Moriah House is situated in the heart of the Nottingham suburb of Carlton, less than two miles from the centre of the city, with all its shops and amenities. Since 1980 it has offered its residents high-quality care and accommodation in a warm and relaxed setting. The home provides accommodation for those who still wish to be independent as well as those who may need a little more attention and looking after.

Anyone who has ever visited Moriah House will tell you that it is one of the happiest homes they have been in. The manager and all the staff work really hard to create an environment where residents can enjoy life to the full, and become part of the strong community atmosphere that makes the home a special place. Everyone at the home wants residents to feel part of a loving and caring community where nothing is too much trouble. This is not only comforting for those who live at the home but also offers peace of mind to relatives and loved ones.

The home is proud to be very much part of the local community and look forward to continuing to care for its residents for many years to come.

I have been very impressed by Moriah House, especially the care staff. They are friendly, cheerful and genuinely seem to care about my mum. I live abroad, I have been here for 2 weeks and it is my last day tomorrow, but I can leave feeling happy she is in good hands.
Every time we have visited Mum,
we have had a friendly welcome. The food is excellent and the facility is clean. I would highly recommend this facility.

Two of my relatives were moved to Moriah House at short notice. They have both settled in extremely well and appear to be very happy. Apart from 2 falls since admission, the carers are always present in the living room and appear to keep a close eye on the residents. They both seem clean and well cared
for in spite of their incontinence issues. Staff and management are very friendly and helpful. Food and snacks are excellent.

I am very happy to have found this home for my mum. The staff are great and after a month of visiting, it's like being part of the family.
The manager is great and made the whole transition for my mum and our family a lot easier. The manager is very approachable to discuss anything, mum has settled
in very well in such a short space of time so far.
Lovely place and staff. A+ Would recommend.

I am a regular visitor in the capacity of visiting relatives (my sister in law was cared for for 5 years and got very good care) Recently another sister in law (89) is there and she too is well cared for. The staff are very friendly and patients are always kept clean. There is no smell contrary to some
other homes I have visited in the past. I also visit two residents and give them Holy Communion which they look forward to. Staff have full respect of this and all overall is a pleasant home.

We are delighted to have found such a caring home with long serving staff whose focus is the happiness of its residents. Mum happily showed us her colour coordinated room with a lovely view and comfy bed. She praises the freshly cooked meals and thinks the staff are wonderful.
What more could we ask
than to have found this oasis in a sea of homes where we know mum is safe and happy and we, at last, have peace of mind.

We were so lucky to find this wonderful home where the care is second to none.
The staff have long-term connections with the home and it really is like one big family.
I have visited relatives in homes over the years and never have I witnessed such a caring and happy environment - it is truly a home
from home for the residents.
Daily activities ensure stimulation for the residents.
Mum is happy and contented now and knowing she is safe and well cared for brings priceless peace of mind after an extremely stressful period in our lives.

I want to leave an excellent review on the staff at Moriah House. Our mother could no longer be cared for at home and at such short notice, we were limited to homes that had rooms and ended up at Moriah House with some apprehension. We could not have been more wrong. All the staff were lovely and that
includes all the support, office and kitchen staff. She had taken to her bed but they encouraged her to come downstairs for meals and gradually she was more than happy to get up everyday. Whilst she was never a great one for making friends she was happy to chat to the staff and some of the residents, sitting in the quiet room or in the outside area. Unfortunately, her time there was only 6 months but it was such a happy time and I cannot be more grateful to them for making this time so special with some great memories and with the comfort that she was well liked and cared for.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.088)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.088) out of 10 for Moriah House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.638 for Moriah House is calculated as follows: ( (64 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 94 Ratings = 4.638
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.45 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Moriah House is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.65
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.8
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2018

I have worked in the social care sector for over 11 years, where I have developed a passion for providing high-quality and compassionate care to support individuals and their care needs.

Since joining the team at Moriah House Care Home in 2018, I have had the opportunity to work across several departments where I have worked directly alongside the care team, the senior care team & later within a management team covering administration, finance & governance. These experiences have given me a good understanding of the home and the needs of both residents and staff.

Over the years, I have developed my knowledge and leadership skills alongside the completion of an NVQ level 5 in leadership and management, where I have successfully and proudly registered with CQC as the Registered Manager.

My focus for Moriah House care home is to maintain high standards of care whilst creating a warm, supportive environment where residents feel valued, respected, and safe. I strongly believe in promoting person-centred care, ensuring that each individual receives support that reflects their preferences, dignity, and independence.

I am dedicated to working closely with residents, families, and our team to ensure that the home continues to provide the highest quality care and remains a positive and welcoming place for everyone.
