Tilson House is a purpose-built care home specialising in residential, dementia and respite care, to name a few. It allows maximum ease of access and comfort for all residents.

Tillson House is situated in a quiet residential area in the centre of a housing community. Residents benefit greatly from staying in such a well-placed location with many local shops and amenities just a short walk away. The home's location enables residents’ access to maintain independence and enjoy being part of the local community if they so wish. A local community centre for luncheon clubs and knitting clubs are also near.

The Home has two lounges, a light and modern dining room and bathrooms designed for easy access. Car parking facilities for visiting family and friends as well as a large surrounding garden for residents to enjoy. Regular supervised entertainment and activities either as a group or on a one-to-one basis if needed.

Very happy with how my mum is being cared for and communication with family during the lockdown. I enjoy seeing photos of the activities on offer on Facebook.
My mum always seems happy, well-fed and clean. The carers are amazing at this difficult time.

Before my mother made the decision to stay permanently in Tillson House, she was very confused and lonely since losing my dad in July 2020. Now she's never been so active with the themed nights and social events. She's a lot more talkative as well. Never has a bad word to say about the staff, who just
can't do enough for her.

Mum's been at Tillson House since June of this year, after a spell of 4 weeks in 2 different hospitals. It did take her some time to adjust as she's always been fiercely independent but got to that stage that she wasn't safe to care for herself without my support. She was having toileting problems and
intermittent falling issues and needed someone there 24/7. I'm not saying these things don't occur now, but at least there's someone on hand to support her. She always says that the staff are lovely and seems to accept that this is her forever home. It just happened as Coronavirus took hold.

My mum has been a resident at Tillson House since 2018. She has been extremely happy throughout that time. Tillson House and all it's staff are incredibly kind and patient with residents. Mum enjoys the meals and takes part in activities. Her mental and emotional wellbeing are much improved since living
here. It is a pleasant, comfortable environment.

My Dad has been a resident at Tillson House now for a number of years. I have always found the staff to be incredibly caring and that gives me great peace of mind. They try and fulfil any requests, for example, I have brought DVD’s in to play and we have watched together on a big screen. The food has
been excellent and they accommodate his changing needs. I would especially like to acknowledge during COVID-19 and lockdown how difficult it is for me not being able to visit him, however, I have received a card with a photo of him to show he is doing ok and had video calls with him. (His changing needs means he is unable to operate a mobile himself). I’ve found Tillson to be clean and they have refurbished areas to make them homely.

My mum moved here in May 2019 and seems very happy and settled really well. She is always clean and tidy. Mum eats really well since being here and can visit whenever we want. Staff always friendly and ready to help with anything we need for mum.

My mother-in-law has Alzheimer's and has been a resident here since February 2020. The care of the staff ensured she settled in exceptionally well and living locally, meant we could visit almost every day. Soon after she moved in, the Covid-19 crisis hit and the home quickly locked down to protect the
residents. This could have been a very difficult time for both Mum and our family, however, the empathy of all the staff shone through as they arranged video calls, phone calls twice a week to keep us updated on her wellbeing, cards posted to us with photos in. If we wander up, on our daily exercise hour, they ensure she comes to the window for a wave. Mum always presents in clean smart clothing, looks happy and is so obviously well cared for. We can't praise the staff enough for their care not only for Mum but for us as a family too.
Rooms are lovely, and you are able to decorate to your own taste if wanted. Food is superb, plentiful, always fresh and homemade.

I’m happy because my mum is happy, she seems settled and less anxious than she was before she came to Tillson House. The staff are very caring, understanding and reassure my mum when she’s feeling worried etc and my mum likes the staff. The staff encourage my mum to take part in activities if she wants
to, I’m not sure how often there are activities but probably a couple a week, and she did a video call to me too! There’s a regular hairdresser and chiropodist which my mum looks forward to. The food selection is good for breakfast, dinner and tea, plus snacks, however, my mum doesn’t always enjoy the food as she says the meat is chewy (but that might just be my mum struggling or being fussy). The home is clean and my mum's room is nice. The laundry seems to be done a few times a week but doesn’t always get returned to my mum. I can visit my mum at any time and take her out and I feel welcome there. In general, I think Tillson House is a good residential home and the staff are lovely.

We are very happy with how mum is cared for.
The staff all seem to care for their residents and they are all treated with the utmost kindness and dignity.
Having spoken to other family members I have never heard a bad word spoken about the staff.

From the start, the management made us feel very welcome and clearly expressed their desire to give the best care to my mother.


The home is clean and spacious with a friendly atmosphere. The staff when moving about, continually chat with residents creating a family environment. There is a happy

feeling.


A very good welfare and entertainment service are provided. Patients have the opportunity to participate in daily activities with exercises and mind developing games. Arrangements are regularly made for visits out to outside spaces of interest and restaurants. Guests are invited to provide musical entertainment.


Food and drink are very good with a varied and adequate menu.

I have found the home, as home from home. Everything is warm and inviting, everyone is friendly and helpful.
I have got to know a lot of the patients and if possible help them and talk to them if they want me to.
I don't know what I would do without the care of my husband and myself.
I am informed
if anything is wrong and I did ring every day. I was told not to worry, they would let me know straight away.

My mum has been a resident for over a year now and I feel her needs are being addressed. All the staff are lovely, caring and very pro-active. Issues that arise mainly with mum's confusion, poor mobility, hygiene, hearing and eyesight problems are dealt with, some more swiftly than others but time isn't
a crucial factor anymore. She is encouraged as best she can with her list of difficulties to engage with the other residents and I know she enjoys the company and not being on her own anymore since we lost my dad.


Her personal ground floor room is lovely and whilst it isn't large in size it is sufficient for her with nice views of the grounds out of her window. There is a good range of daily activities for those that can participate, and I know mum enjoys her regular hairdressing and chiropody sessions.


I would recommend to anyone who is unfortunate enough to have to use these residencies that Tillson House is a safe, caring, clean and well looked after premises for your loved one.

My wife has only been in the home a few weeks, but I go up in the morning to see her. The staff I have met are very nice and they offer me some dinner if I would like and I find the food really tasty. I can't fault it.

Tillson House is a friendly, calm, relaxing, well organised, well-run care home. It is always spotlessly clean and fresh smelling. You are never waiting to be let in out of the cold. The staff are friendly, obliging and attentive. In my experience of care homes, this is the "best". I am so pleased
my granddad was to be offered a placement there. The residents look happy, content and free from anxiety to ensure their comfort.

The care home staff and management are very warm and friendly and I am very pleased with the service provided. All the residents are treated with dignity and their individual needs are clearly respected. I chose this home for my relative on recommendation and have not been disappointed.
