddenly started leaning to the left in her wheelchair. I managed, with difficulty, to get her into the car and drove her back to the home. On arrival, I couldn't get her out of the car because she was leaning against the door. I managed to attract the attention of one of the carers and he was an absolute star. He helped me get her out of the car, took her into the home, settled her and took her obs. He just took control of the entire situation. The paramedics were called, and he stayed with her until they arrived and looked after her. It was thought that she had had a TIA, however, she refused to go to hospital and the ambulance crew explained to the carer exactly what to do and when. I certainly would have struggled today if he had not been there.

My mum came to Queensferry Court on a short-term basis, with the possibility of it being permanent. Unfortunately, Mum deteriorated and passed away within a month. I found the staff caring, efficient and very easy to talk to.

Please let me thank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to look after such a wonderful lady. In the short time that Mum resided at Queensferry Court, our carers had built such a wonderful relationship with her, she will be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Overall Experience
There are some very kind, conscientious carers at Queensferry Court who I would like to have named as they helped mum and me cope with her two-week stay. Their positive and valuable contributions are undermined by a system that fails to enforce standards and therefore turns a blind eye to unkind and inefficient practices. Communication about and recorded information of the residents is inconsistent. It took some time for the fact my mum was vegetarian to be documented and observed. Despite the GP prescribing enteric-coated low-dose aspirin, it had not been sourced a week later.
When I voiced my concerns to the manager he listened for less than 5 minutes, scribbled a few things down then made excuses and left. He gave me no explanations or solutions.

We express thanks to those who truly cared for mum, and they will know who they are. The unkind, dismissive, and generally impatient attitudes which mum encountered, especially at night, should be thwarted by active management which enforces standards.

Thank you for your review, we are sorry that your experiences weren't what you or mum expected, we offer assurances that all the meals that were provided to mum during her stay were in fact consistent with her dietary requirements. Your meeting with the home manager was taken over by the deputy...
