My husband and I are very impressed with Huntingdon Court Care Home. All residents are treated with care and dignity. The staff are responsive. The food is exemplary - home cooking and residents are treated to a lovel yhome made cake on their birthdays. Varied activities for residents to enjoy and involvement
with the local church. Really happy with all aspects of care.

My mum has been at Huntingdon Court for nearly 2 years. Staff treat my mum with great dignity and respect.
Nothing is never too much trouble. All residents seem to benefit from a vast assortment of daily activities and excellent entertainment.
I'm happy that my mum is well cared for. It means the
world to me to know she is in safe hands.

My mum came into this home from hospital in a very poor state of health. The staff really looked after her and called the paramedics and doctor, and have cared for her really well since.
Charlene has been supportive with helping us get funding for Mum's care, we are very grateful!

Mum was at Huntingdon Court for 3.5 years and in that time she was always well cared for. The care staff are lovely and they really do care, which made such a difference in mum's final years. Mum was always clean and well dressed.
If there was a problem, small or large they always contacted me to
discuss and especially if a decision needed to be made. The doctor/district nurse is always contacted quickly if needed and the local doctor visits on a weekly basis.
I would recommend Huntingdon Court to anyone, it is always clean with a good atmosphere. The Security is good.
They do so fantastic activities to keep the residents engaged on a day-to-day basis and really encourage them to join in. Christmas is great, Santa visits on Christmas day to hand out presents.
Reply from Charlene limb, Manager at Huntingdon CourtThank you Charlotte, mum was such a pleasure to look after and her lovely smile will be missed. Such a supportive family

I think it's very nice and clean. The staff make residents feel at home. The care they give to the residents is 100%.
I am so pleased my sister is in the care home, as for care as well couldn't be bettered.

My late grandmother was in this home for the last year of her life. I genuinely believe that there are some diligent staff doing their best. However they are sadly being let down by poor management, impacting carers, residents and families.
My grandmother was victim to an extremely unpleasant incident
which was horrendous for her and the family. This eventually led to the member of staff responsible being dismissed, though the management were slow to act, and have failed to reach out to us or to offer any apology.
Following my grandmother's passing in October 24 they readily acknowledge that they erroneously have over £18000 which belongs to her estate. They report that they owe lots of refunds, and so cannot repay this. They have failed to meet ANY of their self-imposed instalments over months. Solicitors letters have been ignored.
Please treat with caution if you have loved ones in the care of this company. It is a matter of public record that we are not alone in these circumstances.
Reply from Charlene limb, Manager at Huntingdon CourtI am sorry to hear that you was dissatisfied, i was new to the home and your grandmother passed peacefully within my first week. Your grandmothers son was happy with the care of his mum when i spoken with him in the first week. We have a complaints procedure and nothing written in the above has been raised to the home to be looked into and addressed. Again i apologise for your frustration and the way you must be feeling.

My husband has been a resident at Huntingdon Court since September and in that time he has been extremely well looked after.
The entire team genuinely make every effort to ensure his needs are met.
Every member of staff from management to carers, kitchen staff, domestics and laundry knows and treats
him and his fellow residents with
care, respect and compassion.
Always on the ball when it comes to the right time to call in the professional services e.g. Doctors, SALTS, District Nurse, ensuring I am
aware/involved.
Links with GP surgery are very good.
Always welcoming when I visit.

How this care home has so many good reviews is beyond me, frankly the place should be shut down in my opinion.
The photos at the top of this review page are not of this care home, the interior looks nothing like this, the home is dated and in desperate need of refurbishment and modernisation, they
say a picture paints a thousand words, these pictures are painting a thousand lies. My relative has managed 10 days before we've taken the decision to remove them from the home, for a person with Alzheimer's the deterioration they've had in the last week has been unbelievable compared to several months prior in their own and relatives homes. The food in inedible, most of the carers are more interested in their mobile phones than actually looking after residents, the have little engagement with the residents and some of them, who I will refrain from naming here, are downright rude. Residents personal belongings regularly go missing or are "lent" to other people without permission!
Reply from Sahini Chatla, Customer Relationship Manager at Huntingdon CourtThank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear about your experience at Huntingdon Court. We are refurbishing our facilities whenever required and are working towards improving the quality of residents' experience. We are currently investigating the issues you've raised and will update you on the outcome. We are once again sorry that you are not satisfied with our service.

Mum was transferred to Huntingdon Court in November 2023 after Covid and associated infections left her unable to walk and needing 24/7 care. The staff were very kind, patient and understanding. Mum settled in well and we were very happy with the standard of care she was given.
It really says a lot
about a Care Home when you can visit at any time and are always made to feel welcome.
We even got to decorate Mum's bedroom and fitted it out with new curtains and duvet. It was lovely that she at last got to have family photos on display.
Unfortunately Mum passed away unexpectedly in February 2024. The staff were again very kind and helpful, and we cannot thank them enough.

Having moved my sister from her previous care home to Huntingdon Court we both couldn't be happier, it's a clean and welcoming facility with lovely carers who never find it too much trouble to do whatever you ask of them.
All the residents look clean and cared for and the food is really good, especially
the cakes.
It may not be the poshest care home but it's beautifully clean and definitely one of the sweeter-smelling places.
Her stay was going to be respite only but two weeks in and she's decided to make it her home.

Was a bit concerned when I read the CQC report but went and viewed the property and agreed with his daughter that he should go there. From when we moved my brother in the care that he received was outstanding. We went to see him at different times of day and night and the care was very good.
Unfortunately
my brother has now passed away and I would like to thank all the staff that looked after him thank you all very much for the care you showed my brother

Wow what a transformation. I felt the home lacked a homely feel, now that most of the rooms here have been decorated with that lovely homely feel. It's so nice to see photos of the service users when I visited my relation. The activities coordinator is always interacting playing games also taking service
users out. It's so lovely to also see the service users celebrate birthdays.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.985)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.985) out of 10 for Huntingdon Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.160 for Huntingdon Court is calculated as follows: ( (116 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (20 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 187 Ratings = 4.16
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Huntingdon Court is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
