Woodheyes is a wonderful environment where Mum feels very much at home and well cared for.
Management and staff are all so pleasant, helpful and caring and never too busy to take the time to talk to any of our family when we visit or telephone.
During the past four months and with the enforced restrictions
caused by Covid-19 and visiting not being an option, it has been a huge relief to receive regular email updates confirming no resident or member of staff has proved positive. Remaining virus-free when caring for elderly vulnerable residents is remarkable and a testament to the care and standards everyone working at Woodheyes adhere to.
As a family, we can't thank the team enough and couldn't wish for Mum to be better cared for.

I have found Woodheyes to be a superb care home. When Mum first moved into Woodheyes, the family were all apprehensive, but the home's manager completely put me and my families representative completely at ease. I was shown around the home, the downstairs lounges, the dining room, the garden and bedroom,
and all were spotlessly clean and fresh. The staff are very friendly and caring, always there for the residents with a smile and sometimes a dance or a song! The manager is very approachable, she is either in the lounge or in her office and is always available to talk or in my case a shoulder to cry on. Communication is also very good, which is important, we have been getting regular updates regarding the Covid-19 virus via email, and phone calls to relatives are always welcomed. All in all, an excellent care home, I have no worries at all about Mum being a resident there. Above all else, Mum is treated with dignity, which is incredibly important.

The staff at Woodheyes have been amazing, right from the beginning when my father was admitted in October 2019. Their warmth and care not just for him, but for us as a family has been outstanding.
The manager and by virtue all of her staff, seem to go above and beyond anything that we had anticipated.
Currently, with Covid-19, we are unable to visit, but we have been more than encouraged to both call and Skype him which he loves. All tests have been negative there so far!
Would highly recommend.

Prior to the current situation with the dreadful covid-19 virus, I have always been extremely happy with the way in which Woodheyes is run. All staff have been engaging, considerate, professional and caring towards my mother, myself and brother. Now, with all the considerations involved with running
a care home at this time, the management and staff have excelled themselves in keeping the virus at bay, absolutely incredible. My thanks to all staff in giving myself and family such a wonderful place for our mother.

From my first visit to assess the home, the professional and friendly staff stood out. The atmosphere gives me confidence that mum is in a home where she is cared for extremely well. The owners care about the fabric of the building that is always very clean and the design and decoration are carefully
thought about and planned. The manager particularly demonstrates her care for residents, staff and the efficient running of the home.

Overall, the best place and the only place I would trust the care of my mum to.

Today has been my second visit to Woodheyes. On both visits, staff were very friendly and caring, it has a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere. My friend who resides there has commented regularly on how good and kind the staff are. If my situation required dementia care, I would have no doubts or fears
of living there.

I have always been impressed with the air of calm which pervades at Woodheyes. The standard of care my wife has received over two years has been exemplary. The home is very efficiently managed, whilst the staff are caring, professional and obviously well trained. I particularly like the way staff are
quick to spot any health impairment and seek medical treatment. I would unhesitantly recommend the home to anyone in need of care.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.603)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.603) out of 10 for Woodheyes is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.803 for Woodheyes is calculated as follows: ( (119 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 142 Ratings = 4.803
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodheyes is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 registered maximum number of service users is 7.6, which has been reached with 12 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
