Kingfisher Court Care Centre in Clifton, Nottingham provides residential, nursing, and dementia care to up to 40 people in one of the most distinctive care home settings in Nottinghamshire. The conservatory and communal areas overlook a beautiful lake, and residents enjoy the daily ritual of feeding the ducks that come to the water's edge. Rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (October 2022), Kingfisher Court is one of the highest-rated nursing homes in the East Midlands.

Kingfisher Court is part of RDCP Care, having joined the group from Monarch Healthcare. Fees are among the most competitive for nursing care in the Nottingham area, and the outdoor coffee shop offers a genuinely unique space for residents, families, and visitors to enjoy together.

There is nowhere quite like Kingfisher Court in Nottingham. The lake view, the outdoor coffee shop, the conservatory that looks out over the water, and the daily duck-feeding routine that residents look forward to: these are the small, specific, irreplaceable details that make a home feel like home rather than an institution.

A sensory room provides specialist support for residents living with dementia, and the activities team runs a varied weekly programme including regular visits from Dovecote Primary School every Wednesday, pastoral care from the Reverend Lydia of Clifton Parish Church, and a monthly headline entertainer. The rolling four-week menu is developed with residents' input and provides variety, choice, and excellent nutrition.

For families in Clifton, West Bridgford, Ruddington, and across South Nottingham looking for nursing, residential, or dementia care with an exceptional setting and competitive fees, Kingfisher Court is the outstanding choice.

My father attended Kingfisher Court Care Home as a respite user, he is now going through the motions of becoming a full-time resident
Myself and the family are more than happy for Dad to be in Kingfisher as a full-time resident.
The staff are always very welcoming and friendly, the new manager was
a pleasure to meet and is very knowledgeable and informative.
The manager and all the team seem to be passionate about their job and deliver good quality care.
Thank you to the whole team.

I find the staff at Kingfisher Court to be extremely helpful and they go out of there way so I can speak to my dad either over the phone or on video calling as I reside in Australia. I love the facts the home has special events like St Patrick's day and celebrates residents Birthdays.

Mum loved this home, she felt safe and enjoyed the food and care provided. The staff are very friendly and caring and went out of their way to get the food Mum loved, and the activities there are second to none. I can't recommend this home enough.

I would like to thank the staff and particularly the Carers at Kingfisher Court for looking after mum so well. The kindness, compassion and concern they have shown her, has been a great comfort to me and the rest of the family.
I have witnessed tenderness and care towards mum, that has gone beyond
my hopes. I know she has felt safe there and we (the family) have felt safe in leaving her in your care.
I have also noticed how you try to enrich the lives of the residents with entertainment, games and celebrations of special occasions. Please keep up this good work.
Thank you, I will always be grateful.

My mother came to the home 23rd Feb and the staff made my mother feel welcome. Since being in there me and my brother and sister have noticed a change for the better. The staff even go out of the way to make the residents comfortable, and for that our family are grateful because if our mother is happy
then we are. So again, a big thank you to Kingfisher and all its staff.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.197)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.197) out of 10 for Kingfisher Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.897 for Kingfisher Court is calculated as follows: ( (61 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 68 Ratings = 4.897
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.3 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kingfisher Court is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 = 3.55
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 8 = 0.75
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
