Willowbrook House

Willowbrook House is a specialist mental health care home in Corby, providing nursing care and long-term rehabilitation for adults with complex mental health and physical care needs. Respite, end-of-life and palliative care are also provided.

The home supports adults with severe and enduring mental health conditions, behaviours that challenge, dementia including early-onset dementia, high-dependency nursing needs and mild learning disabilities. Care is also available for people with a forensic history and those requiring Section 117 aftercare, a Discharge to Assess pathway, CPA, CTO, Conditional Discharge from the Ministry of Justice or a Guardianship Order under the Mental Health Act 1983.

The home has 43 en-suite bedrooms, communal lounges, an outdoor courtyard and garden. An occupational rehabilitation kitchenette, laundry room and therapy rooms support rehabilitation and everyday skills.

A sensory room offers a calming space during periods of distress, with soothing music, sensory lighting, tactile resources and calming scents. The room is also available to visitors and staff. A multi-faith room provides a quiet space for residents and staff to reflect and pray.

Residents can enjoy gardening and develop practical skills in the mini garden, growing vegetables and fresh mint for drinks.

Residents are encouraged to take an active role in decisions about their care and daily lives. Individual preferences are considered when planning meals, activities and outings, with positive risk-taking encouraged where appropriate to promote confidence, independence and wellbeing. Where a resident lacks capacity, the home works with the wider support network to identify the least restrictive approach.
