The purpose of this review is to comment on the prevention of abuse. There is an excellent display setting out the abuse policy for the home. It is clear, to the point and relevant. My visits to the home indicate that the prevention of abuse policy is in action and followed by staff.

The carers and domestics have been very good and patient with my mother's needs. Now that she has reached 100 she really does need help now to dress in the mornings and someone to put in her hearing aids also in the morning. Whilst the inside of the home is kept clean, the carpet in her bedroom badly
needs replacing. The smell of urine in her room is quite bad. The outside areas where staff and residents sit is very untidy. My mother really enjoys her food at the home.

I am very pleased with the care that my Mother in Law is receiving. The carers are very professional and understanding. The residents are never too much trouble. The home is a modern building and very light with open windows - the garden has a nice seating area for the residents when the weather is
kind. The food is of good standards. Mother in Law loves the custard. The only downside from my point of view is the room where Mother in Law is. It requires new floor covering and the bed needs a new mattress.

The staff are wonderful, but my Mum's room constantly smells of urine. The carpet and mattress need replacing. The floor needs to be wooden or lino to make easy cleaning. My sisters have brought this up with the management but still, nothing has been done. Mum has celebrated her 100th birthday in the
home this month. They gave her a wonderful party at tea time with a great singer. Would be lovely if he came every month.

The staff and the care that is given is tops and all the staff are very friendly. The home is clean and if you ask the staff for anything, they will do it there and then for you. It's a very happy home and the manager is great, they take the time to speak to you as well. I would recommend this home
should anyone ask me about it because it's a friendly home and the care is excellent!

My Mother has been at Curtis Weston for about 4 years, she has dementia and can get physically and mentally challenging. I have always found that the staff deal with this very well. She tells me that she feels safe and happy in the home and that there is always someone around if she needs any sort of
help. Any issues that have arisen in this time eg. her care or medication, I have always felt that I can and do liaise with the manager and have full trust and faith in the care she is given by all.

Nice bedroom. My own tv, cd player.
The food is nice and my key worker is friendly. The manager is nice too.
I can shower myself. Hot tea for breakfast with bacon, egg and beans.

Sometimes we have noticed there is a shortage of staff in regards to the number of residents day and night. We have experienced the lack of communication between staff concerning care and treatment to residents. The recent reduction of activities due to staff shortages.
Problem with security with access
to residents rooms a problem as elderly residents unable to manage to secure their rooms.

Rebecca is the home manager here at Curtis Weston, Rebecca has been with the company since 2019. Rebecca started her career with the company as a carer and loved her role. Throughout her time with the company Rebecca progressed to a senior then to a deputy manager and most recently to be the manager of Curtis Weston a role she is very much enjoying.
