Although my mum was uncertain about living in a care home, she settled in within a couple of days. She is really happy and feels safe. She is extremely well cared for. Staff are always available if she needs anything. They are very caring and let me know if there are any problems.

Visited a few homes and was overall very impressed. The Bungalow however seamed more homely and personal. They we able to take in my mum in a matter of hours - we were in a mess and they went above and beyond. Management and staff are amazing - they really care and have taken a massive load off me. My mum is happy, cared for and safe at all times. Absolutely amazing - I cannot thank them enough. So grateful!!

Review from N M (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 16 June 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

It is impossible to convey just how amazing this care home is (and I have seen a fair few!). My Grandma was very reluctant to go into a care home when it became unsafe for her to remain at home. However, the staff at the Bungalow made Grandma feel at home instantly, their bedside manner and good humour put her at ease and made every day a pleasure. Grandma soon got involved in the various activities the care home arranged - we even managed an Easter Egg hunt with my toddler and other family events. The resident cat and the pet days were particular favourites of my animal loving Grandma.

The staff at the Bungalow literally could not do enough to make Grandma feel at home. When my Grandma came to the end of her life the genuine care and concern the staff (from management to laundry) displayed was incredibly heartwarming and made such a difficult time slightly easier. Every one of the staff should be proud of themselves and the difference they made to my Grandma's life - thank you!

Overall Experience
Mum has spent the last 14 months living here. Although rather reluctant at first, she soon came to enjoy the company of both other residents and staff. With some encouragement, she began to join in activities, and was soon looking forward to bingo, scrabble, choir, art.... From her very first day, she has been extremely well looked after by a totally brilliant set of staff. And the staff don't just care for the residents - they care for the relatives too. It was a difficult decision to move Mum into a care home, but the staff have been SO supportive. I've lost count of the number of hugs I've had!!! It feels like they've been friends for years!
NOTHING has been too much trouble for them. Any medical issues have been quickly sorted out - in fact Mum has been healthier here than she has been for years!

I cannot rate this home too highly!! 5 stars doesn't really seem enough

The care that, The Bungalow Care Home, offered to my mother through until the end of her life was truly of such a high standard I am both amazed and stunned. My mother was not only treated with the utmost care and respect but the staff became regarded by my mother as family.
Nothing was too much trouble or effort and listening to staff members treat residents as real people with professionalism and compassion is something most of us would wish for where we in need of care.

My family will be forever more indebted to this team of people for they enhanced and extended my mother's life.

I visit my 93 year old brother in law who is immobile and spends most of his time in his room, by choice. The staff very kindly and gently encourage him to spend some time in the lounge however he usually prefers to stay in his room. In my opinion the staff are very kind and understanding and find time to talk and care for the residents. Care and hygiene is very good, meals and snacks are tasty and well presented. Staff are courteous, kind and caring.

We have been delighted with The Bungalow and the care Dad has received. I rang the manager in a state of panic when it became clear Dad would not be able to return home after a hospital stay. She could not have been more helpful and reassuring and that has been out experience with all the staff. A really caring, kind and supportive environment.

As local next of kin, we had the benefit of seeing this care home at various times through their working day and different shift staff, as well as by regular telephone contact with several staff and the manager. We witnessed attentive and caring people, knowledgeable, able to advise us, and we had no doubt all were well-trained. I would have mentioned a few people in particular but that would have omitted many others purely because I didn't note down their names. Overall we felt extremely lucky to have our loved one placed at this care home, cut short only due to a health issue requiring a hospital check. We would have no hesitation if social workers made a repeat placement at this same home.

I am a relative of a service user who now resides here. My answers are only based on what I have observed, as the service user has only been there for two weeks. So far, from what I have observed, the carers are doing a grand job. They are so polite, and nothing is too much for them. Keep up the good work. The service user is so happy and repeatedly tells me how nice they all are.
