The staff at Aaron Grange are lovely they seem very caring and helpful with the residents and I am only including the ones I have contact with. I really think the decor lets the whole place down. It all need a fresh lick of paint and furniture from the 21st century.

Reply from Angie Smith, Home Manager at Aaron Grange Care Home

Thankyou for your nice review, I will pass this on to the carer's who look after mum. The home is in need of some modernising which is fully in the pipeline for both inside and out.

My mum has been in the care home for over 3 years. I have got to know most of the staff who look after mum, who I think are brilliant and go that extra mile. All the different categories of staff are very helpful to my mum and my family. The decor inside the building and the entrance of the building is dated, and this could do with an uplift. I am not complaining; it's an observation.

It was so hard to come to terms with the fact that my lovely mum needed 24-hour care. Aaron Grange was the choice we made for her. The care my mum receives is second to none. Yes, it is an old building, but the warm feeling you get as you come through the front door is unbelievable. The staff, from management to seniors to carers, are so professional and caring. Thanks to each and every one of you for looking after my mum.

My Grandad has been in Aaron Grange for over 12 months and his care there has been fantastic.
All the staff make residents and visitors feel very welcome and make it an enjoyable place to be and visit - even regional managers when coming to visit are professional and friendly but also approachable if you need to discuss anything.
I feel reassured each time I leave that my grandad is safe and well cared for as he means the world to me.

Thank you to all the staff for the continuous care they give me and my family :-)

My husband was in Aaron grange for a short stay respite care. I cannot praise his care enough . The rooms lovely and clean. The staff were so lovely with my husband. They very quickly got to understand his very complex needs. The management team were always popping in to see if he was ok. I would highly rate this care home .
My husband is having another two week stay in near future.

Thankyou Aaron grange

Really grateful to the staff on the nursing unit at Aaron Grange. My Mother was there for 9 months before passing away a few weeks ago. She had Alzheimer's. She was treated with respect and kindness and we were always well informed and included in decisions.
We sat by her bed the week she died and everyone was professional but compassionate.

They do a difficult job caring for our loved ones with this terrible condition and I am very grateful.

My Mum is a resident of Aaron Grange, she has dementia and other medical issues. I was considering moving Mum to a residential home closer to where I live but after seeing how the staff are with my mother I couldn't possibly move her.

The whole team go above and beyond their work duties, you can see that they DO really care and that starts from the front office to every member of staff I've come across and I think I've met most of them apart from the overnight staff. The home is spotless, my mums room is immaculate, her clothes are always washed and returned to her wardrobe and bedding constantly cleaned. I have walked in communal room at breakfast time and I really could have tucked into some of the food. The staff are amazing, each and every one of them. It's always the same staff and sometimes I think they don't go home as I visit at different times of the day inc evenings and a lot of days in the week. They always have a smile on their faces. I don't know how they do it.

Mum moved into nursing 4 weeks ago and after concerns that she would not cope with the move as has been unable to communicate and has been extremely agitated and distressed prior to her move. After only 4 weeks the change is amazing and Mum settled as the team have managed to understand Mum quickly and how to reduce her stress. For the first time in a long while they have managed to settle her so much that she can now join the other residents in the lounge and look calmer. Wonderful to see this.

Aww thank you for this lovely review, your mum has settled in very well on our nursing unit, she is like a totally different resident and looks really well. I am so proud of the nurses and carer as they have done a fantastic job at gaining your mum's trust and completing everything at her pace. It is fantastic to see her sitting in the lounge with others and smiling again.

After having to make the hardest decision to put my mum in care am so pleased to say the staff have made her stay as comfortable as possible and her interaction and her banter with staff have always made her feel like she can still be herself. Staff will always inform me to let me know if my mum isn't well or if she has had the doctor or nurse see her, it also puts my mind at ease to know her room door can be locked when she isn't in her room all day and have never had a problem with items going missing. The staff at Aaron Grange have always been approachable and make you feel so welcome, they all do an amazing job, especially dealing with dementia patients.

The staff are an amazing team.
They care for residents, as would treat their own family. The staff do the best they can, and always on hand to help 24/7.

I think it's a lovely clean home and my dad is well looked after here, and happy.

When my sister-in-law moved to Aaron Grange it was a very stressful time for us all, we need not have worried. All the staff were amazing. They couldn't have done anymore to help us. We were kept informed at all times. When she was unwell they called the doctor and she was seen as soon as possible. Her care was wonderful, you would go a long way to find such dedication.

My parents have been in Aaron Grange since the beginning of September. Both they and our family have been welcomed and shown such kindness. They are both very well cared for by everyone from management, carers, cleaners, kitchen staff, office and maintenance. Everyone always has a smile and a hello. I always feel welcome when I visit. I feel everyone goes above and beyond. Thank you Aaron Grange for making a difficult time a little bit easier.

My Dad was cared for at Aaron Grange due to him suffering from dementia for only a short time. While he was there his dementia deteriorated very quickly. I noticed that he was getting more and more bruises on his forearms as if they were trying to restrain him. Dad had a fall and was unnecessarily taken to the hospital with minimal physical injuries and was refused to be allowed back. It seems to be a policy of Aaron Grange for when a resident becomes awkward or hard to care for they send them to the hospital and then refuse to have them back, basically making dad homeless. I can say this because it happened to another resident who kicked my dad while he was there and when my brother asked what was happening their words were "Don't worry he's going to the hospital tomorrow and you won't see him again". After dad was refused back into the care home I sent an email. I'm still waiting for a reply we are now looking for a new care home which will support dads needs. I wouldn't send anyone here.

My mum has been living at Aaron Grange for 3 years now. I am happy with the care that she receives and the staff are always on hand. Sadly since lockdown, mum's overall mental health has deteriorated and now she does not leave her room. I bought her a radio for company and my brother got the TV working. I am sure this has happened to many other care home residents locally and nationally. Overall I am happy with Aaron Grange.
