Arbor House

What an excellent team! We saw some awful care homes so we know that Arbor House is a real find. They understand Dementia and they make life as fun as they can. It was Mums birthday this week and the whole atmosphere was one of a party and singing. The lovely young carers have stunning voices and were happy to sing happy birthday again and again as Mum would forget that it had already been sung several times. They make a big fuss of her. I am sure there are quieter relaxed days as well. Mum has been there for about 3 years now. She is well dressed, clean, her room is always clean and tidy and her bed made. Mums friends from church are all welcome to visit. The staff are supportive, welcoming, empathetic, kind and respectful. If Mum says she doesn't want to do something they listen to her. Sharni is parcularly lovely - answers any questions & is a delight. I have been unwell recently and not able to see her as often as before but I know she is in safe hands.

My father has been a resident at Arbor House for nearly 2 years and in that time he has settled in very well and thinks he is on holiday and staying in a hotel. Any concerns that I have raised about my fathers health such as his deteriorating mobilty or hearing needs have been addressed by the team immediately and the relevent health care professionals have dealt with his needs. My father has settled in very well and he is familiar with all of the staff. Gladys has a great team who work very hard looking after all of the residents, and its a welcoming place.

He has settled extremely well, and is very happy, and his confidence has returned since his fall. He has integrated very well considering he lived alone previously and was very independent. He really enjoys the company and staff and has no complaints at all.

Mum has been living at Arbor House for approaching eight years and throughout, mum's care has been exemplary. Her needs are very different to when she first moved into Arbor House and she continues to be treated with respect and dignity by all the staff. The manager and her team of staff do an excellent job of caring for mum, they are always in good spirits and interact with mum in a friendly and affectionate manner. I am always informed promptly if there are any issues with mum's health and kept up-to-date with visits from health professionals. The staff deal with any questions I have concerning mum very quickly, which is much appreciated. The home is well managed and continues to be very clean and tidy. Thank you to all the staff for the care you give to my mum.

Mum is cared for and looked after 100%, the staff are always very helpful and share with us information at all times..love it how the care home involve us with parties etc to see how everyone interacts as it must be very challenging at times ...

I would recommend anyone struggling with a loved one with dementia to entrust them into Arbor House.

My dad moved into the care home in March after a hospital stay and time in rehab. As a family, we're so happy with the care he's received. He's always well kept-freshly shaven, well dressed, and physically cared for. All of his needs are met, and he's truly happy there. The staff are kind and considerate, and there's always someone present in the lounges, engaging with residents. It's lovely to hear the friendly communication throughout the home. From the start, staff made us feel at ease, showing us his room and making it as comfortable as possible. The home is spotless and always smells fresh. Having a loved one in care can be daunting, especially as my daughter has worked in the sector and knows not all homes are like this. But this one is exceptional. We feel completely reassured knowing my dad is safe, content, and well looked after.

I Would like to leave a review of the lovely care my mum received at Arbor House Leicester. Mum passed away at Arbor house at the beginning of April, the care my mum and I received was second to none, it’s hard to put into words how good they were. They looked after her for 2 years, in that time mum was happy safe spotlessly clean and well fed, my family and myself are very grateful for all they did for mum, all the staff were so kind and caring. Thank you so much.

On my aunt's behalf, I would like to express my sincere appreciation for her care during her stay at Arbor House and say 'thank you very much' to every individual involved in looking after her. Her care was second to none, and the manager is an excellent home manager who shows diligent consideration for both her staff and the residents.

My mother has now been a resident at Abour House for the past 12 months, and after an initial settling-in period, she is now thriving at Abour House. We have always found the care home to be very welcoming, and the staff are always friendly and caring.

My mother has been living in Arbor House for several years now. Having visited half a dozen or so different homes, Arbor House was clearly the best option for her for a variety of reasons. And nothing has occurred since for me to question that judgment. The home appears to have a “happy” calm atmosphere, and that must be due to the wonderful staff led by the manager. The staff are warm, patient, obliging, friendly and caring to residents and visitors alike. But the home is also professional and efficient; the building is always clean and well-maintained. The communication with resident’s families is very good. Arbor House itself is situated in a nice, quiet and peaceful setting. The bedrooms are pleasant and functional, and there are plenty of spacious communal rooms for residents to relax and meet their family and friends. Most importantly, the residents appear to be in a safe environment. I hope my mother will be able to continue living in Arbor House for the foreseeable future.

Thank you for making her as comfortable as you did, throughout her time with you. You were never phased when she was awkward, you always just laughed and looked after her, as if she was related to you all! My nan loved each and everyone of you. We are devastated that she has left us but can rest easy knowing that she was in your expert hands, and loved by you all. I will miss seeing you all on my visits. Eternal thanks to you all, keep up the excellent work, love always.

Though our step mum was at the home for a short time, she settled in well. We would like to thank all staff for the wonderful care given to our step mum. Our step mum would always tell us about a member of staff who she called smiler. Thanks again for all the dedicated care.

No amount of words could ever express our appreciation and gratitude to you. Thank you for all that you did for our Mum for the care, support and kindness you gave to her during her stay with you, it meant so very much to us. "You are very special people". Mum has been at Arbor House since the beginning of August. She struggled to settle in the first couple of weeks but the care staff were amazing with her. Patient, understanding and very caring which has resulted in mum being so much more settled now. Every member of the care team I've interacted with has been helpful, compassionate and so friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they always have a warm friendly welcome for me. It's clean, tidy as well as bright and cheerfully decorated. They are an amazing team.

My Mum has just had 2 weeks respite care in Arbor House. The home itself was clean, tastefully decorated and comfortable. The Manager and staff went above and beyond, doing all they could to care for all of my Mum's needs while she was there. I can't thank them enough for their dedication and hard work. I just wish she would have stayed a little longer because I'm sure her health issues would have improved.
