Scince my mum has been at Tavey House I have found her care exceptional, kind, caring staff nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you for your kind words, mum is such and pleasure to care for.
What a lovely warm and friendly home Tavey House is. As soon as you walk inside you're made very welcome and treated like a friend, morning was too much trouble. Everywhere is clean and fragrant. My step dad spent his last 10 months there and he was so happy and well looked after. All the staff are really friendly and caring. They are considerate and approachable. We were contacted about any concerns or problems and these were dealt with. We were invited to special events and activities and everyone enjoyed them, they were special times to remember. It was a big decision to put him into a care home and we couldn't had chosen a nicer place for him.
Your kind words about our staff, communication and special events mean a great deal to us. Thank you for trusting us with his care.
My stepdad went into Tavey House last May and it was with a heavy heart that he needed to go into care. After viewing a couple of homes I am so glad that we, as a family, choose Tavey House as it is a lovely care home. It is modern, clean and well decorated throughout and the individual bedrooms are very nice. The staff at Tavey House are lovely and really care for the needs of your loved one in every way. Lisa the Manager is fantastic and an asset to the home as she is extremely friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble. The same applies to Tammy as she also has a lovely friendly personality and is lovely caring for the elderly. All the carers are just that "carers" and have a lovely bedside manner and try to make the residents stay as nice as possible for them. Tavey House have a number of events throughout the year which family members are invited to and are great fun. We would highly recommend Tavey House to anyone considering putting a loved one into care.
Your kind words about our home and the team mean a great deal. Thank you again for your support and recommendation.
The facilities are excellent with a good staff/resident ratio.
There is a safe and secure entry/exit point.
The management keep me fully updated in regard to all aspects of the care provided to my loved one and in relation to any issues that have presented.
There are many and varied activities/events ongoing within the home and I receive regular updates regarding these and any other information of note.
Thank you so much for your review. We are delighted to hear that you have had such a positive experience with Tavey House and that our team's professionalism, kindness and care have stood out to you. It is especially encouraging to know that you feel well informed and reassured about your loved...
When I visit I find everyone friendly and supportive. Have no difficulty at visiting when ever you want to.
Thank you so much for your review. Your kind words mean a great deal to us and we look forward to seeing you on your next visit.
Some rooms could do with a fresh up and new furniture. The thing I like the most are the staff they seem to care so much for the residents, spend time talking to them like people, and not pushing them to one side like some homes. They are all treated with dignity and compassion. If I was looking for a care home again Tavey House would be the one for me. Thank you to all the staff at Tavey House

Thank you so much for your lovely review! We're delighted to hear that you felt the warmth and care our team puts into looking after residents. Your feedback about the rooms is appreciated and helps us continue improving. We'll be sure to share your kind words with the staff - they'll be thrilled!
Unfortunately my mum passed away after only a few weeks at Tavy House but I cannot speak highly enough of the service. It is a small home and has a strong family atmosphere. All staff who work there are respectful towards the tenants and clearly know them all as individuals. I had moved my mum to Tavy house from another home and it took a lot of support and dedication from staff to help her settle. It was clear that through the compassionate approaches from staff that mum was finally able to settle down and spend her last weeks calm and relaxed having developed really strong relationships with staff. As mum' s daughter I was finally able to not worry about mum. I just wish she could have had longer living at Tavy house
Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt words during what we know is a very difficult time for you and your family. We are deeply sorry for your loss, and we feel privileged to have had the opportunity to care for your mum, even if only for a short while. It means a great deal to our team to...
When searching for care facilities for my wife, my family and I did not realise that a gem of a care home was so close to home. The staff, from management through to carers and ancillary staff are amazing. Friendly, caring, considerate and supportive both to residents and their families. 14 months ago my wife became a resident, any concerns we may have had were dealt with sympathetically and quickly. My wife's single room is always tidy, clean, warm and well-presented. From the entrance porch and throughout, cleanliness is excellent, no unpleasant smell or clutter lying around. No hesitation in giving Tavey a 5-star rating.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are truly honored that you chose Tavey for your wife's care. Your kind words motivate us to continue providing the highest standard of care. If there's ever anything more we can do, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you again for your trust and for the 5-star rating!
My dad has been at Tavey House for a few months now since leaving hospital following a fall and broken hip. I and family members had looked around for care homes earlier in the year and of those that we visited, Tavey was the best. We felt welcomed and the house seemed calm, quiet, well laid out, fantastically clean and bright and had a pleasant smell. Dad was eased into residence by the staff when a room became available and they took extra care to welcome him as he'd lost his hearing aids and glasses during the move. I and the family have visited many times since Dad moved in and we can honestly say he seems settled there. We visit whenever we want, are often offered tea and biscuits and can meet with Dad in the lounge or retire to his room for more privacy. He's been putting on weight (that he lost at hospital) and they have worked with the GP to optimise his medications. The staff are personable, caring and work hard. Would not choose anywhere else for Dad.
Thank you for your kind words, it is a pleasure to have Dad here in our care.
Mum spent her last nine days of her life in Tavey house. My brother and I are so grateful for all the staff's care and dedication to looking after Mum in her last few days. Her room was spotlessly clean and bright. We spent many days looking for a suitable home for Mum, so when we found Tavey House, it was such a relief. They set the bar well above the rest. Thanks again to all the staff with a special thank you to one particular lady.
Thank you for your kind words and positive comments. It was our pleasure to have Mum with us in her last days, and I am pleased that my team met with your expectations.
My mum became a resident of Tavey House in February 2024 after a fall and a chest infection. From the moment me and my dad visited Tavey House and met the staff we knew it was the right place for Mum. Everyone is so friendly and you feel a sense of calm when you enter the home. Mum was welcomed with open arms when she first arrived and everyone took time to get to know her which helped her settle in much quicker than we anticipated. The family enjoys visiting Mum as we know she is in a safe and secure environment where she is looked after well and is treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Mum is now slowly gaining weight and her mobility is getting better day by day, she has also started to take part in some of the activities which is a success story in itself! A huge thank you to all the staff and management. I would highly recommend Tavey House.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review at Tavey House. We are happy to hear about your positive experience and highly recommend us.
My Dad has been at Tavey House for about 9 months, having been unable to live at home any longer due to his dementia. We had such a good feel about Tavey House from the time we initially looked around and we haven’t been disappointed. The staff are incredible - from my Dad's key workers who take so much time to get to know him, to management who keep things running smoothly and are always available to discuss any concerns. It’s been hard for my Dad to settle, but the staff are constantly thinking about how to make my dad feel secure and they are so inclusive of family and friends. It is such a relief to know my Dad is so well cared for. Of course I would rather Dad could be independent at home, but I know that he is safe and secure and in the best place possible for him. I am so grateful that we found Tavey House and cannot thank them enough.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. We are always looking to provide the best care possible, so it is lovely to hear your thoughts. It's a pleasure to have Dad with us.
My husband has been a resident in this home for just over 5 months. I have visited him daily and have been able to observe, firsthand, the very high standards they keep. Everyone is so friendly - managers, carers, cooks, and cleaners - and all residents are treated with great kindness and dignity.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review on our service accompanied by the kind comments.
Tavey House is a very special place and not like a ‘normal’ care home, the managers and staff know all residents and their families as individuals and their own interests, they care so much and nothing is too much trouble. The activities co-ordinator is an added bonus and the activities and family days are lovely to be able to spend time with my dad. Tavey House is excellent in communicating to families when there is a need and is always keeping you informed of any updates even if minor. The staff are always smiling and care for the residents with love and compassion and have a greater knowledge of dementia and how that presents for different individuals, I would highly recommend this care home for any loved one that suffers with dementia and in need of 24-hour care.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a lovely review for Tavey House. We are pleased that you value and enjoy the activities organised for residents and families. Thank you.
Ticked all the boxes I was looking for my mum.
My mum settled in very well, her room was comfortable, light, bright, spotlessly clean and provided all facilities she required. Mum found the staff and management wonderful, kind, thoughtful, respectful, willing to do whatever was needed. Tavey House soon became Mum's home.
This gave us great comfort, as we had lost Dad a matter of weeks before. It was a very difficult time for Mum and our family. The support we all received from staff and management was excellent.
Mum had dementia and required 24/7 care and after 71 years of married life together, it took its toll.
The care my mum has received is faultless in everything they did and gave her.
The team of management and staff are dedicated to delivering the care of excellence.
Tavey House recommendation, yes, 100+%.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your positive feedback. Our dedicated team works hard to create a welcoming and supportive environment for all residents and it's truly rewarding to see that reflected in your feedback. Your words inspire and motivate us to continue delivering the highest standard of care.
Mum was looked after so well at Tavey House. The support and care she received from the team was excellent and she has been able to continue her progress now in an assisted living environment. The Team at Tavey are very caring and they provide a lovely secure environment for the residents.
We have been delighted with the care and attention that our mum has received from the staff and management at Tavey House.
Mum was living independently at home when she fell and broke her hip. She had to have 3 hip operations to put things right. Whilst in hospital she lost all confidence in herself and the NHS.
When Mum arrived at Tavey House she had low self-esteem, wasn't eating, and was a fraction of the person she was prior to her fall. However, she settled quickly and due to the care and dedication of the staff at Tavey House Mum regained her confidence, is eating well, sleeping better, and getting back to her former self.
As a result of this she is now able to leave the dedicated care environment of Tavey House and move into 'assisted living' accommodation.
We see this as a real success story for both our mum and Tavey House.
Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience with us. Your review not only brightened our day but also serves as a source of motivation for our entire team. It is through feedback like yours that we can continue to improve and create a warm and loving environment for all those entrusted in our care.
I have a friend in Tavey House who we have known for over 20 years. Sadly she has no family. My friend and I visit her and see that she is comfortable and happy. Jean has been in Tavey House for over three years and has been very well looked after. Tavey house is very clean the rooms are second to none. The manager and staff are so caring in the way they treat our friend. We cannot fault Tavey House at all. We would recommend Tavey House for its excellent care and lovely building to live in.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a positive review. We are fortunate to have a dedicated and compassionate team who genuinely cares about the well-being of our residents. They work tirelessly to ensure that each individual receives the attention, care and support they deserve.
The staff, throughout, have been responsive, kind, and understanding. My Dad would, of course, prefer to be left to his own devices, and of course, I wish he was at home... however, he has gained weight, and his medication is doing what it needs to because he’s taking it. He looks healthy, nourished and clean.. prompted to have showers etc. He looks relaxed and happy when he returns after trips out.
it has been a massive challenge and change in honesty, and I’m sad we have gone against what we know he really wants. That said, Tavey has been the best, and if he needs to be safe somewhere, this is the perfect place. We’re looking forward to him going out on the planned trips, which he’ll love.
As a social worker, I know I’m hard to please too!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a positive review for our care home! We greatly appreciate your kind words and feedback. Providing exceptional care and creating a comfortable and welcoming environment for our residents is our top priority, and it warms our hearts to know that we were able to meet your expectations.
A fantastic care home, staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is to much trouble, my auntie is so happy and content, my auntie has settled in so well so don’t miss being in her own home one bit.
Thank you for your review. Your auntie has settled in well at Tavey House and it is a pleasure to have her in our care.
