My dad moved into the care home in March after a hospital stay and time in rehab. As a family, we're so happy with the care he's received. He's always well kept-freshly shaven, well dressed, and physically cared for. All of his needs are met, and he's truly happy there. The staff are kind and considerate,
and there's always someone present in the lounges, engaging with residents. It's lovely to hear the friendly communication throughout the home. From the start, staff made us feel at ease, showing us his room and making it as comfortable as possible. The home is spotless and always smells fresh. Having a loved one in care can be daunting, especially as my daughter has worked in the sector and knows not all homes are like this. But this one is exceptional. We feel completely reassured knowing my dad is safe, content, and well looked after.

My mother arrived at Abbey House after spending 2 1/2 weeks in hospital post a fall and chest infection. She was not eating or drinking without help, incontinent and disorientated. She is now mobile with a frame, enjoying food which she eats and feeds herself. She joins in the daily activities and has
made friends with other residents. She looks well cared for and has put weight on. Everyone who cares for her are friendly kind and caring. Thank you.

It has been over a year since my last review of Arbor House. My mother has been a resident for over six years now and I continue to have full faith in the level of care that the home, it's staff and management provide for her. My mother's health is deteriorating but she continues to be well looked after.
The staff treat my mother with respect and kindness. They engage with my mother and are happy and smiling when interacting with her. The home itself remains clean and tidy and is very well run by the manager and her team of staff. If there are any health issues with my mother I am always contacted promptly and kept informed on how my mother is.
I can only visit at weekends but I continue to not worry about my mother as I know she is being well looked after at Arbor House. Many thanks to all who give me peace of mind that mum is ok!

My mum has been in the care of this wonderful home for over five years
As she is now in latter stages of Alzheimer's and requires more care and attention I couldn't ask for more from the staff at Arbor House.
They are always cheerful and welcoming and the home is kept spotless and clean.
In this
era of diminishing NHS services, it's a comfort that a doctor visits every week and medical treatment is always speedily administered.
Thank you everyone for your care and compassion

Huntingdon Court

from J M (Grandson of Resident) published on 31 March 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5

My late grandmother was in this home for the last year of her life. I genuinely believe that there are some diligent staff doing their best. However they are sadly being let down by poor management, impacting carers, residents and families.
My grandmother was victim to an extremely unpleasant incident
which was horrendous for her and the family. This eventually led to the member of staff responsible being dismissed, though the management were slow to act, and have failed to reach out to us or to offer any apology.
Following my grandmother's passing in October 24 they readily acknowledge that they erroneously have over £18000 which belongs to her estate. They report that they owe lots of refunds, and so cannot repay this. They have failed to meet ANY of their self-imposed instalments over months. Solicitors letters have been ignored.
Please treat with caution if you have loved ones in the care of this company. It is a matter of public record that we are not alone in these circumstances.

Reply from Charlene limb, Manager at Huntingdon Court

I am sorry to hear that you was dissatisfied, i was new to the home and your grandmother passed peacefully within my first week. Your grandmothers son was happy with the care of his mum when i spoken with him in the first week. We have a complaints procedure and nothing written in the above has been raised to the home to be looked into and addressed. Again i apologise for your frustration and the way you must be feeling.
