Very relaxed atmosphere around a programme of activities that very energetic staff supervise. Brilliant.

It is difficult to know, I only know with Dad, not independent living.

A relatively small independent care home which has a lovely family feel to it. Everyone is friendly and my mother is kept clean, safe, warm and well fed. They do really try to engage the residents in activities, but this is never forced. I feel very reassured that my mother is in the best place.

I have both mum and dad in this Carehome they have been there 14 months and I can honestly say everything about this Carehome is excellent, the atmosphere is like a big family and the care is above and beyond. They take part in most of the activities if they up in time! This is their home and they are very happy and content here and both say they are well looked after and the food is lovely. It means a lot to know they are truly cared for.

So happy that I chose Westfield House. Such kind and attentive staff. The residents are well looked after and the atmosphere is always pleasant. The activities are amazing and everyone is involved residents and visitors alike. The place is kept very clean and well placed. The private rooms are kept beautifully.

Westfield House is a safe, secure and enhancing enviroment. The staff are a compassionate team that provides a "Home from Home". The care is geared to the needs of the individual. I witnessed a calm atmosphere, gentle kindness and respect. Meaningful social engagement is the order of the day. Structured daily activities and stimulation such as music, games, quizzes and lots of visits from animals and community groups, etc are very stimulating.

Having been a resident at Westfield House Care Home since August 2023, my Mum lost her battle with dementia and Alzheimer's in May 2026. During her time at the home, she settled very quickly, and the staff were very kind and supportive of her needs. Even during her final days, they were excellent and supportive of both my Mum and also there for the family as well, treating us all with compassion and respect. I could not thank or praise the staff and management at Westfield House enough throughout her stay there and would highly recommend them.

The team take excellent care of my mum and I'm very grateful for the support they provide. She is treated with genuine kindness, patience and respect, and it's clear the staff really care about the residents as individuals. There is a good range of activities to keep people engaged, and the atmosphere in the home feels warm, friendly and welcoming. Communication with me as her daughter is always open and supportive, and I feel listened to whenever I raise questions. The staff are approachable, professional and attentive, and I've seen how seriously they take residents' wellbeing and safety. The food is varied and well prepared, and my mum enjoys it. I have real confidence in the home's safeguarding processes and the way they prioritise residents' dignity, wellbeing and protection.

My husband has had a few weeks respite care at Westfield House. I cannot praise Westfield too highly. He has received excelelnt care form all the staff there. His room is very warm and comfortable; the food is home-cooked, and the staff even asked what, his favourite meal is, and cooked it for him. Westfield has a packed activities programme which my husband has really enjoyed. Westfield is a lovely, welcoming place, with staff who all go the extra mile.

Overall, a pleasant, homely place to be with well-trained staff who are kind - the most important thing of all!

My father recently received respite care at the Abbeyfield Nursing Home. It was his first experience of nursing care, and a positive one. The management and staff are very good. The daily activities he enjoyed. He particularly enjoyed the home cooked meals. A huge, thank you to the team.

The atmosphere in the home is so friendly and warm for all the residents and visitors. It is 'their home'. The staff cannot do enough for the residents and are seen as part of the family. The facilities are constantly being looked at to offer enhancement such as the recent 'sensory' lounge. Recommend highly.

Father in law came for 2 weeks respite in December 24 and has stayed. He used to wander out of home with minimal clothing in all weathers, and didn't know where he'd been. Having dementia he was doing all sorts which wasn't safe. It wasn't an easy decision for us but it was the best for him, we know he is safe and eating well. We wish he'd join in more activities as it would help him with his speech mixing with others, but you can't make him do what he doesn't want to do. The activities at Abbeyfield are varied, there's something going on every day. The food smells divine too. The staff are very friendly and brilliant with the residents. You have to be a special person to be a carer and Abbeyfield has them all. Thanks for caring for my father in law and helping us.

Was lovely to see all residents happy and well looked after , staff were quick at seeing to their needs ,home was lovely and clean and food was excellent, of all the care homes Iv been to this is definitely the best .

This is the second time that my dad has had respite care and I am more impressed than last time. The staff made a fantastic effort to make Christmas extra special for all. The manager has time for everyone and knows all the residents. I can't recommend it highly enough.

However, it's good to read you are not using many agency staff now.

When Mum became ill the staff were very good at looking after her and us as a family in her last few days of life and there was no question about her being able to stay there.

Abbeyfield cared for our mum with dementia for a year. Sadly our beloved mum has died now, but she had a lot of empathy, care and support from all the staff, especially in her last days. Mum loved the activities at the home and a couple of residents became her friends and gave her quality of life to the end. The kindness and support the manager and all the carers gave to us as a family in Mum's last days went above and beyond and enabled us to sleep next to Mum and be with her till the last. All carers came to say goodbye to Mum and showed her love and respect to the end. Mum moving there was the best decision for her for her care needs and social stimulation and peace of mind for her family that she was safe and was 'living again' rather than just existing.

Whilst improvements were undoubtedly made during my mother's residency there is still some way to go.

Abbeyfield Westfield Drive has overcome adversity by the recruitment of a dedicated hard-working manager and the retention of a team of loyal staff. The seniors and care staff are kind and compassionate even under the most difficult of circumstances. The catering staff offer an excellent variety of nutritional meals for residents and alternatives where possible. Residents rooms are kept clean and tidy and the laundry is done with great dedication. My mum has been a resident for 2 1/2 years and Abbeyfield was the best decision I made on her behalf. Abbeyfield has a warm and home-from-home feeling. The gardens are tranquil with sensory plants, architectural ornaments and seating areas which is beneficial to the residents and visitors. Activities are organised on a monthly basis for residents and family/friends are welcome to join in, so it's like one big family. In summary, I am more than pleased with the care my mum receives from a lovely dedicated team of staff that really do care about the residents.
