Can't praise the team at Hadrian House enough. From day one, they were more than helpful with financial, medical and care issues. Fantastic level of care, always very friendly and accommodating, brilliant interaction with the residents whilst maintaining a very high level of dignity.
Rooms always clean
and decorated on a regular basis, and a good variety of activities provides a fun atmosphere for residents.

Derek was bereft, self-neglectful, and recovering from alcohol overuse. He has come to Hadrian Hoyse, and due to the staff's awareness, thoughtfulness and professionalism, he is happy, clean, well cared for and has a good relationship with the staff.

Mum was very happy in this home. The staff were kind, caring, and very welcoming. The staff are the biggest asset to the home, they looked after Mum very well when she became bed bound. Washing and feeding her, and giving her medication. A big thank you to you all.

We've been very happy with my grandmothers over all care at Hadrian House. She's been much brighter and safer than when she was at home. Even with a dementia diagnosis she's getting on really well.

My mum was at Hadrians House from December 2024 to April 2025
A big thank you for the wonderful care you gave my mother in her last days. From the office staff, carers and cleaners all do a wonderful job showing care, love, and joy towards my mum, always there to answer questions or talk over and concerns
we as a family may have. They were very attentive and the home, even though looks a little tired is very clean and the care is excellent. Thank you all for looking after her and making her last days peaceful.

Care and support are good. Very attentive staff to residents' needs. Always someone to reassure the resident's relative if needed. Premises could do with an update as several areas in the building are looking very tired. Also, make the garden more appealing to the residents and visitors.

My sister was admitted to Hadrian House on the advice of social services. The staff and management made her very welcome and have shown care and consideration in her short time here. They also helped relieve the stress I have been experiencing throughout this whole process.

Mum has been a resident for approximately two years. She has been looked after well by the staff. She can be a little difficult at times due to her dementia, but the staff are patient with her and try to accommodate her needs. My concerns are that she does lose a lot of clothes I have provided. I'm
not really sure if they get lost during laundry service. Accommodation is clean but is very tired and could do with a lick of paint.
Reply from Laura-Ann Radu, Manager at Hadrian HouseThank you for your review, I have already looked into your mum's clothes going missing and we have spoken about this, if you are still unhappy and her clothes are still going missing please come and see me.

Generally I feel my husband is looked after well, but find it difficult to find out information from staff about his health etc. Only learned about a fall he had, weeks later, and he told me he had blood taken, at first was told it hadn't happened, then weeks later again, learned it had happened. Need
to be more open with the relatives. Facilities poor.
Reply from Laura-Ann Radu, Manager at Hadrian HouseThank you for your response, I am deeply sorry you feel that way, when you are next in I would like to offer you a meeting with me to talk through any concerns you may have to see why this is happening and to discuss your concerns regarding the facilities.

What a wonderful setting. My grandad came to Hadrian House mid June for some respite care, and after seeing a massive improvement in him we made the decision to keep him there and he is now a permanent resident of Hadrian House. The staff go above and beyond, treat the residents with care and dignity.
We are a large family and my Grandad receives several visitors a day- staff are always welcoming and happy to see you. Meals are lovely, facilities are lovely and we are just so pleased Grandad is happy. Residents are taken out on trips, and they have in-house areas such as a bar and hairdressers, which are wonderful. I myself work in a day nursery so I am aware of the importance of safeguarding and other policies and see this being followed well. I must make a special mention to one staff member, who has been exceptional. I have nothing bad to say about this setting, our experience so far has been great. Thank you Hadrian House.
Reply from Laura-Ann Radu, Manager at Hadrian HouseThank you for the review. I will be sure to share this with all the team here at Hadrian House, we are so pleased that you decided to bring your grandad back to us and how well he is doing.

My Grandad (94 years old) first went into Hadrian House for 2 weeks of respite in June 2023.
We were extremely nervous as he had previously been into another home and we had a terrible experience so we had to take him out of the home due to poor care after one night. The care my grandad is receiving
is amazing. All of the staff are extremely friendly and attentive. My grandad settled in extremely well, so much so he s now a permanent resident. I visit my grandad every day. I am extremely happy with the care that all the residents are receiving they are all treated like family members. Thanks for looking after my grandad. I will be forever grateful to you all.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.181)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.181) out of 10 for Hadrian House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 13 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.381 for Hadrian House is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (53 Goods x 4) + (20 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 155 Ratings = 4.381
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hadrian House is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 12 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
