Hadrian House is situated in a quiet village of Thurmaston, where residents benefit greatly from staying in such a location with many local shops and amenities just a short walk away. This purpose-built care home allows maximum ease of access and comfort for all residents. Specialising in residential, dementia and respite care to name a few.

The Home has four lounges, light and modern dining room and bathrooms designed for easily access. Car parking facilities for visiting family and friends as well as large surrounding gardens which are secured for residents to enjoy. Regular supervised entertainment and activities either as a group or on a one-to-one basis if needed.

I cannot recommend Hadrian House highly enough. Our mother has blossomed since coming here a year ago. Testament to the care and engagement of the staff. Their affection is heartening to see. Bathed in natural light, the purpose built building is inviting and welcoming. The foot is plentiful and tasty.

The first time I walked into Hadrian House I knew it was the perfect place for my mum. All the staff were caring, down to earth and very jolly. The residents are treated with respect and genuine affection. and there's a proper family feel to the place.
I was particularly struck with the activities
based around remembrance day which teased out memories from all the residents. Couldn't be happier.

Once the Covid rules were relaxed and the residents were allowed to use the Communal lounges again, my mother refused to leave her room except for bathroom breaks. Her eyesight had deteriorated quite quickly and she also has problems with her hearing at times, and she kept maintaining that she was alright
where she was, in her room, where she knew where everything was. The staff were so good with her, keeping an eye on her and popping in for chats despite their considerable workload. They kept asking her would she like to go down to the lounge, to which she always replied no. The decision was always left to mum and her wishes were always respected. I was convinced she would never leave her room again. And then, there was a breakthrough. She not only went down to the lounge but also agreed to go outside for the Jubilee party. Since then she has been spending more and more time and has benefited from being in company. I cannot thank the staff enough for their patience and understanding.

Generally pretty good, lack of response when she presses her buzzer.
Food is generally not suitable for dinners, she cannot eat chewy or hard food only caters to the majority of residents. no choice of vegetables that she liked. Tea is served over and over again if asked for anything different.

My Mum became a resident at Hadrian House after a hip replacement. Initially, she was very confused. The staff were always patient and kind to her. During her stay she has improved greatly and their professionalism has helped her improve both physically and mentally.
She has enjoyed the activities
that Dave arranges especially the Nursery children visiting.
Thank you to all the staff for their care of us and Mum.

I am appalled at the “care” my aunt received during her time of 6 months at Hadrian House. There are a few members of staff who are obviously trying their best and they have been thanked for their input. Unfortunately, communication between management and staff and all staff and relatives is sorely
lacking. We were continually given conflicting information about my Aunt which meant we could never feel at ease about how she really was. There were often times when she and other residents were repeatedly asking for help with no response. My Aunt often looked unkempt, hair not combed, fingernails very long and filthy. She became more and more withdrawn. On one occasion I arrived at lunchtime. Her commode hadn’t been emptied from at least the night before. I asked for this to be done, it wasn’t. I left at 4.45 pm after she had used it 4 more times. It was full to the brim. Her emotional and communication needs were never met. There isn’t enough room here for all our numerous concerns.

I have been visiting my old friend since October 2021 that I have known for 46 years. She is bedridden and requires full-time care. Understandably this was a difficult time for Hadrian House as Covid was affecting staffing numbers. It took 30 minutes on each occasion to enter the premises due to stringent
safety procedures and tests carried out, as well as looking after residents. I have visited my friend once a week regularly and when I required to speak with the staff they always responded positively and tried to help. I have noticed her fingernails and toenails needed attending to and I have organised a chiropodist with the approval of the care home manageress. The manageress was supportive and this service is now extended to other residents. The whole staff has been communicating well and willing to answer any questions relating to my friend's needs. Overall, my experience at Hadrian House has been positive and I would recommend it for their individual care given and attention to residents' needs.

I have lived here for two years and i have always felt safe and looked after and very often checked on. Has improved now fully staffed. I am very happy but the food could have more variety. The activities are brilliant, especially the quizzes. Management is great and it's nice to see a manager stick
around. Staff are fantastic as are the team leaders. The younger staff could do with more training but on the whole, the staff are brilliant.

My aunt was in this home. The tiny room she was in was dirty, with a mousetrap and food on the floor. She was in a terrible state with no room to move and faeces under her nails.


Staff are doing the best they can with no resources, but this is privatised care at its worst.

My mother has been at this home for two years now and a lot has changed.
Within the last year, the care and the home itself has become outstanding. Before there seemed to be tension in the building. Mum was happy and settled so I didn't want to move her. Now the home feels happy. The staff are smiling
and happy. There is always something going on. Parties. Pampering. Film afternoons. A home pub and sensory room.
These staff members are worth their weight in gold. They care for all the residents so much. Everyone is so welcoming and they always make me feel like I'm surrounded by friends and family.
I am so thankful that you have kept my mother safe from the harm of covid. You are all wonderful people. You are doing an amazing job.

A really kind and caring place to put your loved one. It feels warm and homely as soon as you walk in. The staff are so caring and really do put the residents first. There are always plenty of staff around. The home really focuses on a person's recovery and well-being and quality of life. There are
no words to describe the meaningful care my sister has received. I can only hope I reside somewhere like this in my later days.

My Nanna was in this home and I can’t praise the staff enough! Nothing was ever too much trouble and no matter how busy they all were they always made time to look after my Nanna with the care and dignity she required and us as a family when we visited. From the domestics to the kitchen staff, care

Hadrian House is a home I would highly recommend. I always used to go in and found all staff highly caring and friendly to the point that I didn't want to leave and go home myself. The care towards the residents is outstanding, nothing is too much for them. I always pass by and still see staff making
sure that the residents are still being stimulated despite restrictions of Covid 19. Keep up the good work Hadrian House staff you are all doing a fantastic job even through this hard time.

I can't recommend Hadrian House enough. The staff go above and beyond every single day.
We have been kept informed and updated at all times.
Staff care for residents with compassion, empathy and patience.
Grandma has gone from strength to strength at Hadrian House; she is happy and well cared for,

Through these difficult times, the staff have worked extremely hard to ensure the residents are being taken care of and their needs being met. They have kept family informed throughout and done everything possible to ensure the residents are kept well and safe. Mum has had a few hospital appointments,
and the staff have been brilliant at ensuring she has been able to go, and there is someone there for her. They have chased the hospital up to make sure she has still been seen, and they go the extra mile. The home is well run, and the staff all play their part. The domestic staff do a fantastic job, and it is often too easy just to praise the carers, but everyone has an important role to play from the manager, the clerk, the activities lady, the care staff, the domestic all the way through each member of staff deserve credit for all their hard work.

Residents at Hadrian House always receive excellent care. The friendly and caring staff and management have always done their very best to support residents needs and made their life happy and meaningful. I think the care I receive here is wonderful, we are like one big family. The carers are very kind and always help me. I feel so very lucky. The manager is very kind and all of the girls in the office too. My family visit sometimes and I always look forward to that.
